The elation of his victory was quickly undone by the massive coughing fit caused by accidentally inhaling some of the dust and he quickly stumbled out of the creature before he was completely covered in the stuff. As he stumbled out a system screen flashed in front of his face to greet him.
The cursed sin of gluttony must find a new host and you have been selected. Congratulations!
Before Quill could even let out a curse of frustration and anger, another system screen popped in front of his face.
Congratulations! The cursed sin of gluttony has been successfully suppressed.
Congratulations! The cursed sin of gluttony has been successfully purged from your being.
Before Quill could even ask her voice chimed in with poorly concealed rage. “Lousy no good fish bait thinking they could try and have you like that!! If I knew that was going to happen I would have asked you to torture the filthy disgusting pissbrain until I was satisfied!!”
Well he guessed that answered that question but before he could get some clarification, more system screens popped in front of his face.
Congratulations! You have earned the achievement “sin suppression”
It takes an Iron Will and nerves of Steel to successfully suppress a cursed sin, no matter how weak or strong. Be wary though. For the sin itself has ways of influencing you even if you do not realize it.

Congratulations! You have earned the achievement “purged of sin”
You didn't just suppress your sin, you completely purged it from your being. The Blessed Virtues are going to absolutely love you. You poor bastard.

“Well that was a lot to take in.” He awkwardly coughed out, trying to clear his lungs of the dust, before yet another screen popped in front of his face.
Congratulations! You have completed your evolution quest and may now choose your new class and then level up!
Choose your class?
Congratulations! You qualify to upgrade your race and/or take a trait to enhance your current race!
Look through options?
Could he please just have a minute to process everything! Getting bombarded by all these screens from the system was starting to give him a headache.
“To be fair, that headache could be from using your energy manifestation and a lack of oxygen from breathing in all that dust.” She responded, still sounding upset.
Okay she might have had a point but the system screens weren't helping the matter. He walked a bit further away from the cursed sins corpse as it continued to deteriorate into dust. Who knew how big the pile of dust would be when it had finished.
He walked until he hit the main tunnel and curled an eyebrow up at seeing The Golden Throne crumpled and broken, lodged deep into one of the murals on the wall. Casting a quick identify he got some new information.
Throne of the glutton- G grade (Damaged)- Upgradable
(Rare)
Once the Throne of the Soul King it has now been damaged and influenced by a cursed sin of gluttony due to it being used for an unintended purpose by some maniac. Any who would sit on said throne will soon find themselves influenced into indulging in gluttony. Such a power could come at a steep price if one is not careful.
“Well I wasn't planning on using it before but now there's no way I'm going to use it.” Quill mumbled as he popped the throne back into his storage ring. He did note that he couldn't tell what the item actually did and could only read the flavor text. So he wondered if his identify skill wasn't strong enough.
“Yeah that's probably for the best. I mean I could still protect you easily from its influence though there really isn't any point in having it. But hey maybe you could sell it.”
“That feels grossly irresponsible if it has the power to corrupt someone. Maybe I can just melt it down into gold bars or something.” he rubbed his head with a groan and just decided to make a decision about that later as he made his way to the break room of the station.
If he was going to black out again after choosing his class then he wanted to make sure he was in the most secure area possible. He headed down to the main hall and promptly placed said golden throne onto the trapdoor. He then moseyed his way into the break room making sure to lock the door behind him and selected the choose class prompt.
It is recommended that you either upgrade or enhance your current race before choosing your class. Do you wish to continue?
Quill read the system screen before selecting no and pulled up his trait or race upgrade, whatever that would mean.
Congratulations! You have met the requirements of upgrading your race to a celestial. Do you wish to upgrade?
He read that prompt and quickly hit “no” on upgrading himself to a celestial as that sounded really really lame. Plus he was given no indication of what a celestial was or how it might be considered an upgrade. Knowing the system, it would probably lead to some horrible drawback that would screw him over in the long run. Now maybe if it offered for him to become an elf he might have considered it.
“An elf? Really?”
“Yes, really. I like elves. Why? What would you have me become if you had a choice?”
“I think I would have you become a dwarf because I actually have standards and taste. But at least you didn't pick a celestial, that does sound really really lame.”
“Well at least we are in agreement there. But dwarves really?”
“Yes, really. Why do you sound so shocked by this?”
“I don't know, I just never really pegged you for the type.”
