V. Hate

Having lost sight of the girl he was pursuing, Dooku joined Yaddle. The latter also has her task here, which was to find Senator Bachure.

While exploring the latter's ship, she had noticed that any information that could have allowed them to pursue him had been erased, surely by the child they had tried to pursue.

The senator was accused of numerous crimes and they had been mandated by the supreme chancellor to arrest him. The internal conflicts in the Senate were not to the Jedi Master's liking.

When she saw Dooku without the child, she feared for a moment the worst, that the guards would have killed the child.

The Jedi master, whom she knew was always elegant even in the worst circumstances, had these clothes slightly torn here and there. She could see the mark of a shock on the top of his forehead.

"Are you okay, my friend?" she asked him, worrying about his health.

The latter, immersed in his thoughts, seemed surprised to hear him.

"Yes, a small accident, nothing serious, I made an interesting discovery."

He told her about his encounter with the young thief and how she had both gotten rid of her pursuers and saved his life.

"Are you sure she saved you? Generally we feel strength in individuals and in it we have felt nothing. Yaddle wonders.

"And yet I saw her as I see you, she saved my life, otherwise I wouldn't have felt a strength in her," the Jedi Master exclaimed softly, also aware of the strangeness he had felt in contact with her strength.

When the child was on the ship he had sensed her presence but no trace of strength in her.

Perhaps this meant that she had found a way to camouflage the strength within her, perhaps to deal with the threats that she had adapted to at home.

What is certain is that she had a strong potential, succeeding in lifting an adult man by force following a chase was not within the reach of the first comer. He knew many padawans who would not succeed in such an exercise.

And thinking about it he remembered at that moment the pitiful state of the child, the latter had tattered clothes, he did not remember seeing shoes on her feet, which meant that she had run on slippery platforms, sharp bare feet.

If he did remember her fluorescent green eyes, he also remembered a face covered in grime that certainly did not have the luxury of being able to wash.

He looked at his hand for a moment, remembering the feeling of his hand on the girl's shoulder, he had felt that the bones of the girl must surely be undernourished.

"And yet I couldn't catch it," he whispered to himself, realizing the situation, it wasn't just a young girl who had slipped through his fingers. No, she was a young girl in a very poor state.

"If she is good at the use of force, then we need to get her into the order, or at least the case, meet with the Council. Such a mastery at such a young age and in a self-taught way is impressive, but it will be up to the Council to decide. Master Yaddle said to him, pulling him out of his thoughts.

"So we have to make it quick, my friend, I have a bad feeling. People are using this child to catch up with the senator. She informed me that her relatives have been threatened by individuals at the 88th lower level. ».

"I guess she's the one who has the information we're looking for, the senator's ship has been purged of any useful data."

Dooku nodded at the question, "And she encrypted the data keys. She informed me that a certain Zolan was at the origin of our disputes. Let's find these zolan at the lower level and settle this matter once and for all. »

Nar Shadda was not a Republic world, so it was difficult for them to commandeer a shuttle or rely on the help of local security.

There is no other choice to get off than to take one of the shuttles rented at a price that even Dooku deemed indecent.

Their descent to the lower level was dreary, with each level passed they could observe the situation worsened at the next level. Ruptured pipes threw their contents into the void on the lower levels, dilapidated platforms almost fell over.

Shuttle traffic was becoming increasingly rare, instead around levels 45 to 50 there were huge cargo container ships taking off.

After fifty levels and it was another world, the lights were much less bright than at the top.

You could see a lot of rubbish thrown from the upper level hanging on the wall as if pushed by the winds from the tunnel. The people they could observe were dressed in a piece of cloth with a foot which served them as clothing.

"I've never seen a place like this," Dooku whispers, "it seems like light never gets there and darkness reigns there."

"I've seen such misery before," Yaddle commented sadly as he watched children play on a dilapidated viewing platform. "If you visit the lower levels of Coruscante, you'll find the same scenes, except that you have to go much deeper than here."

As they descended deeper and deeper to level 88, they felt a violent disturbance in the force, it was as if someone had dropped a paving stone into the water and caused immense ripples that disturbed the surrounding calm.

The two Jedi masters looked at each other worriedly, for Dooku it was the first time he had felt the dark side so clearly.

It was a black suffocating sensation filled with hatred, listening to the force it was as if someone was screaming their rage.

He made an effort to cut himself off from the strength so as not to be further disturbed by what he felt.

