Chapter 11 - Commotion in Twinsoul

Chapter 11 - Commotion in Twinsoul

A peaceful morning followed. Birds could be heard singing, and light breezes grazed across trees. The light from the sun illuminated the room causing Diavolo to wake up. Fluttering his eyelids in the light, he gathered up his consciousness and covered his eyes.

"Oh, I guess I fell asleep…" he thought and raised the same hand up to look at the bandaging.

"Huh? It kinda feels heavy," he thought as he tried, but couldn't pull out his other hand, the left. Turning his head, he gulped seeing Suzume's face only but a pinky length close to his. She was still fast asleep, and was using his arm as a body pillow.

Trying not to freak out, and somewhat succeeding, he just gazed at her sleeping face, simply savoring the peaceful atmosphere. "Honestly, she looks like there's not even a worry in the world when she's like this…" he told himself smiling.

His eyes started to take in the little details of her face. Those pink and soft, parted lips gave off a slight glaze under the sunlight. Her dense long eyelashes almost made it almost seem artificial. Her hair seemed to be a deep gray, but only in its roots. Her ears and nose looked so delicate that it could be confused as a baby's.

Even under the whiteness of her hair, her skin still looked fair. And being this close, he could also see its texture. Going down her gently rounded jawline, he filtered out the lock of hair that was covering her collarbones from his vision.

Further below, having pressed on his arm so tightly, the first button of her pajama had popped open, revealing a pleasant view of her bountiful valley. An ample bosom that would make any man want to dip his face into its crevice. Coupled with the sweet smell entering his nostrils and the soft breathing that tickled his neck, tension rose in his head and his heart rate skyrocketed.

Forget recovering from his morning wood! He couldn't even decide on whether he should wake her up or carry out the various influx of urges that drilled into his mind! Just at the moment he thought that he decided on an option—

"Suzu~! I'm baaack~!!" announced a voice from downstairs. Panicking, he sat straight up, ignoring any sort of injury he had and even dragging his left arm up with great speed. "ACK!" he let out a short yelp but again closed his mouth with both his hands.

Such a disturbance was more than enough to wake up Suzume. "Mmhmm….?" she mumbled as she rubbed her eyes.

BAM!! "GOOOD MORNIIIIIING~!!!" greeted a woman, slamming the door open in front of her. A height taller than Suzume, almost the same height as Diavolo. Had long, wavy, white hair tied up in a thick ponytail, and blue eyes. Her bangs covered practically her entire forehead and a couple of jaw-length locks running down beside her ears.

She had a healthy build and a little 'more' healthy on her chest and waist area. A passing thought said: 'She's even more well rounded than Suzume!'

Wearing black tank tops with a maroon short jacket over it, and deep blue half-jeans, she raised her arms up in delight after finally returning home.

Naturally surprised, "O-Onee-chan?!" Suzume jumped up with her eyes open and a nasty bed-hair.

"Oh!" a short sound came out of the woman's mouth followed by a pause, "Hey now, I know I gave you the freedom to choose your companion, but don't you think you're skipping too many steps right there?"

"N-No! It's not what you think, onee-chan!"

"Really? Your faces speak otherwise…" and walking towards Diavolo, "Oh, so you're the one she chose, huh? You're red all over. Were you thinking of something hot before I came in~?" she teased making a lewd face.

"U-Umm…" Diavolo stammered.

"Hehe, how cute. It's no use lying, you know. My eyes can look into the deepest of your regions…" she said and poked a finger on his chest, "So then…what were you planning to do, huh~?"

"I…I'M SO SORRYYYYYY!!!!!" he yelled and ran out of the house, all flustered, and jet-streamed across the street towards the Rose household.

"Woo! Look at him go!" she whistled, casually looking out of the window.

"Geez, you really need to know when to stop taking a joke too far, Onee-chan…" Suzume sighed.

"Geehee~! Sorry, sorry!" she laughed.

"Well? How did it go over there?" Suzume asked.

"Things finished up quickly so I returned early. And I'll tell you the details later. For now, get ready for school," she switched to a plain tone, "But before that, tell me one thing."

"Hmm?"

"He's the one, isn't he?"

Suzume didn't reply and simply looked down with a gloomy face.

"You can stay quiet all you want, but I already know. I sensed it. And I'm sure you have, too. And those wounds...must've been hard on him, huh..."

"Hmm..."

