Chapter 3
Their laughs echoes throughout the alleyway. I looked around at the trap door I use, but it was blocked off by the wall of stone. One of those goons brought it up. I scanned them to see if I could see a glowing glyph. Nothing, their sleeves were long. I was cornered.
It hit me, the panic, The Entangled Stream connected, My Glyph lit up. I smiled, I threw out my fist as a stream of fire roared towards them. I finally felt in control, but that didn't live long, and I felt the magic in me get erratic. A tingle of lighting flowed through my feet I jumped up and kicked towards them. But they were experience and they redirected the fire and lightning.
Fear coursed through my veins. I couldn't do this. “Get her, The boss told us we can do anything to her, as she defiled his daughter.” He licked his lips. I recoiled. I had to fight. But then The Entangled Stream Disconnected. Shit!
One ran at me, grabbed my head and brought his knee into my face. A crunch filled the air as blood gushed out on my nose. He threw me down and brought his foot on my head. The rocks dug into my face opening up fissures. Their laughter was muffled. Then a hard kick to my gut caused blood to come out of my mouth.
I have to get out of this, come on.
I needed to connect, I opened my one eye and saw that they were surrounding me leaving the street open for me to escape. Another hit. Then one of them grabbed a fist full of my hair lifting me up. I felt my hair giving up. He punched me, it sent ripples throughout my head. My vision blurred I looked at the open street. Tears fell.
“No ones going to save you, bitch.” He laughed slowly his gravely voice violated my ears. “Its just the four of us and you. Do you wish for this to end quick?” He smiled bringing me to his eyes. I spat blood into his face.
“Fuck you…” I managed to muster out.
He threw me into the wall. Then Bull rushed me, his should digging into my chest. I could barley breath. Then he released me, I fell to the ground. I could make it to the street. I took a deep breath. Connected. I dug my feet into the dirt, and pushed magic into my feet. I felt the wind push me toward the street. Hope and freedom, but it ended before I could get out as a large wall sprung up I slammed hard into it.
The boisterous laughter echoed. “Look the little street rat tried to escape. Its impressive she is able to use her magic being so beat up. But I think we can fix that.” They said. Next thing I know the two lanky ones launched themselves at me and pinned my arms and legs to the ground. The large on who bull rushed me loomed over me. He rolled up his sleeves to reveal earth Glyphs, the glowed green. He brough a fist up and manifested a large stone.
“Now, Lets make sure this Rat can no longer Run away. What do you say boys?” His gravely voice bounced. They were enjoying this. The other men agreed.
“Say goodbye to those precious legs of yours.” He smiled.
My vision went dark. I waited for the crash of pain in my legs, but it never came. All I heard was gurgling, and a thud. A Silvery light flashed over me and One of the lanky men Screamed out. The wall dropped and light flooded the Alleyway. Standing over the large man stood a Man wearing white. He flung his hand out towards the other man and he let go and tried to run away. Blades flew out of the stars of the mans white robes. They hit their target spraying blood over the wall.
The last one standing between the trap door, and The man in white, dropped to his knees and groveled. The White cloak Billowed out and wrapped around him. All I heard was screaming, then a body crumpled to the ground. There laid a dehydrated husk of the man. Around me nothing but death. My vision managed to focus to see the man on the stage. Torrel, then my vision blacked out and I felt arms catch me before I fell.
