Chapter 1: Getting passed to another reality

Chapter 1: Getting passed to another reality

Radun woke up from a nightmare. He was in a volleyball match when monsters started to appear and attack him, slowly eating him alive. All he could do was use his volleyball to attack.

It was a weird dream, probably caused by him stressing over the tournament that’s happening soon.

He got up, worked out for a bit, then got ready for school. He got onto his bus, and went through his day.

He couldn't wait for the match he had that day, barely able to focus. He went to the gym, and started to warm up with a few of his friends.

His team loss the match, but it wasn’t important. Not because he didn’t care, but because he had something more important to focus on.

He wasn’t at his school anymore. He was in a clearing with his team, with a screen in his face.

[Welcome to the tutorial, Radun!]

[Tutorial difficulty: Death]

[Note from tutorial overseer: Sorry all of you, you’re all going to die. Maybe one or two will survive though. Good luck.]

After he finished reading the screen, another screen popped up.

[Skills given; {Advanced Mana Control}, {Mana Transmutation}, {Extreme Speed Enhancement}, {Space Affinity} and {Void Control}]

Radun knew he was in a dream, but his skills were kinda hype. His dream self was still cooked, but he had to admit that {Void Control} was definitely something he could cook with.

“Yo! Mike, are you seeing this?” Radun decided to see if his ‘friends’ also had skills.

“Yeah, I’m about to cook with {extreme strength enhancement},” He said before he whispered to himself, “I kinda wish this wasn’t a dream.”

“Everyone!” He only now noticed his coach, he wondered why, “Does everyone see a screen, and skills?”

When everyone nodded, he continued, “Everyone form a line, and tell me your skills.”

“Why?” Tom asked, “We get that your the only adult, but it’s not like you can memorize them all”

“I couldn’t, but I got a management skill,” He answered. “Now got in a line, or I’ll make you run laps around the clearing!”

This got everyone’s attention, because the clearing had a circumference of at least 3 miles, and they didn’t choose tract for the spring season for a reason.

He saw the coach smirk when everyone instantly got into line. Radun was in the middle, six players ahead of him, and 5 behind him.

He heard a few of his teammates skills, going off of what he heard everyone got at least one extreme enhancement skill, an affinity skill, for something physical, mental, or magical, and 2-3 more skills similar to their affinity.\

The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.

He noticed how everyone’s enhancement skill had something to do with their position, the hitters got jump, or strength enhancement, the opposite hitter dexterity, or strength, the setter in front of him got vision enhancement, and he, as the libero, got speed enhancement.

God why was he taking a dream so seriously, he thought.

“Radun your up, get out of your head,” His coach said sharply

“Oh, my skills are…” He trailed off as he noticed something, “Coach can you see something in the forest?”

“No, stop stalling.”

“Ok, wait can I check something quickly?”

“What did you forget your skills?”

“No, I want to see if I can just send the list to you.”

He focused on the screen he had subconsciously put into his peripheral vision, and his coach.

The coach looked shocked for a second before he said, “Good job, you get a pass on two laps when I give some to you.”

“Wait before you walk off, how did you do it?”

“Focus on the screen then the person,” He said before walking over to the group that already talked to Mr. Smith.

“Yo, Radun,” Mike said. “I don’t think this is a dream.”

“What do you mean, man?” Radun asked. “Of course it is, what else would explain all this?”

“Think rationally man, have you ever had a dream where people in the dream knew it was a dream?”

“No, but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible.”

“Ok, but don’t you think this is a little too detailed?” Jax jumped in, “also have you had a dream where you could read anything? No, because that’s not possible.”

“Fine, let’s say you guys are right, what explains all this?” Radun asked dumbfounded at the fact that their points made sense.

“The hell would any of us would know?” Matt answered.

“Fine, but I’m going to need a minute.”

He walked away, and decided to think about what was happening. He thought about how Mr. Smith had a management skill, and wondered how that would work.

Was he able to open a new screen, did it make his memory better, or was it something else? He thought about his skills and wished he could get a better description, when suddenly a new screen opened.

[Skills:

Given: {Advanced Mana Control} (Epic), {Mana Transmutation} (Epic), {Extreme Speed Enhancement} (Epic), {Space Affinity} (Legendary), {Void Control} (Legendary)

Earned: None]

He wondered if he could get any more info, and focused on each skill, without any success.

He had a thought, then a ball the shape as a volleyball, with the same weight. He thought it was too easy, but {Advanced Mana Control} was probably (Epic) for a reason.

He started practicing volleyball, using his practice like meditation. In fact according to the screens it was meditation.

[First skill earned: {Meditation}]

[Skill description: Go into a hyper focused state, which makes it easier to understand problems, and abilities. Get this skill to level to level 20 to evolve this to copper, and choose a new path.]

[Rank: {unranked}]

[Level: 1]

Radun read through the description in amazement, because he was just told a lot of things all at once, and he had a lot of questions, like why can he see what this skill does, and not one of his given skills, or what a new path means, or what an 'evolution' would look like.