"I take it that you've explained the circumstances, right?" and after receiving a nod, "Good. It's better that way. I understand you're hesitating because of your ties with him, but he can't escape his destiny. Fate is finally beginning to unravel itself before him..."

"Yes…I understand."

"Hm? What's this?" She took a piece of paper that was on the study desk.

"Ah, it's the name of the leader who has started to cooperate with Hisao. The one who attacked us last night was his men. A lot of stuff happe— "

"What in the!" she cut her off and slammed the paper back. Sweat started to form on her forehead.

"Onee-chan?"

"Why? What does a top dog in the underworld have anything to do with Hisao?! What does he want?!" she trembled.

----------------------------------------

Meanwhile, Diavolo continued to stampede across the city back to Hannah's house. Paying no attention to the people around him, nor his wounds, he simply looked forward.

"What was that about? Who was she? No, Shiro said 'Onee-chan' so it's obvious. More like…WHAT'S HER DEAL~??!!...

「"My eyes can look into the deepest of your regions…"」

"…What did she mean by 'regions'?!..."

「"Hehe, how cute."」

He blushed, "Urgh! Get a grip on yourself, Diavolo! What happened, happened. More importantly…" "I'M GONNA BE LAAAAATE!!!!!!"

----------------------------------------

And at school…

"ARGH, I knew it! Now I'm pissed! How does he plan on coming here now, huh?!" (Hannah)

"Now, now, Hannah. Calm down please, alright?" (Yukio)

Shin simply giggled.

"What are you laughing at?! This isn't a joke!" (Hannah)

"No, ma'am! I didn't mean anything!" he replied like an obedient soldier. But internally, he was still laughing.

----------------------------------------

Back at the Rose household, Diavolo finally approached the main gate, where Stanley was waiting. "Mister Diavolo! Here you go!" he said and tossed a packed set of clothing and a school bag.

"Thanks!" he said, catching his uniform and immediately stripping on spot. It was fine, he assumed, since there was nobody around in the area. Stanley turned his back to him until he was done.

"Sorry! I'll leave my clothes here!" and he sprinted away with his casualwear scattered all around.

----------------------------------------

And after reaching school…

CLACK, "Sorry I'm late!!" Diavolo shouted as he slammed the sliding door open.

"AH! THERE YOU ARE!!" Hannah locked his head under her arm, "Do you even know how annoyed I am, huh? You spoilt brat!"

"Ack! Sorry, sorry! I give up!" he said, choking.

At that time, Hannah seemed to have ignored the injured body of Diavolo. However, that was not the case for other students. The whole class turned their faces to the transfer student. A padded cheek, a wrapped up left arm and right hand. There was another on his abdomen, but of course that wasn't visible.

An exceptional student who everybody looked in awe the previous day, was now covered in such injuries. Just what could've happened?

Adding to that, many noticed Hannah voluntarily calling out to the 'boycotted' girl, Suzume, who had arrived just as the bell rang. Multiple questions floated in their head. But nobody could ask so abruptly. Because…

"Hey, that's enough ruckus! Get back to your seats! And Signore, learn to be more punctual!" the teacher ordered.

"Yes…sorry," he sat down with a depressed look.

………

……

Finally getting the chance during lunch break, the silver haired boy's friends approached him with the question. "Well? I'd like an answer now. What's the meaning of these wounds?" Hannah asked.

"You had a fight?! You should've called me! Dammit, I missed a good action!!" Shin casually said. It's not like he didn't care, but that was how the two interacted to keep each other's spirits high.

"No, no, calm down! Everything's alright! I'm fine now!"

"No, you're not fine! Your fist is broken remember?!" and she grabbed his right hand, "The doctor told you not to be rough with—Huh?" she squeezed his fist.

"Hmm? What is it?"

"Doesn't it hurt?"

"Now that you mention it…"

"Whoa, did you do something awesome, Suzume?" (Shin)

"N-No, I just applied first aid."

"To think that you failed a grade and now you're even dragging a new kid down. You really are pathetic," a repulsive voice intervened, diverting all eyes to him.

He continued, "I'm right, aren't I? I mean, c'mon. There hasn't been one single student who was held back a grade since decades ago. That just shows how skillful people are getting nowadays. And then this girl showed up. You should've just dropped out. You're tarnishing the reputation of this school."

"What did ya say?!" (Shin)

"Hey Claude! Watch your mouth!" (Hannah)

"Hmph! If you think I'm wrong then ask her yourself! Why didn't she answer you herself, when u asked, about why he was running late? Why did she have to push the responsibility onto him to explain things? I'll tell you why, because lover-boy there would be perfect to make up excuses to prove her innocence! But no matter how you look at it, those wounds are proof of what you suffer if you get involved with her!"