Yaddle For his part, closed his eyes to try to find the origin of this disturbance. Immersing themselves in the force, she searched around for this emanation of the dark side.

The wave of anger swept over her, forcing her to interrupt meditation.

"Did you feel that put on too?" asked Dooku, looking at him with concern.

"Yes, I've been trying to find the origin of it, but the force is totally disturbed, I'm afraid the person behind this has totally immersed himself in the dark side."

"The Council must be warned of the situation as soon as possible. And the source of the disruption must be neutralized as soon as possible. " she says.

In response, Dooku accelerated as fast as he could at the controls of the shuttle, swooping out of any safety rules to the lower level.

When they arrived at the lower level 88 they noticed that the air was filled and disturbed by the dark side. Their sense and connection with the force was disturbed, and they could not determine precisely where the origin of the disturbance was.

Deep down, Dooku suspected that it had something to do with the mission that had brought them to the planet and that he would find the answers he was looking for from the bandit who had sent the girl.

After a brief search with the locals, he was able to determine the Zola gang's base of operations without difficulty.

By observing the equipment possessed by the gang members who guarded the entrance, the two Jedi can determine that they came from higher levels given their weaponry and their outfit which had nothing to do with the prevailing poverty here.

This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings.

It was time for action. Generally, the Jedi Order preferred negotiation to confrontation, but given the urgency and threat posed by the dark side, neither he nor she wanted to negotiate.

In the darkness of the lower levels of the blade illuminated the two Jedi, the larger blade was blue and the smaller one was green but both were synonymous with death.

With a wave of his hand, Yaddle swept against a wall what was standing guard in front of the main entrance.

The two Jedi blast their way with lightsabers into what was the Zola gang's base of operations. Ignoring the invective of the guards, they progressed, seeing Blaster's shot again, cutting here and there some individuals a little too much out of two who thought they would face them in hand-to-hand combat.

The little Jedi Master jumped from wall to wall between the guards, neutralizing them one by one at full speed without either of them even being able to understand what had happened to them.

Anarchy had taken hold of the place, the members of the gang were running in all directions to prepare barricades to try to stop the Jedis. No one had expected to encounter such a force in such an isolated and infamous place.

In order to stop them they did not make a fuss, a heavy Blaster machine gun was installed in the only corridor that led to the room housing zolan. When the doors of this corridor opened to a dozen gang members fleeing the two Jedi, an order sounded.

"Fire !!" And all hell broke loose on the corridor, all the gang members started shooting, whether with the heavy machine gun or with their Blaster. The corridor was filled with gunfire, the fleeing ones between them and the Jedi were mowed down by friendly fire, some were vaporized by the heavy machine gun.

For young Jedi or padawan such a wall of fire you may be that deadly, there was such a large amount of shooting that a single mistake would have led to fatal consequences.

But both Jedi were masters and experienced masters, with a wave of his hand Dooku stopped some of the tigers and one sent back another. For her part, Yaddle did acrobatics by jumping on a wall, jumping from wall to wall to shoot and coming over the entrenched gang members.

His small saber was more than enough to cut the machine gun in half before the force pushed back a good dozen of their opponents. His movement had taken no more than ten seconds.

One of the gang members ran to a small intercom, "Zolan Chief, Zolan Chief, Zolan Chief, we're under attack!!" he yelled into the intercom, firing his Blaster at the Jedi.

"I know, idiot, I have cameras. Repel them, I would make a coat of your skin! Zolan replied over the intercom, but in a voice much less confident than what the gangster was used to.

"But chiefs they are Jedi!!" His interlocutor exclaimed in panic.

"You moron, use the rocket launcher!" the man glanced at the rocket launcher attached to the weapon rack if you're near the door. He quickly grabbed it and with a trembling gesture pointed it at the Jedi.

"I wouldn't do this if I were you," Master Dooku's voice growled. This did not have much effect and the rocket went in the direction of the Jedi.

With a slight push of force, he deviated the trajectory of the request which exploded behind them.

Before another request was sent, the gunman's head was detached from the rest of his body, without them understanding how the Jedi had traveled the distance between in a few seconds.

Zolan, behind the armored door of his main room, was pacing back and forth after watching his last man being eliminated. Everything he had preserved until then, his men, his equipment, was going up in smoke and he didn't know why.

Luckily for him, he had his armored door, no one could enter it without a large package of explosives, he was sure of it.

Senator Bachure also in the room was shaking all over his body, he knew that the Jedi was coming for him.