“Maybe it's just because dwarves remind me of you. You know, you're short, Or at least shorter than the average human. Plus you're growing quite a nice beard, though maybe you're giving more of a wild man look as opposed to a dwarf look. Kind of picture dwarves to be a little more groomed I guess. Yeah, I think you look more like a homeless wild man now that I think about it. Not to worry though, you are still the sexiest wild homeless man out there.”

Quill mumbled something incoherent as he tried to hide his embarrassment while opening the traits section since Celestial was his only race Evolution option.
However before he went further an idea suddenly struck him. “Hey, you wouldn't know anything about that error in my trait section of my status would you?”
“Nah, don't worry about it. It's hardly important at the moment and would just be a senseless distraction. Now hurry up and check what available traits you can get, I'm itching to see what your options are.”
The familiar fog started to cloud his brain and after biting his lip he started to read through the various traits he could take. Once again he was given a massive list of options. Most seemed useless or at least useless for his given situation.
If he could best describe what the traits were, it would be as something that permanently changed who he was. Though some seemed to be cosmetic more than anything. Like one option seemed to give him goat horns, another would make his skin translucent, which he wasn't sure if that meant it would make him harder to see or if it would just make people see his inner organs better.
He quickly disregarded all the cosmetic traits except for the one that would make his eyes heterochromia because who wouldn't want two different colored eyes. He then disregarded various traits that he didn't really care for such as the ability to only need water to survive. He quite enjoyed eating food so long as it wasn't junk food at this point. He then started disregarding the various traits that seemed useful but not for his given situation, such as healing from poisons instead of getting hurt by them.
It took a while but he finally managed to narrow things down to only a few options with 2 in particular really catching his attention.
Powerful brain
While not as noticeable or flashy as some traits you could take, make no mistake that this is the perfect trait to take for those who seek to use Magic, various mental skills, or is just stuck in an area that is constantly assaulting the mind. Plus it doesn't even grow your forehead as an added bonus!
Requirements: have a skill that takes heavy mental strain being rare or higher. Or have lived in an environment for enough time that is mentally demanding on the mind
Powerful body
You want a big Macho body? You better look somewhere else cuz this doesn't really do that. It does however make it so that your body can withstand higher stresses from a physically demanding skills and or environments
Requirements: have a skill that takes a heavy toll on the body being rare or higher. Or have lived in an environment for enough time that is physically demanding on the body.
Quill looked through all the other traits but didn't see anything that said powerful soul. He wasn't sure if that was because he didn't meet the requirements for it or if his soul was just a glitchy mess that the system didn't bother fixing.
“Eh, It's not like it would matter anyways. Your soul is doing perfectly fine. Now if you want my opinion, I would say either go with a powerful body or with heterochromia eyes. I think you would look quite cute with two different colored eyes.”
“Why not a powerful brain?” He felt the need to ask.
“I doubt you'll need it at least not for the long run besides a powerful body will help you survive these tunnels better as it would likely increase your toughness, correct?”
She made a very good point and while the heterochromia eyes would be quite cool he wanted to prioritize survival. So with his decision made up he reached for “powerful body” and accidentally selected “powerful mind”.
Congratulations on selecting the trait powerful mind!
This trait will become active once you hit F grade
She exploded at him “What the hell Quill! Why did you select that!?!?”
it was an accident I swear.” He hurriedly explained himself feeling droplets of sweat start to speckle his body. “I am really sorry. I guess I am just more out of it than I thought and I accidentally took it. Again I am very very sorry.”
Mental Foc-
Spli-
“Quill.” Her voice took on a sinister tone as the prompt in front of him was quickly dismissed before it could finish “Are you sure you want to keep this up?”
“I-I don't know what you're talking about. It was a total accident. I swear. I really am sorry, but it will still help me with the energy manifestation so it's not like a total loss right?” He tried really hard to hide his nervousness but knew he was failing in that front which only made him more nervous in the process.
There was silence on her end making his anxiety spiking even more “h-hello?”
“Fine. I suppose you are right. It is not a total loss but try not to make the same mistake when choosing your class. It's best if you hurry up and do so, I wish to see what options you have.”
He almost let out a breath of relief but caught himself at the last second and instead opened up the class selection screen desperate for distraction.
Once again he was given a large list of options. Many appeared to be just natural upgrades from the basic classes he saw in his first class evolution. He even saw Occult Mage and Savage Warrior but without the “early” tacked on.