During his speech, multiple students from different classes were gathering around the classroom. It was now common knowledge about 'the three prodigy transfer students' and they came to greet these people. But upon reaching, this was the spectacle they beheld.

"I saw it myself," Claude continued, "Since yesterday, she started to hang out with you, didn't she? And now, one of you has returned with a body that belongs in the hospital! There's no use denying it!

Congratulations Suzume Shiro! You successfully proved the rumors to be correct! You might've saved your ass last time thanks to your family, but you've repeated history yet again! Well? How does it feel?! Do you feel good about yourself?! How does it feel to be a wretched monster that deserves to be thrown out of the community?!"

Suzume could say nothing. After all, it was true that getting Diavolo involved caused this. She had no excuses. Her utter guilt made her look downwards, away from any eye contact. Her breath got slower as her heart sank. If she tried to regain her breath, a sniff would clearly be heard, revealing that she was on the path to cry.

"Hey! You're saying way too much! If anybody's a monster it's y—" but Hannah was interrupted with Diavolo suddenly standing up.

"Oi, you sure seem to love running your mouth a lot," he said in a calm voice. Calm, yet deep. There was no open raging, but his anger could be felt behind his words, "If you're such a big shot, why don't you let your fists do the talking? You wanna take this outside?"

Everybody watching, gasped. The new transfer student had just openly challenged the strongest person in the batch. And unlike before, when Diavolo was just a nobody, everybody now recognized his abilities. It wasn't treated as a joke this time. 'Transfer Student, Diavolo Signore vs Problem Child, Claude Brandt.' This was bound to be big news!

"Whoa, so scary~! Heh! Don't be so full of yourself just because you got a head start with Raze. You're still an amateur who doesn't even know what your material element is. Just a child barking at adults. You don't stand a chance!

But you've sure got guts to say that in your state. Fine then! I'll put you back in your place! First thing after school, meet me in the abandoned parking garage a mile away from here."

"Why wait for after school if we can settle this now?" Diavolo further taunted.

Everybody gasped again. Oh man, the transfer student was getting really daring! Was what they were thinking. Some were sweating because of the trouble arising, and some were getting revved up to see some good action.

But in the midst of the commotion, Suzume got up and grabbed Diavolo's arm with concern in her eyes.

"What's wrong? Don't worry, I'll make him eat his words soon," he consoled her.

However, Suzume shook her head vigorously, trying to convey that there was no need for him to do so. Not only trouble outside, but problems here in school as well. If he did so, his life would be turned over. All the while without raising her head, she silently begged him with her hands trembling.

"Oh my! What do we have here?" a girl about the height of Yukio entered. She was fair, and had a babyface and violet eyes. Her blonde hair was tied up into a pair of large ringlets. Her tone and way of handling her movements just spoke out the word 'nobility'. Unlike Hannah, who gave off 'elegance', this girl sent out 'vibrance'.

Following her, came two more girls with similar air around them, but clearly paled in comparison to the one who intervened.

"Eh? Who is she?" Shin asked, slightly displeased at the interruption.

Hannah gave a big sigh for some reason and explained, "She's Elaine J. Tulip, the second daughter of the Minister governing Setillia City. Being a trade center, it is the least likely place to go bankrupt, so she's pretty well off. Probably even more wealthy than our family."

Pridefully fluttering her hair, "Elaine J. Tulip is the name. Thank you for the introduction, Miss Hannah."

"You know her?"

"Well...we go a long way back."

Elaine, brandishing her extravagant hand fan, now faced Claude, "I'm sorry Mr. Brandt, but if you harm these boys, you'll be making an enemy out of the Tulip Family!" she declared.

"Huh?" he raised an eyebrow. And he wasn't the only one confused.

"Why the sudden look? It is only obvious! After all, I'm taking these transferees under my wing!"

"WHAT?! Miss Elaine, what are you saying all of a sudden?!" (Hannah)

"It is a wonderful idea, don't you think so, boys? Even under the Rose's care, to be treated so brutally, is just too tough on you, isn't it? I've heard about, you know? The three of you come from a small island that has utterly no influence on the world. If you leave her and come to our Tulip family, you will be treated with utmost care! Naturally, once you've all been properly nurtured, you shall serve under me!" And she was about to make a move on Shin with her large bosom, when suddenly, Hannah intervened and blocked her path.

