Chapter 2: Two Embers

Chapter 2: Two Embers

In a dark and secluded corner of the Mercenary Guild’s Communications Hub in the dead of night, a white haired girl switches on a Communication’s Terminal to have a little private chat with an old friend.

“...Hello? Hello?” A voice calls from the fuzzy video call, their figure obscured by the disrupting static, “Do you read me, Navia?”

“Yes, Ren. Is the channel encrypted?” The white girl asks quizzically.

The static on the screen slowly dissipates and the video display begins to stabilize to show the face of a messy haired blonde boy with blue eyes and a playful grin, “Yo, Navia! C-Rank merc now are we?” He comments with a chuckle.

Navia rolls her ruby eyes and ignores Ren’s attempt at some playful banter, “Get straight to the point, Ren. I’m busy.”

“Aww, the cold soldier doesn’t want to play~” Ren pouts before his face turns steely and dour, “Alright, Navia. I managed to hijack a mission for you, coming from the Plasidax Corporation.”

Navia hums but does not comment; Ren takes it as a sign to continue, “Plasidax wants a mercenary to tear down some stuff at a Lux airbase in the Outlands, located in Sector 5 of the Borders.”

Navia hums again, “Pretty close to the city, are they not afraid of Overseer? Or at least someone catching on?”

Ren shakes his head, his messy yet fluffy hair swaying with the motion, “They preemptively hired some hackers to set up jammers against that AI, along with Lux’s security measures so they can have free reign. It’s nothing for you to worry about, they’ll deal with the fallout once Lux and Overseer catch on to the operation.”

Navia nods to Ren’s observations, “Send me the briefing.” She says flatly.

Ren nods and exclaims with a grin, “You’re gonna like what I show you, I promise~”

The video shutters and snaps to a man an black haired man wearing a slick suit.

“Greetings, Asta. This is an encrypted request coming from the Plasidax Corporation.”

“To cut to the chase, there are three experimental crafts within the Sector 5 airbase, designated A-1009, B-2811, and C-0928. Retrieve classified files regarding these aircrafts for us, and then commence a search and destroy for them. That is all, you will not be supervised for this mission, best of luck.”

The video display switches back to Ren, who says with a grin, “Hear that? Unsupervised! And it’s legit too, I triple checked through their operations and found out no one will be tailing you! You can do as you please within enemy territory! So long as you complete the contract of course.”

Navia nods, but then places her hands to her hips and says with the same colorless voice, “Oh, then what about the identity issue? If you couldn’t tell, I’m not this ‘Asta’ person.”

Ren cocks his head and cracks his knuckles, and exclaims with a sly smile, “Just leave it to me!”

Navia’s lips twitched into a small smile, “I knew I could count on you.” She says warmly, making the usually unserious blonde flushed.

“Aha, you usually never say such things to me… What changed now? Good mood?”

Navia nods, “Good mood, especially after your efforts.”

Ren smiles and hums with fiery delight, “That’s good to hear, Navia. Good luck out there ya hear?”

Navia grunts in response, “Same to you, Ren. Until next time.”

Ren gives the white haired girl a small wave, “Until next time, Navia!” He declares before he closes comms, leaving the girl in solitude once more.

----------------------------------------

In the gusty and barren landscape of the Outlands there sits an airbase that flies under the banner of Lux. Decontaminated from Absomist, shielded by a photon barrier, and guarded by high walls, it is fully prepared to withstand whatever challenges Elysium has to throw at it.

Infiltration, however, is not one of those challenges.

“Good evening, Miss–Bzzt– Asta.”

Neither the card reader nor the biometrics module expected anything out of the ordinary from this white haired security guard, courtesy of Ren’s and Lux Industries’ hijacking of the security systems.

The white haired girl enters the airfield, taking in the sight of aircrafts of all kinds flying high across dusty blue skies and remaining idle on the paved ground. Various workers, pilots, and guards roam the area, all going from point A to B to complete their tasks for the day, not noticing anything out of the ordinary as the smell of burning fuel and the sounds of screaming propulsion boosters waft over all of them.

‘Infiltration successful, now to get into their private databank.’ Navia muses, slipping past guards and workers swiftly and smoothly as she crosses the airfield and several aircraft hangars.

Soon, she finds herself deep within Lux territory and inside of a very large facility, sleek and white, with many white robed men and gray dressed workers moving at a hastily through the many faculties of the building.

