Why the Ancient Forest isn't a good place to visit

Why the Ancient Forest isn't a good place to visit

It was nothing more than your average day in the kingdom. The wind was gently swinging the tree branches, birds' chirping echoing trough the forest. Running swiftly trough the trees was Kenjin, after him one abnormal creature, seemingly chasing its future meal.

"Darn it why did I think I was ready to go this deep within the forest?"

His breathing became hasty, his whole body trying to get enough air to sustain itself. The monster was slowly catching up to him, flailing its tentacles around, aiming for the boy. Kenjin kept jumping and dodging, his stamina deplating with every move he made.

"Damn you, just stop and let me go you ugly creature! -yelled Kenjin while unseathing his sword- I'm not playing nice anymore!"

He threw himself at the monster, cutting as many tentacles as he could. The sounds coming from the monster soon drowned the forest, warning every living creature not to get close. Kenjin smirked, knowing that his offensive was working.

"Got you..."

He kept swinging and swinging, cutting trough meat and bones, a strange black liquid gushing out, dirtying the child. That was nowhere near enough to stop him.

It took a few minutes of chopping and cutting for the monster to fall. There he was, standing on his feet, his face emanating satisfaction, all while being covered in disgusting black blood.

"I knew my training would one day pay off..."
