Stepping out of the shower, I dried off. Taking the towel, I wrapped it around my head. Grabbing the other towel off the sink, I wrapped it around my body. Walking to my bed, I picked up my phone and took a seat. I looked through my calendar to see what I had planned for today. Since I’m off, I have to run a few errands.
Getting up, I walked to the kitchen while reading my phone. I went into the cabinet and grabbed a glass, then I filled it with water from the sink. Bringing the glass to my mouth, I took a sip. The towel around my body glowed and when it dimmed, I was wearing a black t-shirt and black jeans. Next, the towel on my head glowed and when it dimmed, my long, flowing black hair fell down, and my pentagram earrings dangled from my ears.
Putting the glass down on the table, I picked up my phone. There was a ghost chat from one of my coworkers. In the picture she sent, it was a picture of her with the ocean and a cocktail in her hand. The caption read “Teleport here to Fiji! The weather is so nice, and the guys are so hot!”
I double tapped on her username and turned the camera to face me. I took a picture with the peace sign and then put the caption “I have to run some errands first, then consider me there! Save a guy for me!”

After I sent the chat, I noticed Karlo hadn’t opened my message and now there’s an hourglass next to our streak number, 5,479 days. He is in between missions. Why hasn’t he responded yet? Was he cleaning his bat cave again?
I walked to my foyer and looked in the mirror. Waving my hand across the mirror, the image changed to show a large building. On the top it said Ghostchatter with their logo on it. That’s strange. Why is he there?
I waved my hand again, and the image changed. Karlo was in a stairwell. The guards below were firing at him; the bullets bounced off the stairwell bars he was using as cover. “Dude, you don’t have to do this. Just talk to her about breaking the streak. It’s not that big of a deal.”
“You don’t know my ex. That woman is so stubborn she'd make a mountain get out of her way if she didn't feel like going around it! This is my only option!” Karlo said and stood up quickly and shot the guard twice in the chest, causing his feet to buckle beneath him and he fell on the stair railing.
Seeing his other friend die, the other guard ran towards the stairwell doors. Bullets ricocheted off stairwell railings, and one hit him in the arm. He winced and then pushed the door open and screamed, “He’s coming now! We can’t let him destroy the servers!”
Karlo dropped the magazine out of his gun and then reloaded it with a magazine from his pocket. With his gun pointed in front of him, he slowly went down the stairs.
I waved my hand over the mirror. I’ve seen enough. That fucker is trying to break our streak. I won’t let him; he’ll die before that happens.