‘This is the research base.’ She surmises, picking up pace through the sterile halls, knowing that her goal should be close.

“Hey, you! What are you doing?”

Navia hitches her breath, closes her eyes, and turns around to greet her new “friend”.

“Hello, Mister..?”

“Greyfield.” The white coated man shows a hand, “Call me Greyfield, miss..?”

“...Navia.” She takes it with a solemn shake.

“I can’t help but wonder what you’re doing, walking in such brisk strides.” He says with a dopey smile, his brown bangs just barely showing his spectacled hazel eyes.

I am told by my superiors that there must be extra security over by the private databank,” Navia states, her stone face not giving way to this intrusive stranger, “but I can’t seem to find it, maybe you can guide me, Mister Greyfield?”

The robed man happily nods, “Of course! Just follow me, Miss Navia!” He exclaims jovially.

And so they walk in step with each other, winding down twisting corridors and enduring the sterile scent of research emanating throughout the facility.

“So, Miss Navia, care to tell me why extra security is a concern over the databank?” Greyfield inquires.

“We caught wind of an enemy operation to infiltrate the databank,” Navia answers swiftly, “but that is none of your concern, and the enemy in question is classified until further notice.”

Greyfield hums in understanding, but something makes him cock a brow, “Is that so? Shouldn’t this intel be restricted to high ranking officers? Guardswoman Navia?”

“It was disseminated quickly amongst the ranks for the sake of alertness. No more questions, please.” Navia dismisses.

“If that’s the case, then wouldn’t all of us be alerted? So that we’re all aware of the threat?”

“...You’re testing me, aren’t you Greyfield?” Navia says sharply, side-eyeing the man in white by her side.

“And your answer tells me that I should give you a failing grade, intruder.” Greyfield replies with a sly grin.

“What do you want from me?” Navia asserts plainly with her arms crossed.

“Initially to find out what you were up to, but now that I know you’re an intruder likely working under a company judging by your answers, then I want money.”

Navia’s brow raises, but answers flatly all the same. “You want to hold me for ransom? Money in exchange for not tattling?”

Greyfield snaps his fingers cockily, “That’s right, Miss Navia.”

Navia rummages through her pocket, taking out a small triangular device molded in the shining colors of violet and red, intricate and complex in its design.

“Tha– that’s a…” Greyfield stutters before Navia takes the initiative, “That’s right, Greyfield, I’m no ordinary infiltrator.”

“An SoA Transformation Module… A custom one, too. You’re a mercenary.” Greyfield points out.

Navia takes a step forward. “That’s right. Now either you tattle on me and I transform anyways, or you don’t, and you continue to lead me to the databank.”

Greyfield takes a sharp breath. Quivering, he walks past Navia. “Follow me… I’ll show you the databank.”

----------------------------------------

Multiple locks disengage from their secured sockets as the thick steel door slides open, letting in a white haired “security” girl and a hazel eyed white coated man wearing spectacles, both feasting their eyes to the sight of circular room with a great many servers surrounding its circumference and a single large computer terminal sitting at its center.

“Here we have it, Miss Navia. Our databank.”

The door behind them slides shut, making the shivering Greyfield jump in his place. “Move forward, Greyfield. I want to have my eye on you.” Navia commands coldly, which Greyfield obliges.

Navia and Greyfield walks over to the computer terminal, with Greyfield being the one to take the seat.

Navia commands Greyfield to switch on the terminal, and the both of them are faced with a security login screen.

“I– I don’t have the credentials nor the permits to unlock this screen–” Greyfield begins to explain before being interrupted by the ping of the security screen… letting them in.

“The security system of this airbase has been compromised awhile ago; don’t be surprised, Greyfield.” Navia says as she once again takes command of Greyfield by handing him a red flash drive. “Insert this flash drive into the terminal.” And so Greyfield does, making the screen of the computer terminal stutter to blackness for a few seconds before being switched back on to the video of a familiar blonde haired boy.

“Hello? Is this thing on– Ahhh! Who are you?!”

The red eyed girl realizes that she’s not visible on the camera, to which she decides to push Greyfield aside momentarily to give a small wave to the shocked Ren, “Hello Ren, please do not worry about this man, he is my hostage.” To which Greyfield frantically nods in agreement.

“Oh, I see,” the blonde says flatly, “carry on then~”

“Ren, can you retrieve the data of interest? All of them?”

