Liv had the blood spirits move the evidence of her... fight through her window while she jumped out herself. The blood and guts floated in a ball behind her, the 'guts' part being moved not by the blood surrounding them, but its own will, the spirits of rot within starting to accumulate able to influence their host enough to push it along in midair. Swiftly, Liv got to the wall with the city, luckily, still asleep. She asked the spirits to float over the wall, and they ascended, a red speck ascending among the crystalline spikes of ice the wall was made from. She watched as it got to the top of the wall, gusting directly past one of what she assumed were guards, and disappearing over the other side as the grey dot swiftly stepped the the side, moving back to his position after a small amount of time. Sighing in relief, Liv ran back to her room. She didn't want another Maanterin to happen.
Jumping in bed once more, Liv immediately lamented her decision to do so. Her spot in the center was now cold, and no amount of rolling around was fixing it. She thought about conjuring a flame to help, but eventually discounted the idea, the wood making up the inn playing a large part in her decision.
Liv grabbed the keys, finding a pocket in her coat to put them in, and walked outside. Courtesy of the spirits, the blood that had gotten on the coat was swiftly removed, preventing any suspicious bloodstains from getting her caught. The innkeeper greeted her, asking if she wanted breakfast. Liv shook her head, walking out the door. She would get her own.
Soon, Liv held a bun, sitting on a roof once more. Taking a bite, Liv started to list the things she would have to do this day. First, she would have to find the thing that had led her here- a pair of statues. Then she would have to see if there was a gate here like the one in Maanterin. There was no guarantee, but due to the name of the city, Liv thought it was a pretty good bet that there would be.
Liv couldn't think of anything else to add to the list, so she fell off the roof, strengthening her body as she hit the ground. It was so much harder as a mortal.
Liv stepped up to the statues that she had come here for. A sign stood next to them, detailing what was known about their history. Here are depicted Randall and Jessica, two heroes who saved the world multiple times. There is no evidence that they ever existed, and in fact, evidence against them. However, we can still lose ourselves in this fairytale today. Liv clenched her fists at those words. Her parents' lives being called a fairytale? She calmed herself down before reading again. So, Randall and Jessica were both commoners. Little is known about this section of their life except that they did not give in to the depravity of the society around them and instead pulled themselves up, as any commoner has the ability to, and made themselves strong. Eventually, they were considered nobles. Afterwards, they fought great monsters, seeking only to protect. The first was the Tinder Demon, which didn't pose much of a threat. After that, they fought Seki'igaris, the invaders from the north, and, the greatest threat of all, the Blue Jay. After this fight, they disappeared, and probably left the world. Randall and Jessica never had any children, and in the end, are two of the weaker heroes written about in fairy tales.

Liv looked at the sign, about to set it on fire. Then she let it go. There was no use to doing this in a fit of rage-it would only harm the wood spirits within the sign. Liv walked up to the statues, looking at the carved sculpture of her parents. Jessica stood to the side, beams of light around her. Light spirits swirled around her in the real world, creating a veritable display of colors to anyone who could see them. Liv turned to Randall. He stood, holding a pen in one hand and a longsword in the other, the pen writing a sigil in midair. Spirits of Justice, Charisma, and Speech circled him. Liv looked closer at the sigil. It didn't seem like a simple word. It hung in the air, more like an attack, aimed at any who would strike against him.
Liv looked at the effigies, and refused to weep. She gave her parents the concession as she turned around and felt the spirits within her heart. Enmity shone the brightest. Liv whispered into the open air, sliding her blade out of its sheath. "Wherever you are, I will find you. And in your last moment, you will see my enmity and remember the couple you cruelly killed as my blade kisses your neck."
Liv sheathed her blade, walking away from her parents' statues. She was never one to grieve, just move on and do what needs to be done, whether it be to take revenge or let them go in peace. Walking to her next destination, Liv asked herself a question. Should I really be doing this?
Far away, a man sat in his throne. A hood covered his face, as it always did, even when he was sleeping. The man jolted, feeling an immense hatred shoot at him from the direction of the icy mountains. All of his lords stopped talking as the hooded man got up, the meeting instantly over. They filed out of the room, leaving him in silence.
"Laysten, come."
A woman appeared next to him, no weapons visible. They weren't allowed in his presence, after all. He looked at her from beneath the hood. "The girl is in Crystallien. You are a Master. She is far weaker than you are. Capture her and bring her back to me."
She nodded, preparing to move out without any further questions. "Wait."
Pausing, Laysten turned to him. "Don't underestimate her. The child's parents did this to me."
The man lifted his hood, just slightly, to show Laysten what was underneath. She blanched, but still did not speak, simply nodding at the sight. The hooded man nodded in appreciation. He'd always liked this facet of her. Stepping over to a window, he looked away. "You may go now."
Laysten disappeared once more as he stared towards the mountains, where Crystallien and its sea of ice lay. What had happened to cause the girl to have so much enmity? Unable to stop a shudder, the man startled, surprised. He had never shown weakness, not even to himself. This caused another shudder. Slight dread growing in his heart, the man sat down.
Liv had to be stopped.
