Starbound: A Space Odyssey
Jason Silverhand (1)

Jason Silverhand (1)

Somewhere in the universe...

After turning off the call with Jevil, Jason looked deeply into the endless and dark outer space just outside of his window.

"It's about to get interesting..." Jason flashed a playful yet smile that could bring a chill at anyone who sees it.

"Well..." Jason stood up from his chair and walked towards the door of his room. "Time to put the plan on motion."

He straightened the tie on his tuxedo suit and fixated his rebel blonde hair before walking out of the room.

...

*Knock, knock*

Jason knocked on a huge wooden door that was just before him, and respectfully waited with his head lowered.

The soldiers that were guarding by the door were wearing thin, black, Titanium armor. Different from the usual bulky ones, these grant more mobility, flexibility, and agility for the soldiers.

The two soldiers looked down at Jason and had mocking smiles on their lips, and sneer could clearly be seen in their eyes.

Both were humans, like the majority of the people in the Syndicate. More than 80% of the BSS's members were humans, and this was because the group was founded after the USCM's downfall. Since the USCM was a human organization that had some prejudice against other races, it was of no surprise that one of the organizations that were born with a few of the surviving members of the USCM would also be against other races.

The destruction of the USCM by the Miniknog led to the birth of two organizations, Occasus Cult and Black Star Syndicate.

While the Syndicate could be considered moderate in their treatment with other races, the Cult was a human supremacy group that believes that only Humans were the true heirs of the Ancients, and thus the other races were lower beings that should be eliminated or subjugated.

The Cult's fast growth could be seen by everyone and thus made people's question why was such dangerous group growing so fast.

The answer was obvious — the rising dissatisfaction with other races.

Hylotl's meddling in Human government.

Miniknog's attack on Human settlements to capture Humans for their terrifying experiments.

Novakid outlaws robbing barely protected Human colonies.

And mainly the dissatisfaction with the Terrene Protectorate at how they never actually dealt with these groups taking advantage of the Human race. It was always silence or half measures.

They felt abandoned and scared. In the search for security and a purpose, they found themselves stuck between choosing Nova Rebellion, Black Star Syndicate, or Occasus Cult.

These three organizations didn't have the same goals, but they had a similar objective.

To oppose the establishment.

To fight for changes.

Even if the changes turn out to be bad, they still wanted to see something different.

But the Black Star Syndicate lost its way.

In Travis Silverhand's hands, Jason's father, the organization started to ally and make dealings with groups that it was supposed to be fighting against, Letheia Corporation, Holy Kluex Church, and Miniknog...

In a position where the soldiers couldn't see, Jason's eyes gleamed with a cold light.

[It's time for changes.] His lips hooked up in a slight smile.

"Come in." A deep voice called out from inside the room.

"Excuse me." Jason said while entering the office. He carefully closed the door not to make a sound and disturb his father that was still engrossed in his computer's screen.

Jason walked up by the luxurious table made with gold and sat on the chair just across his father.

He looked up and glanced at the middle-aged man across the table.

That was Travis Silverhand. A fat, white, middle-aged man with a bald head and blue eyes. He wasn't that fat, just about 100 kilograms for his height of 1.87 meters.

He was wearing an expensive tuxedo suit made by one of the best Glitch's tailor.

In the art of craftsmanship, almost no race could beat the Glitches.

Be it in blacksmithing or tailoring.

While they were the best, their items were also costly, and thus, just the most powerful and wealthy people could afford top craftsmanship from them...

"What do you want?" Travis lifted his eyes from the screen and asked Jason. From his tone, he was clearly annoyed and angry at Jason for interrupting him. His voice and speech were rude, and it doesn't seem like he recognizes Jason as his son at all.

"Jevil, he-"

"They found out he's a traitor. I know this much." Travis interrupted Jason and started to type on the keyboard once again. "If this was all, leave. I don't want to see you again."

"Father..." Jason showed a pained look and pitifully glanced at Travis, "What are we going to do? We had some deals with Jevil and Dreadwing. If information gets out from his mouth-"

*Bam*

"SHUT UP!" Travis angrily hit the table. The strength was enough to flip one of the coffee cups on the table, spilling the brown liquid all over it. "I know! I'm dealing with this! Don't you see, I'm occupied!? First, the mess with Miniknog, now this!" Travis hit the table a few more times while his face reddened in anger, and the veins bulged. "Get out, bastard! Leave now!" Travis waved Jason off when he saw that Jason still had something to say.

"Father-"

"GET OUT!" Travis shouted as he lifted from his chair, making his belly voice a little. His chubby face contorted in extreme anger as he pointed at Jason. "You are a bastard and a traitor! Do you think that I don't know that I have been secretly meeting with a few high officers and even started to make connections with them!? I'm not stupid." Travis sneered at Jason.

Jason's face paled as he heard Travis's accusations. He bit his trembling lips and slowly stood up. Throwing an aggrieved glance at Travis, he spoke again, "Father... why don't you believe in me, your son. This is a plan created by some people to sow discord between the family and destabilize your mind. Don't fall for their plan."

*Pah*

"Silence!"

Travis slapped so hard at Jason's face that his lips started to bleed, and his face immediately swelled a little.

"You're a traitor, just like your mother." Travis's cold eyes locked on Jason's body as he spoke to Jason, "That whore tried to kill me, but failed. I executed her for that crime. I shouldn't have done that, she deserved to suffer more." Travis's unfeeling eyes shone with a more chilling and dangerous light, "Now you have begun to spread your wings and also developed ambitions. Do you wish to meet with your mother? If you want so badly, I can grant your wish."

Jason lowered his head. His eyes were cold and gleamed with hatred and killing intent.

"Leave," Travis said again as he sat back on the chair. "After I finish the negotiations with the Miniknog and Letheia Corporation, I'm going to personally deal with you, traitor."

Jason kept his head lowered and just nodded once Travis finished speaking.