Ren nods his head proudly, “Can I?” He says rhetorically before coughing into a more bashful expression, “O-of course I can! Just gimme a moment.”

And it really was just a moment, well, two minutes and a half really. Navia counted.

“I’m done~” Ren calls, “All data of interest is now stored on my hard drive, and– wait, Navia, something’s up!” Ren exclaims as he turns away to check what seems to be another nearby monitor.

“What’s up, Ren?” Navia asks with a mixture of her usual flatness and vigilant curiosity.

“Something’s closing in on your location, and fast!”

A bang can be heard from the steel door behind Navia; she looks towards the door to see a newly made dent that has been punched through from the other side. And then another, then another, three more. Then–

The door bursts open, revealing a devil in scarlet and silver wielding two high caliber pistols. With a glint in their amber eyes the armored figure hoists their guns to their target and fires. In that moment, Navia grabs her Transformation Module just in time for shifting metal plates to wrap around her chest and catch the bullets dead in their paths, merely glancing off the violet and red armor plate as they shift and wind into revealing the full form of Blooming Folly.

“You… You’re Navia…” The scarlet mercenary utters under her breath.

“...Aritha.” Navia coldly realizes.

Unauthorized tale usage: if you spot this story on Amazon, report the violation.

Aritha does not lower her guns as she continues speaking with a harsh tone, “Why are you here?” She chides, “Why steal another merc’s rightful place?”

“Shouldn’t I be asking you why you’re here?” Navia growls under her helm, “Did Plasidax send you here to kill me?”

Aritha nods firmly, “Asta is their go-to merc, and the fact that somebody stole their place so seamlessly means that you’re a threat.”

“...Do you serve the corps then? Or do you just do this for money?”

Unmoving, Aritha answers without hesitation nor guilt, “Money, what’s it matter to you?”

Sighing, Navia puts a hand up to the side of her head. “Affirmative, now engaging in encrypted communications with Ren.”

“Ren, contact the mercenary Aritha, search through her contracts and comms, and give her double whatever Plasidax is offering on their current contract.”

“What…” Aritha mutters before notification pops up in her visor.

“Alert: 600,000 credits have been added to your account.”

“Let me go, or join me in this mission, and those credits will be yours.” Navia states in her usual firm flatness.

“...But my reputation–”

“Alert: Incoming comms: Your rep won’t take a hit, I’ll make sure of that ;) -Ren”

“...”

“What say you, mercenary?” Navia steps forward with a hand outstretched.

“...Fuck it.” Aritha, too, steps forward, and grabs Navia’s hand with a grin. “You better make this contract worth it, and gimme half of your income while you’re at it.”

“...Greedy, aren’t you?” Aritha responds with an unapologetic nod.

“Erm, what about me?” Greyfield pipes up.

“Stay put.” The two mercenaries order the meek man, who merely responds with a whimper.

----------------------------------------

“Alert! Two armed and armored mercenaries are reported to have been spotted within the research base! Lethal force authorized!”

The joint forces of violet and red spiraled the compromised and unready defenses of the airbase into chaos as they dash through the airbase with an electrified greatsword and dual pistols respectively, destroying airships and all those who get in their way.

“We’re losing control of the situation! Where are the auto-cannons?!”

“They’re ripping through our choppers!”

“Impossible… For how long have our Antibodies been compromised?!”

“Now this is way more fun than sneaking in!” Aritha laughs with sadistic glee.

“Don’t get cocky now,” Navia admonishes, “Look alive, Heavy Assault Mech incoming.”

In front of the duo now stands a large tetrapodal mech twice as large as them and armed to the teeth. Both its gatling-cannon arms begin to whirl to life as it poises itself to fire.

“Run!” The two say in unison as the mech fires a volley of high caliber bullets right where they once were, leaving several craters in the wake of its whirring destruction.

“Be careful of its shoulder-mounted grenade launcher!” Shouts Aritha.

“No need to tell me twice!” Navia calls back, sneering at the grenade launcher in question as she dodges another heavy volley of bullets.

The Mech leaps back, far from the duo.

They hear a distinct clicking sound.

“It’s preparing to fire the launcher!”

With a loud thunderclap, the payload screams from the barrel and through the air, directly at the duo of violet and red.

They dodge just before the launcher’s payload impacts where they once stood, blasting them away from the smoldering fireball that is now just an ashen crater.

“Alert!: Absorption Levels at 50%!”

