A merchant's ship was riding the stormy waves. The attendants on the ship were not merchants but a group of pirates. The pirates were in a cheerful mood they disguised themselves as a group of sailors and were hired by a rich merchant. The fate of the merchant's ship was no surprise they invited a Trojan's horse into their home, and they were swiftly overrun by the scheming pirates. The guards protecting the merchant's lives were killed and had their heads stringed on the top of the mast, the merchant's fat and oily body was burnt alive and thrown into the ocean to be fed to the deep. The wife of the merchant knew that her fate would be worse than death if the pirates had their hands on her, so she committed suicide with her 8-year-old son.
"It was quite a plentiful harvest this time." A pirate who had a glass left eye was drinking rum as he took a bite out of a salted meat his voice was quite hoarse as if he used most of his willpower to speak. The salted meat was grinded between his yellow and unkempt teeth. "Too bad the wife killed herself and the son or else we could have had some fun with a living person than a corpse."
"Shut up, no one else here likes to have sex with a corpse other than you." A man who was balding berated the man with glass eye, he was quite agitated as he kept touching his remaining hair as if he was counting how many was still on his head. "It was because you kept taunting the wife that you were too slow when she killed herself, but I'm surprised she killed her son too."
"Hmph, I didn't know she would be a mad enough to kill herself and her son," The man with the glass eye argued back.
As the two look like they were about to get into a fight a voice that stayed the same pitch interrupted them.

"Since the two of you have a lot of time to be fighting the both of you can guard the merchandise down there."
A man who was in a black windbreaker with brown grizzly hair said in a dull voice, the man's tone was like a puppet never changing but his voice was filled with power making it so accepted anything but no.
"Of course, vice-captain, we would have gone there without you telling us to." The balding man said in a flattering tone.
"Uh huh uh huh." The glass eyed man also nodded in agreement.
They then rushed below deck as if the person they were facing was a man-eating beast.
"God dammit, it's your fault we have to watch over the merchandise."
Once they were away from the grizzly hair man the balding man yelled at the glass eyed man while still touching his sparse hair.
"Hehe, don't be so mad maybe we can have fun with some of the merchandises." The glass eyed man said in a carefree tone.
"Hmph, don't think about it. If the captain finds out, we'll be the one swimming with the fishes. You'll ruin the merchandises, and their selling price will go lower."
"I know I know can you not take a joke?" The glass eyed man said in a lecherous voice making him sound very unconvincing.
The conversation between the two was heard by a girl who had a youthful face but what was lacking from a normal child was the bright and innocence of a child. Her face looked like lifeless as she was kept in a cell with other children who were the children of the staffs of the merchant. They were separated away from their parents who were kept in a different cell and the atmosphere was very gloomy. The girl seemed out of place like the situation had nothing to do with her and she lacked all emotions compared to the other children who were filled with despair at their unknown fate.
Her eyelashes blinked as she stared at her own shadow and her dried lips opened and she asked a question no one except the existence that was her shadow could hear.
"Blacky, why do humans have such greed?"
