Day 7
In retrospect, summoning a demon without some kindof sci-fi app is pretty simple. Good old fashioned pentagram inscribed in a circle, drawn in the summoner's blood. 'Cept I'm not the healthiest or best fed person, so using blood all the time isn't going to work. It took me a week to get around this! Turns out salt(coarse grain) works as a substitute, as long as you finish the circle with some blood.
With all that said, its time to ask and answer a question.
Q: What is the first demon you should summon/contract with in a SMT type situation
A: Something with Dia
To elaborate, the MOST inconsitent thing in SMT games always seemed, for me, to be healing. You get demons with healing spells but people still die from injuries or get hurt all the time. Therefor, finding a demon with healing magic and testing HOW that magic works is CRUCIAL INFORMATION. So, given that this is an SMT-type situation, observation/cognition plays a big role in how things play out. Therefor, while developing the summoning ritual, I spent a lot of time saying the following;
"[Fairy] demons are mischievous and not big into eating or killing humans. They can spek most European languages. They have a spell called Dia that allows them to heal slighlty compared to the strongest healing magics in existence. That is to say Dia can fully heal weak demons or humans of comparable strength to weak demons."
I said that at least 10 times a day to have an affect on the demon I wanted to summon. Also, its important to be as specific as possible and practise the lines. No matter what you need to be able to say stuff like that on command, as a precaution. Demons aren't humans, if the smmoning goes bad you could get eaten. Therefore, I said it while making my summoning circle and once the [Fairy] appeared. I'm not sure how effective it is, but the [Fairy] was exactly what I wanted to summon so *shrugs* I guess you just gotta believe.
I apologize for that joke *cough*

Anyway... Here is a dramatic retelling of my first succesful demon contract.
The only sounds in the house were the creaking of the wood and the demonic chanting of a man. A scene normally prevaded by the clap of thunder in the darkest night was instead occuring at the sunniest part of the day. Because of that, the scene was almost more frightening, as if the mystical were made tangible, the illusion of fantasy striped bare and made mundane. The creepy manner in which the man stood, as if he were walking on thin ice, compounded with the tension in his gaze and voice to make the morton salt container in his hand seem complimentary instead of laughable. As he moved around the living room, he poured a bit of salt in time with the creaking of the wood while matching tempo with his chanting. Demonic was the most apt word, a man turning into a demon.
The noises stopped. No more salt, no more chanting, no more creaking. Out of his pocket, the man procured a knife and slowly, trembling, pricked his thumb just enough to drip a single drop of blood. When it dropped and touched the symbol of salt on the floor, he chanted once more before making a new intonation. "I summon forth a [Fairy] of lowest strength with no defections for the purpose of a contract, let it be so!"
A tear apeared above the circle and from it emerged a small [Fairy]. Most of the [Fairy] was incased in light, but the vague figure of a backpack sized winged female was discernable in the mid-day sunlight. The man smile, and began to speak authoritatatively to the [Fairy] "I have summoned you to make a contract, do you understand what I-"
"Hey Listen. Hey Listen. Hey Listen. Hey Listen. Hey Listen. Hey Listen. Hey Listen. Hey Listen. Hey Listen. Hey Listen. Hey Listen. Hey Listen. Hey Listen. Hey Listen. "
It took about 10 miuntes for my ears to adjust to the [Fairy]'s voice. After that I was able to ask the classic "Hey for Yes, Listen for No." and also "Hey for 1, Listen for 0, do you morse code?" lines. Fortunately, she did know morse code. After confirming the contract, which was " I'll give you a name and spread it around if you appear when I summon you, k?" "HEY" I went to sleep to deal with my splitting headache.