Navia grits her teeth as she gets up to face the Mech once again, electrified greatsword in hand.

Aritha looks to the violet armored girl to see if she’s alright, then her eyes shift down to the greatsword she’s wielding. “That greatsword looks pretty dang big and heavy. Pry open its defenses for me, will you?” She requests with an unseen wink, to which Navia responds with a nod; fleeting embers of resolve pass between them for but a moment before Navia boosts right into enemy fire, dodging and weaving past a continuous volley of bullets before ducking below the legs of the Mech, guiding her blade upward as she slides through the tetrapodal base of the metallic monster.

Once her eyes see the dusty sunlight once again, she hears the machine behind her collapse dully onto the black pavement.

“Now it’s my time to shine!” Aritha yells as she unsheathes her dual blades and dismantles the collapsed machine one part at a time.

First, the grenade launcher is severed, next the gatling-cannon arms, then finally, a clean slice to its sensor-head.

Navia hears the machine whirring for a final time before being left truly lifeless. A clean and unceremonious kill.

“Alright…” Navia pants as she clips her greatsword to her back. She puts her hand to the side of her head, “Ren, hack whatever active defense mechanisms are still left.”

“Bzzt… Working on it! They’re trying their damndest to get em back online! You got 15 minutes tops!”

Navia sighs as she looks back to the scarlet woman with glowing amber eyes, “We don’t have much time, Aritha. Better wrap it up fast.”

Aritha nods and points to the left side of the airfield, “I’ll check the hangars on that side, you take the right.”

With a final nod, Navia and Aritha part ways in a burst of speed, cracking the ground between and below them.

----------------------------------------

Navia has been tearing through the airfield’s aircraft hangars, one after another. Every soldier that tried to gun her down is left with cracked skulls and broken bones, and every automated machine that dares stand in her way is left as nothing but burning scrap.

Now, here she is, with her back against a jet and surrounded by around 20 guards and an Assault Mech.

“Alert!: Absorption Levels at 30%!”

“...Good enough for me.”

They unload all that they have onto the purple blur before the flat of a lightning-charged greatsword swipes through their formation, shattering bone, singeing flesh, and spilling blood across the dimly lit hangar. The gatling cannons of the HAM could only do so much against the resisting mercenary, as she speedily smashes her greatsword through one of its legs and forces a devastating swing right through its torso, nearly bisecting it, and finally finishing it off with an overhead chop to its head.

Panting, tired, but not down, she looks to the rest of the quickly recuperating soldiers who face her down with quivering legs and clearly soaked crotches.

With a flash of her Blooming Folly’s crimson red eyes and the threatening sizzle of her greatsword, the soldiers turned tail and ran for their lives.

“They know what’s good for them.” Navia utters coldly before an alert pops up on her visor. “Alert: Incoming comms!”

“Hey Navia! It’s me, Aritha! I think I destroyed two of three of those experimental aircrafts you were looking for! At least I think so, they looked different from the rest!”

Navia shakes her head at Aritha’s bubbliness, but responds regardless, “Good, that means one more to go–”

“Alert: Emergency comms incoming!”

“...Something’s coming up on my side… Good luck, Aritha.”

“Uh huh, good luck to you too, Navia.” The brown haired girl encourages before the comms channel switches to the voice of Ren. “An advanced weapon has come loose from my hacking! An Apostle Series war-machine! Overlord Model! Get ready, Navia!”

Just as the blonde warns her Navia hears the distinct sound of plasma thrusters coming her way, and fast.

Navia barely had time to react to what looked to be a human sized white dove diving at her at mach speed. She dodges just in time, making the sleek white thing miss its attack, and in that instant it shoots from ground level to the hangar’s ceiling in a matter of seconds, circling the wheezing Navia like a bird of prey.

Looking up from the ground, Navia is finally able to get a visual of the waiting war-machine above her: sleek white with flashing blue lights, its large wings akin to those of a bird’s are lined with small but powerful thrusters blazing with blue plasma and its chest vents doing much the same. Its body is likened to that of a bipedal humanoid with sharp blades for feet; a plasma rifle on its right hand, and a plasma emitter on its left; and finally a triangular head tucked within its torso with a singular wide visor flashing radiant blue.

It shoots away from its circular flight path and thrusts directly for Navia once again, its plasma emitter whirring into manifesting a long blade of plasma as it charges for the violet armored girl. “Navia!” Ren shouts, “Hold on for 30 seconds! I’ll inject a kill code into that thing soon enough!”