"These three aren't going anywhere, Miss Elaine!" she frowned.

"Oh, my! But why does it matter to you so much, Miss Hannah? I know for a fact that you simply took them in because they had no other place to stay. Other than that, you practically have no true purpose, do you? However, I do!

These boys will also have a proper place to stay, will they not? And it's not like you cannot meet them again. They'll be allowed to visit whenever they're off-duty! Or is it perhaps…" and she hid half her face with her fan, giving a teasing look, "You have a 'different' reason for wanting them under you? Something like...love?"

"Gu-! W-what?!" she made a crooked face and turned red.

"Ahahaha! I must've hit the mark, haven't I? Well, which one is it? The muscular Mister Ron? The cute Mister Hitoshi? Or is it...the daring Mister Signore? Or perhaps even...all of them?"

"W-what ridiculousness are you spouting all of a sudden!!"

"Oh my, the proud Rose Family Heir living under the same roof as three unknown boys with no true political purpose! The Student Council President unable to choose among which of them she must take into her bosom! My, how scandalous!" she put her hands on her cheeks and stared up at the ceiling, allowing her fantasies to run wild.

"What nonsense is this, Miss Elaine! Cease this disgraceful behaviour! You're being disrespectful!" said a stern voice as another girl entered.

Her shoulder length (slightly longer actually), dark blue (almost black) hair was kept in a hime cut and a thin ribbon tied to the back of her head, making a small ponytail. She had clear, black eyes and a thin face; which also went well with her slim figure. The aura around her resounded 'diligence'!

This girl was Fiona G. Lobelia, first daughter of the Minister governing the Capital City Dimelia. She was also the niece of the country's President himself.

"Ah, Miss Fiona! Came to spread your uncle's name again?"

"I wouldn't do something as prideless as that, Miss Elaine! More importantly, I have come to take in these young men under me! I have recognized their potential, and thus feel the need to train them! The Rose Family is too lax! Under my care, they shall be turned into seasoned knights!

I have heard, young men! That you left your abode in search for strength! Then this choice would not be any better! Come, let us serve our proud country Dimelia with our utmost abilities!" she strongly declared.

"That is foolishness, Miss Fiona!" shouted a cute voice… but nobody could determine the source. "H-hey, move away!" and from the dense crowd, emerged a short girl, shorter than Hannah, into the classroom.

She had an incredibly round, bubbly face, blue eyes and light purple hair that was tied into twin-tails. The dense collection of wavy hair bounced with every little step she took. She was someone who would definitely look good in fluffy or frilly clothing.

Her aura spoke out 'cute!' every time she took a step forward with her seemingly weightless body. A girl that looked like she always needed protection from the smallest of dangers. A girl who anybody would just want to pick up and cuddle.

Her name was Teresa C. Allium, fourth daughter of the only Minister governing both the cities of Cruxio and Frugel. A fearsome power, people say.

"Your training would wear them out!" her ear pleasing voice continued, "As they are now, they are just ripe enough to be fodder to my pets. I don't want you to make them as flaccid as your father's crotch!" harsh words unbefitting her spewed out, the tip of her little fangs peeking out from the edges of her small mouth.

"I don't want to use the old men back home. Their meat would upset my cuties' tummies! And besides, doing that would decrease our forces. But these kids are perfect! Well then, how about it? Be grateful that you get to be meal for my cute little beasts!"

Whoa, what was that??!! Scaaaryyy~~~!!! was what anybody would think if they heard her speech for the first time.

Teresa didn't like people underestimating her for looking so innocent, so she terrified people with her threats. Except, they were not just threats, but what she actually did do to people she warned previously. This was her true nature, the aura of 'tyranny'.

"W-what are you doing, using such indecent words, Miss Teresa! Just how much further do you wish to taint your reputation?!"

"Yes, yes, why don't you go home and tell 'blue balls' that?"

"Kuh! Insolence! Miss Teresa, even if you are nobility, that manner of speech is inexcusable! Do you wish to seek conflict with our faction?"

"Well, while you keep yourselves busy with your little chit-chat, I will be taking my manservants, okay?"

"They shall be my knights!" "They're my fodder!" they shout in unison.

"I have been telling you guys...THEY'RE NOT GOING TO LEAVE!!!"

To see these four people in a single room was a rare scene for the students.