He had always had a contemptuous attitude towards the Jedi, for him as for many senators the Jedi were their little racing dog, which they sent to sort out problems.

He had never been confronted with the reality of a Jedi, because just now he had seen a hundred rather well-armed men being illuminated in a few minutes by only 2 individuals.

"Zola does something in number of my stature as a dying man cannot be humiliated in front of the Senate," he roars, trying to put on a good face. He wanted only one thing, to flee, he had so much money on his ship, he had enough elements to blackmail many senators to succeed in sinking a sweet and prosperous life in a remote corner.

"It's crazy, senator, that they brought here, you're responsible for this fiasco!" Zolan yells at him.

At that moment, the armored door was torn off its hinges by force under the stunned gaze of Zolan and Senator Bachure. Then the two Jedi appeared in the doorway of the latter, swords drawn, their faces closed.

"Senator Bachure, on behalf of the Republic and the Senate, you are under arrest. You will answer for your many crimes before the courts. Dooku said calmly, we walked in front of them, the sword in the light, in a tone that suffered no refusal.

Zolan and the senator raised their hands at the same time as a sign of surrender.

"Jedi, we surrender," Zolan exclaimed.

Dooku pointed his sword at him.

"I suppose you must be Zolan, for your own good I suggest that you hand over the evidence concerning the senator and you will answer for your crimes."

In a brief attempt to appear in control of the situation, Zolan straightened up, "Jedi, we are here on Nar shadda and not in the Republican space, you have no authority over me. Only the Hutts can judge me. »

The dark look that the two Jedi masters gave him made him bury his head in his shoulders and he fell silent.

"Come on, come on, Jedi, I'm sure we can find a mutually beneficial arrangement," Senator Bachure tried, rubbing his hands. From his point of view and experience, everyone was buyable. So far, the senator had managed to buy almost everyone, from his peers to captains of the Coruscante sector fleet to Supreme Chancellor Thoris Darus.

If he could have corrupted the Supreme Chancellor, he was certain he could do the same with the two Jedi. The power of money was capable of anything with everyone.

From his experience as a senator he decided to continue talking to monopolize the space, it was perhaps the lack of response from the 2 Jedi that made him believe that he had a chance to achieve his goals by negotiating.

The moment he opened his mouth, he felt a strong pressure crushing his trachea, panicking, we can breathe, he brought his hands to his neck as his feet began to leave the ground.

"You !! You are all the same! believing himself to be untouchable!! abusing your power to finally negotiate your terms of surrender. They all turned towards the track that came from the corridor. A voice where one could feel hatred and disgust, a voice with a particularly weak tone but strangely understandable. Anyone who listened could detect painful panting and shortness of breath.

The two Jedi masters turned around as they felt the dark side fill the room. The sensation was almost suffocating, uncomfortable, even brutal by the porosity of the sensations and emotions he felt from the transmitter on the dark side.

Slowly and trudging forward, the source of the dark side left the dimly lit corridor. If Master Yaddle turned to her and pointed his sword to face what she thought was a new threat, Dooku hesitated for a moment.

Even if it was difficult, he recognized the child who had saved his life a few hours earlier, but this time she seemed to have suffered the worst ordeals.

Large quantities of blood flowed from his wounds despite summary bandages, by straining his ears he could hear the regular dripping of blood on the floor.

Looking at Komari's previously fluorescent green eyes, he instead saw a sickly yellow glow in bloodshot eyes. His face was in an expressive mask of anger, sorrow, pain and pure hatred.

Komari stood there, bloodied, his right hand raised or a point in the direction of the senator. In front of them she stretched out her left, and the senator's arm began to turn in an unnatural direction. The screams he began to let out did not seem to wait for the child who waved the fingers of his left hand as if she were typing.

The screams redoubled as the senator's legs began to do the same.

It was clear to everyone that she was not looking to kill the senator immediately, but you wanted to enjoy the moment.

"The rat survived, senator!!" Breathed his little voice, exhausted but still filled with hatred.

The senator tried to speak but it was only an incomprehensible Cosmo, slowly following his right hand the senator's head began to turn until it reached the limits that his neck could bear. It was long, very long, he had time to hear his cervical spine break and moan.

The body of the fallen former senator fell with a thud to the ground, shattering what had been an almost solemn moment when no one had made a sound except the main antagonists.

The shock of the body on the ground startled Zolan who realized that he was the next one and that what was standing in front of him was incomprehensible to his reason. He had seen men much stronger than this eight-year-old girl killed by a single blaster, so why was she, who had received a dozen of them, standing in front of him?