“You better hurry!” Navia snaps as she just barely managed to parry the plasma blade’s arcing slash, chipping her greatsword in the process. “Damnit…”

The diabolical machine is readying for another dive as quickly as it had done the last, this time firing its plasma rifle wildly into Navia, forcing her onto the backfoot as it manifests its plasma blade once again.

“Agh!”

The diving blade connects with both her sword and her chest, damaging both massively and launching the girl into the side of a jet, blowing right through it and skidding across the ground with pained whimpers.

“Alert!: Absorption Levels below 10%!”

Struggling to get up, Navia spots the machine preparing to dive down again. She rolls just in time as its plasma blade cuts open the ground where she once was. Finally on her two feet and wielding her damaged greatsword, she repositions to get a better visual on the Apostle-Overlord when it suddenly launches a massive volley of plasma shots, forcing her to dodge and duck for cover, putting her at the backfoot once again and giving the machine the opening it needs to strike.

“Damnit, it’s only been 10 seconds…” Navia thought as she struggled to deflect the machine’s attack, damaging her greatsword further.

“I need time…”

Navia unhooks the pistol from her hip and tries to fire at the war-machine; even with the aim assist of her suit, the machine dodges each shot again, and again, and again, and it retaliates with another volley of plasma bolts, forcing Navia to hide behind a nearby aircraft for cover.

The Apostle-Overlord soars above the violet armored girl; she could hear its thrusters boost around the hangar like an omen of death as it circles in wait to get a visual on the mercenary that dares tread upon its territory.

“I just have to wait 15 seconds…”

Navia hears the sudden bending and emulsification of steel, and she jumps away in the perfect moment to see a large plasma blade split the aircraft she was leaning on in half, revealing the slowly hovering war-machine staring her down with the radiant glare of its visor.

“Shit…”

It lunges at Navia in an instant, missing its plasma blade just barely despite its burst of speed. Navia knows she can’t catch up with the dreadful Apostle-Overlord, but she can damn well try. “Bring it on!” She roars in defiance as the monstrous machine launches itself again at the girl again, plasma blade poised to slash right through her. Determined to deflect the attack, Navia raises her damaged greatsword, barely able to make a spark anymore…

But just as the machine raises its blade-arm…

“Coming through!”

Sparks fly as two blades collide with the side of the charging war-machine, desecrating its white facade and letting it bleed wires and steel for the first time.

“Aritha?!”

“Don’t just stand there! Hit it while it’s down!”

Navia didn’t need to be told twice as she lunges at the stunned bot with both her hands gripping the handle of her greatsword, and with a stomp that shook the ground and a stance poised for power, the girl launches the greatsword down onto her opponent, slicing through an arm and a wing, and sending the downed machine hurtling through the air and slamming it against the side of a nearby chopper.

“Aritha,” Navia exhales, still vigilantly watching over the slumped form of the war-machine, “your timing was perfect, thank you.” She says in earnest through her heavy breaths.

“Don’t thank me yet, it’s not dead,” Aritha points out as the Apostle-Overlord reactivates its thrusters and begins hovering shakily in the air with its one wing while unsteadily aiming its plasma rifle at the scarlet armored girl.

The violet and red duo both roar against the machine that dares fly on one wing as the shattered Apostle audibly whirrs with the last of its remaining energy to let out one last desperate volley of plasma against the duo.

But then…

“Alert!: Incoming comms!”

“Injecting kill code! The Apostle won’t be a threat to you anymore, Navia!”

Just as Ren announces his success the machine’s whirring begins to soften, along with its lights and the power in its thrusters and gun. The machine collapses to the floor lifelessly with a loud clang.

“...Took you long enough, I almost died.” Sighs the blanchette, as Ren giggles in embarrassment.

“Sorry, but hey! Still got it! Now get out there before the rest of the defense system reactivates!” Ren orders just before closing comms, making Navia sigh once again, more lightly this time.

“Hey,” Aritha spouts, taking Navia’s attention, “you alright? You had to endure against an Apostle series for gods knows how long…”

Navia shakes her head, “I’m fine, thank you for the support–” Suddenly Aritha has her hands on Navia’s spiked shoulders, and with a stern face she says, “Navia, your condition. Tell me.”

Navia quickly shrugs her off, “I’m… below 10% AL.”

“...No more fights, we head for the objective, now.”