He was half tempted just to pick Savage Warrior and see how much of an upgrade it was compared to early but he decided you should at least check out all of his other options first.
Naturally he tossed out all the classes that he was given that didn't seem like they would synergize with his energy manifestation skill which unfortunately meant all classes that were focused on range.
“Not like you could have hit anything even if you did pick one” she commented and he promptly ignored.
He next tossed out classes that seemed to heavily focus on just one stat. He was a bit of an even steven and felt like he wouldn't be able to get the most out of the heavily focused classes.
Next he tossed out all the common and uncommon classes which did include Savage Warrior and Occult mage. The main reason being the common and uncommon classes gave fewer stat points then the few rare classes he had. And every bit of an advantage he could gather was good.
Finally he went with vibes. not the most accurate form of measurement sure but if this was going to be his class then he wanted a class he just liked. This finally narrowed it down to only a few options.
Inquisitor (Rare)
You understand the devastation of a cursed sin. You understand that such things should not exist in this world. You understand that in order to live a blessed life one must first root out corruption. The Inquisitor has seen first hand the horrors of a cursed sin and personally sought to end its wretched existence by any means necessary. The Inquisitor shall gain skills, traits and abilities to help fight, find, control and kill not just cursed sins but those that seek to use its powers.
Requirements: has helped fight a cursed sin or has successfully fought off the temptation of a cursed sin.
Stats per level- 4 in body, 3 in mind, 3 in soul
This one was certainly tempting and he always found inquisitors in media kind of cool if a little crazy. Plus judging by its description it would help him considerably when it came to killing the other cursed sins of gluttony.
His biggest hesitation though was that it kind of seemed attached to crazy religious nut jobs. He looked over some classes that he had already disregarded such as Acolyte of the Blessed Virtues, Paladin of the Blessed virtues, Squire to the Cursed Sin Hunter, and Cursed Sin Hunter.
All of those had requirements involving an encounter with a cursed sin and he wasn't really sure if by accepting Inquisitor he'd be joining some crazy religious cult. He certainly didn't need to deal with something like that again. So he kept that on the back burner while he looked at the other classes.
Magical Berserker (Rare)
Berserkers being dumb is a horrible stereotype. Berserkers being battle crazed lunatics? That one is pretty accurate. The Magical Berserker doesn't just want to fight, they want to prove they are better than anyone in both magic and physical powers. They will take on any challenge so long as it means they get a good fight. Pity any and all who might end up at the receiving end of a magical Berserkers rage. The magical Berserker shall gain skills, traits and abilities that allow them to fight harder, longer, and deal more devastating blows whether through magic or physical powers.
Requirements: has been constantly fighting and has put themselves repeatedly in situations where they are surrounded by enemies at all times, has consistently fought higher level enemies, has consistently fought large groups of enemies, has a skill or skills that Require a high body stat and a high mind stat.
Stats per level- 4 in body, 4 in mind, 2 free stat points
This one seemed to basically allow him to keep doing what he has been doing but better. The issue was he didn't like what he was doing. It completely sucked and if he actually had options he certainly wouldn't be doing it.
It was probably a better option than The Inquisitor still he let out a sigh and checked out his third and final option.
Rebellious anarchist (Rare)
You have an issue with authority to say the least. Your entire history could best be summed up with “someone told you to do something and you said no.” You don't like being controlled but you also hate those with power to rule over and dictate to those without. The rebellious anarchist will use all of their power to fight those they believe are abusing theirs. The rebellious anarchist shall gain skills, traits, and abilities that help conceal and hide from positions of authority as well as help you fight off against those that are typically stronger than you.
Requirements: has repeatedly fought stronger beings, has helped overthrow a ruler, takes issue with authority, has actively bad-mouthed the system at least once.
Stats per level- 10 free stat points
That last requirement was a little weird but if he was being totally honest he probably liked this class the most.
“Do you plan to overthrow more rulers and more kingdoms?” she teased.
“Not going to lie, the idea does seem appealing.” he responded as he continued to look over the other two classes. But the more he looked the more certain he felt that Rebellious Anarchist was just meant for him. Plus he could freely distribute all of his stats as he wanted to because fuck the system and other classes that would dictate how he did his build. So without further ado and to keep himself from second-guessing, he selected it.
Class selected please stand by.
“And here we g-” Everything went black before he could finish that sentence