The Rose of Derdalf [elegance and power]

The Tulip of Setillia [vibrancy and pride]

The Lobelia of Dimelia [diligence and dignity]

The Allium of Cruxio and Frugel [cuteness and tyranny]

These four girls were the highest nobility amongst students in the entirety of Twinsoul Academy's high school division. One could say they represented the 'face' of the current generation. Or at least that would've been the case if they weren't quarrelling on such a meaningless topic.

And in this way, what began as a serious confrontation during lunch break, was reduced to mere children's bickering.

----------------------------------------

School was over and it was finally time for the showdown. Only...it wasn't. Till now, during three days a week, the students have been having a free period in the end, where they could simply return home early, if they wanted to. But since the first month was done, this time was replaced with combat class.

Everybody stood in a disciplined line while the instructor made his final preparations. The man was really bulky. His face itself had strong features: thick jaws, large chin, small round eyes, and veins visible on his forehead even in his normal state. The sheer embodiment of muscle and bones. If a steamroller or bulldozer was a human, this man would probably be it.

"Hey, I wanted to ask this sooner, Hannah, but you're wearing a hairband all of a sudden. Did something happen?" Diavolo asked for her new change.

"Nothing…" she replied after a short pause and looked away.

Shin was blushing a little for some reason, which Diavolo noticed. Just as he was about to ask, Yukio tapped him from the other side, "Leave it be, Diavolo," he said, and ended with a giggle.

The poor silver-haired boy was left behind all confused. But that didn't matter, because the lesson had just begun.

"Alright soldiers!" the strong voice announced, "I bet you've had things real lax this past month! Well I hope you've savoured it enough, cause things are gonna be different from now on!

You must be thinking you're all big and strong, with only two years left till you graduate! Well then, I'm gonna treat you as such! I'm not gonna go into all the nitty gritty details of weapon types and battle positions! That's all been done in the past!

Even if you're a newbie, here in Twinsoul, we EXPECT," and he seemed to put a lot of emphasis into that word, "that you all know your shit if you've come to this stage! Do I have myself clear!!!" and he glanced at all the new transferees that came this year.

"YES SIR!!!" they all resounded.

"GOOD! Now, for the main topic for today! I'm sure you already know some of it! It's the classification of weapons! And I'm not talking about stuff like range weapons and melee and the like, that's for babies! Today's lesson is: classification by generations!"

And of course, while the three boys were left with confused expressions, others seemed to get quite excited. Although, they tried not to show too much hyper enthusiasm or they'd get in trouble.

"Right off the bat, I'll get this over with since I'm sure most of you are psyched for it! After all, it's been a hot topic for a few recent years! It's the 3rd generation!" and he reached out to a blackboard behind him.

"These weapons here, after decades of research and experimentation, have finally been completed! After the prototype that was released 12 years ago, these have become quite the useful luxury!

These weapons, unlike any other generations, are entirely imbued with crystal within them! And thus, in doing so, allows its user's energy to be entirely distributed throughout it! This makes it much easier to use in actual combat and also more effective!

However, there's a catch! Besides the pricing, 3rd generation weapons tend to need a minimum sync rate, similar to a start-up voltage! If you don't meet that minimum synchronization, forget using it in combat, it won't even respond to you!

But of course, as technology develops, the usability of these weapons have greatly improved! Not only has the minimum sync requirement decreased, but a few that don't even require the user to have a specific Material affinity have started to pop up!

And also, to add to that, some of them, unlike before, are capable of recycling the energy given into it, back into the user! What a time to be alive, ay!"

Yet again, as their fellow classmates' eyes sparkled, the island trio didn't respond much. They did understand what was being said, and thought that these 3rd third generation weapons were probably quite awesome, but having nothing to compare to, they naturally didn't feel the buzz.

"And finally, is these weapons' true form! A privilege granted only to people who can use Raze, an infinite source of energy! A separate portion of the complex crystal structure exists which can detect if the energy sent into it is Raze or not! Note that this does NOT disregard the requirement of a proper sync!

Once the conditions are met, the weapon is capable of transforming into a shape which is most suitable for the user holding it! Becoming larger, smaller, more or less complexly shaped, whatever! It will happen! At times, depending on the limitations of the weapon, it can even turn into a completely different weapon! Although if you're in the middle of a battle, you'd have to switch your fighting style very suddenly, which is a different problem on its own! GAHAHAHAHAHA!"

And immediately, all eyes were on Diavolo, the only one among them, who already knew how to use Raze. Quite the attention he was gathering, but it couldn't be helped.