“And where do you suppose that is?” Navia questions irritably.

“I passed a very advanced jet a few hangars ago, obviously the objective. All we need to do is get in, destroy it, and get out, got it?”

“...Fine”

With that, Aritha leads Navia to their target, being met with a hail of gunfire in the process. Blood is shed all the same.

----------------------------------------

“This just in, two mercenaries of unknown affiliation are reported to have infiltrated and assaulted a Lux Industries airbase located in Sector 5 of the Outlands Borders, a section of land between Polyphena and the beginning of the Frontiers of the Outlands.”

“The duo are reported to have emerged from the research base and have decimated the then compromised defenses of the airbase, resulting in 68 casualties, 49 destroyed vehicles, and 14 defensive machines, including an Apostle series war-machine.”

“This attack ordered attack from an unknown faction is prohibited by Overseer as per Section 5 Article 49 of the Faction Regulation Agreement, and thus both mercenaries have been apprehended for questioning and all major companies have been gathered for a meeting regarding the situation. In other news…”

The television before Navia and Aritha shuts off as Ren comes into view. “And that’s what happened last week while you two were imprisoned. Consider yourselves lucky that I managed to strike a deal to bail ya’ll out so quickly.”

“Yeah… with our contract money!” Aritha scowls at the blonde from the couch, who only shrugs in response. “Look on the bright side, you still got paid 100,000 as a reward for dealing “an overwhelming amount of damage to Lux’s airbase” so there’s that–”

“150,000 credits actually, for stealing the required data without anyone noticing.” Navia corrects, causing Ren to smirk, “See? Not all bad!”

Aritha only crosses her arms in response.

Aritha then turns to Navia with a smile, “Thanks for letting me borrow your white tank top and pants by the ways… and sorry for trying to kill you a week ago.”

Navia merely waves her off, “Don’t mention it.”

Navia eyes Ren, who stares back with a cock of his head, “What?” He asks.

“What of the aftermath of the situation?”

“Oh… Nothing much, every company denied involvement with the operation so Overseer forced all of them to pay Lux for compensation. Oh! Plus you two got some messages from Plasidax, check it out!”

With that, Ren switches the TV to a recording of a man in a black suit.

“Greetings Navia and Aritha, I represent the Plasidax Corporation, and I’ll make this quick for the both of you. First, I would like to congratulate both of you in completing the contract, it was a great success despite Navia hijacking the contract from A-Rank Mercenary Asta and Aritha being unable to complete her own assassination contract.”

“Regardless, due to both of your outstanding performances in retrieving classified data straight from their databank and having wrecked havoc across the airbase, and taking the plunge to be apprehended rather than confessing the identity of your employer, we at Plasidax agreed that we would be keeping an eye on you two for further cooperation in the future. In addition, you two will be receiving 150,000 credits for your efforts and as compensation. Good luck out there, and may your future endeavors be forever prosperous.”

And with the recording finished, Ren shuts off the TV with a wide smile. “Hear that Navia? Aritha? Both of you got closer ties to Plasidax! I’d say that’s a win.”

The red eyed blanchette nods, “It is progress, I admit.”

Aritha nods in agreement, “Yay! More potential for money!” She exclaims in excitement.

Navia then turns to Aritha with a look of curiosity in her eyes and an expression of confusion, “By the way Aritha. Back when I told you my AL was low in the airbase… Your personality took a massive shift. Why is that?”

Aritha responds by pointing two finger guns at Navia and giving her a shit-eating grin, “I’ll tell you if you tell me why you hijacked an A-rank’s contract in the first place~”

“...I’ll pass on that.” Navia waves, earning her a disappointed “Aww” from Aritha.

Aritha suddenly lets out a wide yawn without a single hint of shame. “Welp, gotta hit the hay now, thanks for everything guys!” She waves as she sees herself out.

Navia shakes her head, “Strange girl, isn’t she? Ren?”

Ren nods in agreement, “Now that the two of us are alone… I feel like you there’s something you want from me~”

Navia stands up from the couch with her hands on her hips, “The data you stole from the airbase… Neither Lux nor Plasidax noticed?”

Ren shakes his head, “Not a hint.”

“Are they of any interest to me?”

Ren nods with a sly grin, “Very much of interest. Follow me.”

Navia follows Ren with a smile on her face and a glint in her crimson red eyes, “Then taking that request really was worth it.”

“Show me what Lux has been hiding away from prying eyes.”