He uttered an almost animalistic cry of terror as he rushed backwards.

"Save me Jedi, save me, protect me, and I'll give you everything you want. I have misinformation, I have secrets. He begged as she began to walk towards him.

Each step seemed to make her grimace of pain, yet she did not stop or slow down, you could hear her tired but determined breathing.

His scream reached the high pitch when he was drawn by the force towards her, he could see you a crazy smile on his lips as she reveled in the suffering to come from him.

He was stopped in the open air by a gesture from Yaddle, this act earned her a violent push of force that she swept away with the back of her hand.

"He's mine, Jedi!" the child yelled, "he's more than deserved what is going to happen to him," to emphasize her anger, she broke Zolan's right hand with a wave of her hand.

Yaddle Places himself between his green saber always pointed at Komari.

"No, young girl, it's up to the justice system to settle this case." while she expected a new act of brutality, she was surprised to see her let go of Zolan.

There was disgust on his face and contempt, "Get off your Jedi ivory tower, there is no justice in this galaxy and you should know that. With money and relationships escapes everything and your prisons are real sieves. There are more bandits here who have escaped from prison than rats. ».

The child's words could not reach the Jedi Master who was a model of righteousness. The latter believed in the ideal of the Republic and the Jedi order and it was not the words of a child tormented by the dark side that was going to make her deviate from it.

Yet they found a certain resonance in Dooku who was as idealistic as his Jedi comrade, he who was a large family of Sorenno from the Outer Rim he was aware of the endemic corruption of the Republic.

The Republic and the ideals that the Jedi stood for were a far cry from the legendary times of the Golden Age.

Komari continued to speak, They are masks of rage, cracking a mask of sorrow mixed with the beginning of madness, "They are all dead Jedi, my whole family was massacred by this bastard and for what reason? For I stole for him? Because I stole to survive? Death is not scary Jedi, I accepted it, it was part of the risks. But they were innocent. ». His voice had begun to derail on these last words.

She looked down at his hand and slowly stared at Zolan. The murmurs in her head resumed with renewed vigor, they became cries of hatred inciting her to more cruel and violent revenge. She let herself be overwhelmed by this nameless hatred.

Slowly the armored door of several tons began to levitate, closely followed by many debris and objects.

She threw them forcefully at Zolan but were intercepted by Yaddle on the way, the skill of the Jedi Master's master's mastery of force was far superior to the child's anarchic gifts.

But despite any force fight, each tried to push the other away and propel the debris.

Yaddle frowned when she noticed that she couldn't break the deadlock in front of them.

Komari also noticed that they were at a dead end, but if she couldn't crush Zolan by force, she would eat his throat with her teeth. Her gaze still fixed on the latter, she began to move forward. Each step she took further aggravated her wounds from which a lot of blood flowed.

The Jedi Master raised her hand to push it away, but if this slowed the child down a lot, she did not stop stubbornly in the object of her quest. Instead, he could feel his fury increase, but it seemed to be directed at only one person.

Dooku, a spectator of their confrontation, looked at the bandit and the child in turn. He sighed, and with a supple step, followed by a determined gesture, his sabre cut off Zolan's head. The latter, in a last movement of surprise, a small hooo in her mouth, began to roll off the bandit's shoulders.

Seeing the object of his fury suddenly disappear, Komari watched haggard and dazed at the turn of events and the Jedi before collapsing.

Yaddle looked at the Jedi Master in amazement not understanding his act, the latter shrugged his shoulders as he moved closer to the fainting Komari to take his pulse.

"It was the best thing to do, my friend, this poor girl was never going to stop as long as Zolan was alive." He explained to himself in front of the insistent gaze of the other Jedi.

"You killed him in cold blood, Master Dooku. This goes too far. The Jedi Master was genuinely outraged because it had just happened.

"If I hadn't intervened, the child would have died of stubbornness. She doesn't have to die because of a corrupt senator and a miserable gang leader. Dooku replied in the same tone.

"She used the dark power Dooku. It is dangerous, you have seen this power just as I have. ».

"Is that a reason for condemning it so quickly? She's a child! A child who knows nothing about right and wrong within the force. A child who must have taught herself to master her powers. He looked strangely tenderly at Komari. "The pain of losing these loved ones places to turn your head and missed the plunge into madness, you are aware of it, aren't you? She did what she could to survive and maybe with our help she can follow a path that will bring her happiness. Let's not judge it too quickly. »
