2. I can't say I don't

“Just promise me one thing, don’t try anything funny after I untie you.”

Calming my mind, I realize this woman already has me in the palm of her hand. And after all, I am quite curious about where this is going, so let's just go with the flow.

“Fine.”

After she unties me, I circulate my power just to check the state of my body, and surprisingly, everything is healed. Guess I’m going to have to thank her for that…

“Thank you for healing me.”

“No problem, I mean I will need you in the best shape that you can be in later, but you’re welcome.”

This is all getting more and more intriguing every time she speaks to me, so now I think I’m just going to obey what she says for now.

“How are you going to prove to me your hate for violence?”

“Just show me your left hand.”

“You don’t mean… my sword ring? What are you going to do with that?”

Obeying her, I put my left hand near her. For a split second, I feel a want to pat her head, since she just looks so cute and sexy. Believing she won’t harm me, I reach out and begin patting her. Blushing, she asks me what I’m doing.

“Well, I got an urge to pat your head.”

“Alright then… it feels nice…”

Turning her head away from me, she looks even cuter than before.

“Can I show you now?”

Stopping the pats, I put my hand back in front of her. She gently slides the ring off of my hand and suddenly gets startled quite badly.

“What’s wrong?”

“I… can’t believe it! It’s the very first one!”

This novel's true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there.

“What do you mean by that?”

“Well, would you believe me if I told you I’m the one who made this sword ring?”

“Why bother asking? It’s pretty obvious I won’t believe you. After all, you’re the Queen of vampires…”

“Well, true… but let me tell you something that will blow your mind.”

“Um… what?”

“I wasn’t always a vampire. I used to be a human, until I got cursed...”

“Excuse me… so you’re saying… you got cursed and became a vampire?”

“Well, let me explain it to you from the start. When they gave you this sword ring, they must have told you a story, a story about the woman who created it and proceeded to fight with it, and then slayed the vampire king with it.”

“How do you know that they told me that?”

“I have spies everywhere. But that’s a different matter, so let's get back on topic.”

“Alright. I probably shouldn’t question that.”

“Spot on… anyways, what they don’t tell you is what happened to the woman after she slew the vampire king. You see, there is a curse on each ruler of the vampire kingdom, that any human who slays one becomes a vampire. Not just any vampire, but the king or queen of vampires.”

“So, you’re expecting me to believe you?”

“Well, let me demonstrate something.”

Slipping the ring onto her pointer finger on her left hand, she proceeds to do the unimaginable. She activates my sword! I mean how is a vampire able to activate my sword? Unless…

“It’s been quite a while since I last used you friend.”

The sword proceeds to… wiggle a bit?

“I know I know… those people at the church probably were mistreating you all the time… but don’t worry, you’re back with momma now.”

Wiggling again, the sword appears to be… happy? I don’t know how to say it, but it appears almost as if the sword is displaying emotions.

“What’s this? You don’t say…”

Is… she communicating with the sword?

“Oh, so he’s been a nice person to you? You want to stay with him?”

Who is she talking about? Surely it can’t be me, can it?

“Alright then. I trust you.”

Handing the ring back to me, she begins thanking me for taking care of the sword ring. Not understanding, I ask her what she means by that.

“Well, you took great care of him daily! Sharpening him, oiling him and cleaning him.”

“Ok, so that means the sword is happy with me, and due to that, you are too?”

“Yes! Well, do you believe me now?”

“Well, I can’t say I don’t. There’s literally no way you could have activated the sword without performing the ritual needed to bond with it, so that pretty much proves it.”

“Perfect! Now, let me explain to you what we need to do.”

“What do you mean ‘we’?”

“Oh right! Let me explain that.”