"And now, for 2nd generations!" but then, all motivation was lost.

"HEY! I explained the most interesting one right away for you rascals' sake! If I started off with older gens, you'd be too focused on waiting for the 3rd to even listen properly! Now that I've gotten that out of the way, it's much easier to notice your lack of attention! If I see you dozing off or not focusing, YOU'RE DEAD!"

And by that thunderous roar, all eyes were affixed back to where they were supposed to look. No irregular breathing, no sweating. Pure focus.

"THAT'S MORE LIKE IT! NOW LISTEN UP!" once again reaching for the board, "2nd generations, first of all, do not have a full-body crystal structure. The crystal is either within the hilt or as a pure gem attached on the guard! Some don't even have crystals at all, and are basically like your common house tools! Although even house tools now have crystals in them these days… dear god, these lazy farts!

Anyways! This makes them much easier to produce since both the crystal amount and the complexity isn't high! And thus, these kinds require no sync rate! However, they do need appropriate Material affinity at times!

And as you may expect, since they do not have a crystal distributed all throughout the weapon, it's the user's job to embody it with energy. This not only makes the weapons more difficult to use during combat, but also the energy enveloping it is quite 'loose', unlike the 3rd gen where they are internal and concentrated! Further adding to it, they have absolutely no recycling function, and can end up being stressful to use at times!

Creating full crystal weapons is not only difficult to make because of the greater size and internal complexity, but the manufacturers also needed to take into consideration the overall shape of the target weapon to ensure proper distribution of energy! Simply having the whole weapon contain crystals to get rid of the problems of the 2nd generation needed decades of research! So you can see why it was a big deal when it was finally done!

Regardless, they are cheap and still useful, and are thus still widely used even now! Oh, and they don't have an 'awakening' function either, so it doesn't matter if you use Raze or Natura! Even if they have their problems, it's a shame that the public criticizes them as 'Failure Weapons'.

Anyways, that is all! Any questions?!" he concluded.

The instructor seemed to quite passionately describe away. Carefully pointing around on his diagrams, he even used his own Raze as an example for certain demonstrations. His students were afraid of him, but they also found him charming. As such, they had no further questions to ask for the moment, not because they were afraid of getting scolded or even insulted for being dumb, but they truly had nothing else to ask.

Even if a very obvious question was just staring at them in the face.

And so, the silver haired transfer student did the honor and raised his hand.

"Um...but what about the 1st generation?"

And again, all eyes were pointed at Diavolo. But this time, it was not out of envy and admiration, but of terror and confusion.

'This boy doesn't know?! Or is he poking fun at the instructor?!' was what was going through their heads.

Nobody knew the details about 1st generation weapons. Rather, they didn't need to. This was because… a simple sentence was all that was needed to make them refrain from asking further. It was what these weapons were called.

The instructor, without a word, walked slowly towards Diavolo. He stood right in front of him and bent down until their noses were but a finger's width away. And he spoke in a deep tone…

"We do not talk about 1st generation weapons. Do I make myself clear?"

"Y-yes… sir…" he nervously said.

"I can't hear you… DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR?!!" he said, opening his mouth wide and droplets of spit spraying out.

"YES SIR!!!"

"GOOD! YOU BETTER REMEMBER THAT, SOLDIER!!" and he turned back to his board and trotted away. The students let out a sigh of relief as if they just survived a storm.

'Is he an idiot?' 'That was so scary, man!' 'I feel so sorry for him!' was what could be heard from here and there.

"But all I did was ask a question!" Diavolo complained in his head.

In fact, it was not just him. Both Shin and Yukio also had the same question. Diavolo simply took the step earlier. If he had waited a few more seconds, one of them would've asked that same question. But right now, they were simply rejoicing for not having done that.

"Sorry about that! I should've let you know earlier. I'll tell you about it when we return home, 'kay?" Hannah whispered to Diavolo, although it was directed at all three of them.

………

……

...

"Okay, ya little rascals! That'll be all for today! The real action will begin from next class! And for that, I EXPECT," again with the emphasis, "that you already have a weapon selected! I bet you don't wanna know what happens if you don't have one prepared by then, right?!"

Everybody shook their heads.

"GOOD! Now get outta here!"

That was how their first lesson ended. A simple oral lesson and a few warm ups.

Leaving the building, students would usually think about exciting new weapons to try out on days like this. But that was not the case this time. After all, a potential game changing duel was going to be held in a few minutes.
