Zel Ca (1)

Hello, people refer to me as Zel Ca since my full name is a bit of a tongue twister. I'm what you'd call an Immortal Entity, someone capable of infinite existence and this is where, I suppose, I should start to begin my story so lets start all the way back in the beginning, to my birth... --- A child was born on this unremarkable night to an unremarkable family of a quite unremarkable standing, not high but not quite low either, in an unremarkable city of an unremarkable country and yadi yadi yada you know what I'm trying to convey.

The child that was born, although unremarkable in appearance at the moment, was name Mark. Now, Mark grew up with an average family situation and parents who cared about him a fair bit, a school life where he didn't quite make a large number of friends, but still a friend circle that would be considered still be substantial. He had a few girlfriends along the way, and lived the life of what an average youth of the 21st century would consider good. He wanted to complete college and become a teacher for he always enjoyed the action of teaching information to the next generation.

After all, it takes a whole lot of unremarkable indiviuals to produce a genius. Think of them like flowers, the flowers still need the stem, leaves, the bud, the roots and whatnot to even come into existence and the numerous unremarkable individuals form the rest of the plant in order to makr the flower or geniuses to bloom.

The year he turned 25 is when his life would experience a major overhaul. In the month of April, 5 months before his 26th birthday, a major development occurred to the world as a whole. System Integration, at least that's what it called itself. Allowing Earth to be one of the very first planets to experience an artificial access to mana.

Now I say artificial access, but the mana was real, it was just the channel connecting the source and the Earth being artificial. The system being new, was in a stage where it accepted administrators and ideas from the population and culture of Earth respectively. Adapting to become the very well know System Apocalyse genere type of System.

Mark, being one of the first humans to get access to the System felt a spark lit up inside of him, the light to get out of the unremarkable and finally become remarkable. Reality however wasn't quite as apocalytic as he was expecting. Sure the government needed a revamp, people became capable of feats previously unthinkable to mankind and monster invasions and such but for all the hype that Mark was expecting, not much really changed in the general state of humanity.

A little background information on the System might be due at the moment. The system mostly needed new inputs to creat skills and the such since Earth was one of the first planets to be included hence not much about the System except for the very basic skills such as Mana Manipulation, Mana Sense and whatnot along with the stats sheet were given to humanity at the beginning. as time progressed, humanity learned about the workings of Mana and created skills and magics utilising it.

If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. Please report it.

Mark for all his aspirations remained ahead of the curve, most definitely, but not quite as remarkable as he hoped and ofcourse the twist comes to the forefront now.

The System finally issued one of the very first compulsary missions, where the whole of humanity would have to travel to a new world and survive for 5 years in order to have continued access to the System and Mana as a whole. Time for preparations were 3 years, by this time Mark was 28 years of age.

I'd say the next 3 years passed by in a flash but for most people, it didn't. Some continued thier regular lives trying to ignore the very obvious threat to thier lives that would occur after 3 years but most by the next few months very training and trying thier best to learn all about Mana, and in how it could be used to manipulate the forces of Science to create Magic.

By the end of the 1st year all Governments forced thier citizens to take up mandatory Mana training courses as well as survival and combat training courses to prepare for the future. Our Mark at this time waws most definitely not lazing about, in fact he unlocked the very first Characteristic to ever exist in the System by a crazy conbination of luck, skill, couriosity and luck. Yes, i mentioned luck twice since that was one of the main factors, I won't say Mark was talented or smart, he was as he always was, unremarkable.

But one thing that was not unremarable was his determination... and in this one case luck.

The Characteristic he got was called Eternal Teacher. It allowed him to add the lifespan of his student's to himself once they acknowledged him as one. He most definitely got this due to his  job as a teacher he picked up after Governments opened up the Mana courses and recruited talented and capable individuals, in this case Mark.

The next two years passed in a flash for Mark, using his new Characteristic he took in hundreds of, if not thousands of students due to the massive population of the place he lived in. The Eternal Teacher Characteristic worked in such a manner that every time he taught a new student, he would add the same number of years to his lifespan that the student would have left in thiers'.

E.g. If a 15 year old kid who would have originally lived to a hundred, accepted to be his student then Mark would gain 85 years of life added to the lifespan he already has.

The end of the two years turned out to be more chaotic than expected, riots, cults, property damage, crime and all other things were getting more common. Thankfully before it got any worse, massive interdimensinal portals opened up all around the globe to which humanity would have to enter in order to complete thier mission.

Mark was neither the last nor the first to enter into the portal but most definitely his stay inside would be like any other that had occurred and will have occurred.
