After he left, a voice, so soft that if he wasn't listening, he wouldn't notice, said"Go, survive, for you will be one of those to populate the strong in this universe."
"Huh?"
He looked around, trying to locate where the sound came from, but all he could see were trees, nothing else.
"Weird"
He continued to aimlessly wander around until he found a small nest, filled with eggs of an unknown creature. The eggs were the size of an adults fist and was oval in shape, with brown stripes all over it.
He took one and fiddled with it for a bit when he suddenly heard a shriek from somewhere close by.
Creee!
He looked up to find a beast with sharp talons, an elongated mouth, and eyes that can freeze one's soul.
If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
He turned around and tried his best to run, but because he was still holding the egg and his agility was on par with a toddler, the beast caught up to him. It was already swooping down and was about to bite him when the ground suddenly broke apart with fragments that lunged themselves at the speeding beast.
CREEE!
It backed up and started to rise into the air. Because of the damage it had taken, the beast flew back to it's nest, it didn't even try to take back it's egg from him.
Pant Pant Pant
Trying to catch his breath, he traced his eyes on his hands, which glowed with an earthy yellow light. Confused, he checked his body to see if the same is happening to it. He only saw that it has taken an earthy brown color, no glowing could be seen.
He was curious about his skin changing color, but he was more curious about what happened with the ground when he was nearly eaten by that bird-like beast.
With a slightly skeptic face, he touched the ground, only for it to respond with slight vibrations.
A second after the vibration, he got a splitting headache and a grumbling stomach.
After the pain on his head subsided, he directed his eyes to the egg he nearly died for, put it close to his mouth, cracked it open, and gulped down it's contents.
Still feeling hungry, he looked for more eggs or little critters to fill his still growling stomach.
