Chapter 9: Twin Star Spin Kill

"Command! All mechas gather around mecha number 7. Once assembled, return immediately."

After issuing this order, Sanchiras still felt uneasy and immediately added, "All non-combat personnel, board the ship immediately. Also, anyone with a mecha, get it out now!"

With that, Sanchiras ignored the panicked staff and strode toward the ship. For his own safety, he had no choice but to join the fight.

Clenching his fists, a cold smile appeared on Sanchiras's lips.

"Whoever you are, I, Sanchiras, will make sure you don't leave here alive!"

Watching the cluster of red dots on the mecha's screen that seemed to be gathering together, Yun Yi gave up on chasing the remaining mecha warriors. His mecha's active radar was turned off, which had both advantages and disadvantages.

Without the various detection rays, he couldn't accurately and timely determine the enemy's location. However, the enemy also couldn't detect his position. To locate the enemy, Yun Yi relied entirely on his exceptional eyesight.

Using the passive radar to absorb the enemy's detection waves, he could determine their general direction. Then, with his eagle-like vision, he would spot the enemy mecha and deliver a precise, devastating strike before they could react, instantly eliminating them.

After taking out eight mechas, the enemy no longer dared to spread out their forces, which somewhat thwarted Yun Yi's plan.

His original idea was to eliminate all the mecha warriors in the wild, leaving the staff with no strength to resist his assault, and the ship would then belong to him.

But now that the enemy had gathered, continuing this strategy would risk his situation being reported back to their ship by any mechas he didn't take out in time.

If the enemy realized they were no match for him and decided to flee in their ship, only to return with more forces later, that would be disastrous.

It seemed the plan needed to change.

Yun Yi stretched and flexed his hands slightly before piloting his mecha toward the ship at full speed.

He was very satisfied with his performance.

When facing the first opponent, he could immediately tell that the rookie was just an ordinary fifth-level warrior. Although he had imagined the fight would be straightforward, even Yun Yi hadn't expected to instantly kill the mecha with a single strike!

Was he really that powerful now?

After taking down the enemy, Yun Yi seemed to doubt his own abilities. But the mecha lying on the ground, its control room pierced by his blade, was undeniable proof.

One strike, one kill!

Was this really his level?

Yun Yi was still unsure, so he hurriedly moved toward the second mecha nearby. After taking out five mechas in quick succession, his confidence soared. When he noticed three mechas approaching, Yun Yi hid in the sand, ambushing them as they landed. With his superhuman eyesight, he accurately shot the farthest mecha with a single cannon blast, stunning the pilot, then swiftly pierced the nearest mecha with his blade. The last mecha was destroyed by a spinning strike from Yun Yi's bare-handed combat skills, its control room shattered, and the unfortunate pilot reduced to a pulp.

The entire process took less than a second.

In such a short time, the enemy couldn't send out any information. Even though Yun Yi had pre-programmed some of the possible commands into short sequences before the ambush, his hands still felt like they were cramping after the fight.

After taking down the stunned mecha warrior, Yun Yi looked at his trembling hands and smiled bitterly. He realized that his hand speed couldn't keep up with his thoughts. Short bursts were manageable, but over time, operational errors would inevitably occur.

It seemed he needed to work on improving his hand speed.

As the ship gradually came into view in the distance, Yun Yi stopped reminiscing about the battle. Reviewing and summarizing the fight immediately afterward often helped him identify his shortcomings. But now wasn't the time for that.

The ship, over seven hundred meters long, was parked steadily, showing no signs of movement.

Beneath the ship, five mechas were stationed.

Apart from the two modified mechas at the front, whose models Yun Yi couldn't identify, the remaining three were low-end mechas, likely just filler.

"Who are you?"

The lead black mecha issued a query, but Yun Yi had no intention of responding. Based on his calculations, the eight mechas gathering nearby would arrive here in about twelve minutes. He had to take out the five mechas in front of him within that time, or he'd be caught in a pincer attack.

The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

Without hesitation, Yun Yi targeted the lead black mecha and charged forward. The Red Mane III was like a wild horse unleashed, its unstoppable momentum immediately causing the three low-level mechas to retreat a few steps.

"Hmph! Let me, Sanchiras, see what you're made of. Santan, stand aside. Those three are useless!"

Sanchiras didn't use the internal channel, so Yun Yi heard his name.

"Sanchiras..."

Over the past year, Yun Yi had often thought of this name. This was the man who had destroyed the entire 302nd Squadron, slaughtering his comrades. Every moment, Yun Yi had imagined the day he would face this eighth-level warrior and cut him down. Now, the opportunity had arrived!

Sanchiras assumed a defensive stance, showing great proficiency. The other black mecha, presumably Santan, along with the three low-level mechas, immediately retreated and stood by the ship, observing.

As Yun Yi charged toward Sanchiras, he suddenly drew an alloy longsword and thrust it diagonally through a gap in Sanchiras's defense.

In the first move, Sanchiras's forehead was covered in cold sweat. He couldn't believe the opponent had spotted the flaw in his defense so quickly. Even when practicing with the family's tenth-level instructor, the flaw hadn't been detected this swiftly.

Who was he facing?

Despite his thoughts, Sanchiras knew he couldn't defend against the opponent's relentless assault and quickly retreated, using distance to mitigate his disadvantage.

However, his mecha, in line with the government forces' tradition, prioritized defense over offense, and even its speed couldn't match the Red Mane III, widely used by the Restoration Army.

