“You got this, Clementine, you got this!”

I said to myself, with an expression full of confidence and hope.

But wait. Who exactly am I?

That’s easy to answer! I’m Clementine Evergreen, and I’m a girl who is, at the moment, getting prepared for her first day at a new school in the bathroom! Although I’m a little nervous.. I’ve got the hope that I can do this! I just need to tighten my tie a little more..-

“CLEMENTINE!!”

    A voice suddenly yelled, hoping I’d respond. That voice though is actually my sister’s, Mars! She’s fun to aggravate, so I do be doing a little teasing!

“I can’t hear you~!” I teased out a blatant lie. 

“You can hear me if you can respond, Clementine!” Mars sighed, by her tone I knew I was getting the reaction I wanted.

“Hehe! You’re so fun to tease!” I giggled, I could hear my sister snarling from the other side of the bathroom door. Oh, the sweet joy of being a mischievous little sister!

“CLEMENTINE..!” Mars pouted, “I need to use the bathroom before we go to this stupid prestigious academy, now hurry up!” 

Oh wait… I completely forgot to tell you guys about the new school I’m preparing for! Basically, this school is the best in the state! It’s a prestigious private academy that has social groups and depending on your class in the academy’s society, you can either be treated like a god or like a punching bag! ..Hope I’m not the punching bag, hehe!

“Okay, okay..” I finally stopped teasing. I opened the bathroom door, leaning on it as my left hand extended towards the inside of the bathroom. “Now you may enjoy your beautiful romance with the toilet!’ ..or so you thought!

“Hmph.. out the way.” Mars snarled, her brows furrowed with frustration as clear as day. She placed her bag on the floor and stormed off into the bathroom, giving me a slight nudge on the shoulder so I could know she was irritated.

    A few minutes later, she came out of the bathroom, that exasperated attitude gone. It was like the calm AFTER the storm! I was quite relieved, I didn’t want my big sister to be mad at me forever, after all! Her hand faced the direction of the straps of her bag and leaped towards it. With a now tight grasp, she raised her hand up, and the bag followed.

“Sooo.. ready to go?” I asked with a bright smile all over my face. I was clutching my bag, waiting for a yes.

“Yep, let’s go, Clementine.” said my big sister, she’s sooo cool! Her bag had cute little decorations, and she wore the best gothic clothes! Though, she always acts moody and angry, totally a contrast to everything she wore! I know why she’s this way, but that’s not really something I want to get into. Anyway, we wanted to have a ride on our first day to this new school. That wasn’t possible. Our parents were away at work, so we had to walk. I was a little bummed out, and I turned my head east and what I saw FILLED my mind with questions. Through Mars' ill-lit eyes, I saw a hint of excitement.

“Oh? What's the excitement for?” I grinned, Mars was rarely ever excited, so this was a special occasion. I wonder what it could possibly be..

“Well..” Mars now had a slight smirk on her face, “I might’ve bought a car..”

“You bought a what?!” I stared at my sister. She didn’t even respond as she gripped onto my hand, taking me to wherever we shall go!

We left our humble abode and swiftly walked to..  my sister’s friend’s house? I was a little confused, I thought we would go to her car! Except.. We actually did! As soon as we stepped foot on the garage entrance, the garage doors opened. The more the doors went up, the more a shiny.. red.. polished.. wait wait, the doors are opening more.. mhm mhm, the car is covered in stickers! Anyway, as I said.. The more the doors went up, the more a shiny, red, polished, COVERED in stickers car was revealed! I was gawping at the car, the stickers looked pretty cool on there! Although this car is most likely used, (I just noticed some dents and stuff!) I’m still pumped to ride in it!

“Our parents, for some reason, never got me a car although I passed my driving test..” Mars began explaining, “So I worked a summer job and even when school began, I had and still have a part-time job! I’ve been saving the money, just to get this beauty! Now I got her, but I’ll still save my money again!” Her explanation made me even more happy! Knowing she worked hard (and in secret too!) to get the car was heartwarming! It makes me happy to see my big sister happy!

I hugged her, she stood still for a few seconds but pushed me back after. “Uhh.. please don’t hug me.”

“Fine, fiine!!” I chuckled, “But when is my amazing sister chauffeur going to drive and escort me to my new school?”

“Ch-Chauffeur?!” Mars had a serious expression, so much for a silly joke, really! She calmed down though and walked to the car door to the driver seat. She turned towards me, pointed to the opposite car door, and coldy spoke. 

“Get in the car, don’t let us be late.”

“Mars!!” I playfully pouted, “I thought you would play along but.. Alright!” I walked to the opposing side of the car Mars was at and got into the passenger seat. Mars also got in the car then inserted a key to a.. something!!! Is it called an engine or am I living under a rock when it comes down to cars? I don’t really know much about cars, all I know is that you drive to get to places! Anyway, back to the story! After my sister did that, she put her hands on the steering wheel, pushed her foot down on something and.. boom! We were off to school in a super cool vehicle!

As we left, I felt the blazing summer heat, but it felt just fine with the cool breeze gliding through the air! There were so many beautiful houses we zoomed by, and MANY cars! People crossed the street and walked on the rough sidewalk. I enjoyed looking at the wonderful view of the city we lived in! However, the view didn’t last long because..

“We’re here.”

I looked at Mars and saw her gawping.

I was confused and looked where she was looking and found myself gawping too!

There was a large, golden gate and beyond the gates, there was a polished, ornate school! It was so fancy, the two large water fountains adorned the school grounds. As I was staring, a hand hovered towards my direction and moved its middle finger and thumb to make a loud.. SNAP!!! 

“WAH!” I squeaked due to reflexes. I looked at Mars’ direction and pouted, “That scared me!”

“It made you stop being zoned out so that’s what matters!” she laughed, and I angrily turned my head. Though, I wasn’t THAT mad. I was more excited, actually! Suddenly, there was a knock at the window, Mars’ window. I turned around and saw a guy in a fancy suit. Mars rolled down her window and asked. “What do you want?”

“Apologies for knocking so suddenly!” the guy nervously chuckled, “I’m here to say…”

He handed two papers to Mars, “Welcome to Amaryllis E. Academy!” He walked off to a button and pressed it. The golden gates opened, “You may drive in now! ..and you may roll up your car windows, too!” Mars obliged and rolled up the car windows, she then began to drive into the school grounds. The view was even better than before! There were pretty, blossoming flowers scattered across the fresh, green grass. Trees were also beautifully green, and some also had flowers too!

We soon came to a halt when Mars parked. She stopped the car and we exited the vehicle. “Woooah!” I squealed. Mars still kept a cold expression on her face, “It’s okay, I guess.” She grabbed keys out of her bag and locked the car doors. She put her keys back after.

“Let's go.” Mars walked towards me, and we both began to walk towards the school’s entrance. I was excited for this amazing opportunity to both adapt to a new environment and meet new people! This day is going to be the best! I’m ready to face this school, and gain new memories! Whatever it has coming, I’m prepared!