"It seems I'll have to use that move." After several exchanges, Sanchiras hadn't gained any advantage. Instead, he was steadily retreating under the opponent's fierce attacks. If this continued, he had no chance of winning. A glint appeared in Sanchiras's eyes, and his mecha stopped retreating. Just as Yun Yi's blade struck, Sanchiras leaped into the air...

"Butterfly Slash!" Sanchiras roared. The mecha's shoulders instantly launched two missiles, followed by the mecha's bulky frame, which somehow managed to appear graceful. With a flashy move, Sanchiras swung his longsword toward Yun Yi.

"Butterfly...?"

Sanchiras hadn't switched channels, and Yun Yi was momentarily stunned. Although he hadn't seen this combat technique before, it was clearly a dazzling one. Watching Sanchiras's movements, it did resemble a butterfly. However, while this move might look elegant on a slim, female mecha, on Sanchiras's bulky frame, it looked more like a pig dancing—utterly grotesque.

But grotesque or not, the technique had power.

Yun Yi carefully observed the trajectory of the attack, his hands firing a dense barrage of bullets, which were highly effective at close range for intercepting missiles.

"Boom..."

The missiles exploded mid-air, kicking up sand and obscuring the view in the gray-yellow sky.

There!

Yun Yi's eyes widened, and his hands flew over the control panel. The mecha dodged the attack in an extremely peculiar manner. He hadn't expected the Butterfly Slash to be so dangerous.

In that split second, Yun Yi was horrified to discover that Sanchiras's blade had tightly enveloped him. If he had made even the slightest mistake, the overwhelming blade would have sliced his mecha in two. At best, he would have lost his left arm.

Fortunately, Yun Yi's enhanced brain temporarily surged, allowing him to dodge this fatal move.

The Butterfly Slash was indeed formidable. Even in Sanchiras's clumsy execution, its power was astonishing. In Yun Yi's eyes, it was on par with the signature moves of famous competitors in major mecha tournaments.

Yun Yi was shocked, but Sanchiras was even more so.

A chance encounter in his youth had allowed him to learn this powerful technique. He had always kept it as his trump card, and anyone who had seen him use it, apart from a few family members, had been killed by him.

Once, when Sanchiras was only at the seventh level, he had used this move to kill an opponent above the eighth level.

The Butterfly Slash was undoubtedly powerful, but since Sanchiras's mecha was a heavy model, its effectiveness was somewhat diminished. However, Sanchiras had his own method: launching two missiles before the slash to maximize the confusion for the enemy.

With this move, he had always been invincible.

But never had he imagined that on this desolate, uninhabited planet, someone would dodge his attack.

And this person, from what he could tell, was definitely not above the eighth level!

"Die!"

Remembering how close he had come to death moments ago, Yun Yi's anger surged.

A combat technique? You have one, and so do I!

"Twin Star Spin Kill!"

In an instant, Yun Yi's Red Mane III spun like a top, charging toward Sanchiras. The overwhelming killing intent and terrifying momentum made Sanchiras feel a chill.

How to dodge? How could he dodge this move?

The usually calm Sanchiras was thrown into chaos by this Twin Star Spin Kill.

Retreat? No, the opponent's speed far exceeded his.

Left or right? No, he was completely enveloped in the opponent's attack.

Up or down? No, there was no escape.

It seemed there was no way to evade this seemingly invincible technique!

Watching the rapidly approaching mecha, Sanchiras could only raise his arms to shield the control room, relying on the mecha's superior defense to withstand Yun Yi's attack.

But it was futile.

At such high speed, the mecha's weapon would possess immense power, something no ordinary mecha could withstand.

"Slash..."

Two flashes of light...

When the dust settled, Santan and the others, hiding by the ship, stared in disbelief.

This couldn't be real!

In his eyes, his nearly invincible brother couldn't be defeated by such a person. But the reality before him proved that nothing was impossible.

Sanchiras's black mecha still stood there.

But its arms were no longer attached.

Without arms, the mecha was like a toothless, clawless tiger, at the mercy of its opponent.

And outside the mecha's control room was a massive alloy longsword.

"I... surrender!" Sanchiras's face turned pale. He couldn't imagine how this mysterious mecha, living on this alien planet for a year and three months, had learned such a powerful technique.

Under the overwhelming momentum, all of Sanchiras's confidence had been shattered.

"Surrender?" A smile appeared on Yun Yi's lips as he remembered his comrades on the Thunderclap, the old man who had brought him aboard, and the captain who had taught him to pilot the Red Mane III...

"That's impossible!"

The longsword plunged into the mecha's control room and slowly withdrew. Streams of blood flowed from the cracks in the control room.

Yun Yi didn't bother checking if Sanchiras was dead. He was confident that under the high-frequency vibration of the alloy longsword, there would be no survivors.

"And you? Death or surrender?"

Standing tall like a war god, the red mecha exuded an overwhelming killing intent, as if warning Santan and the others not to resist, or they would surely die...

"We surrender, we surrender..."

At that moment, the twelve mechas also returned. Just as Yun Yi prepared for a tough battle, he saw that all the mechas had sent surrender communications.

It turned out that during Yun Yi's fight with Sanchiras, they had arrived. After witnessing the stunning battle, their strongest fighter, Sanchiras, had been killed by Yun Yi. At that point, they couldn't muster even a shred of courage to fight Yun Yi.

In this battle, Yun Yi, with a single mecha, captured thirteen mecha warriors, 436 members of the Sanchiras family's government forces, and an intact ship.
