Ezra, the Archangel presiding over the earth's domination, ran his gauntleted hand over a set of shimmering scales. His dragon, Uriel, huffed and shoved it away.
The angel leader could read his friends emotions and knew that the beast was upset over the heavy losses they had been sustaining in their attempts to bring down the Nine Dragons Sect. The cultivators of the realm proved far more powerful than he’d expected, especially with the absence of their saints.
Ezra leaned back in his golden throne that floated seamlessly on a carpet of clouds. Two large pillars rose from the back of the chair, each of which housed a dragon, harmless and coiled up around their respective pillars. When they left their masters side, however, they became anything but harmless. Even more powerful than some of the angels. Another serpent had itself wrapped around his master’s throne and Ezra himself would hesitate to anger the monster. Uriel was even older than he and far more ill tempered.
The two of them watched through a break in the clouds as a legion of dragons got slaughtered by a mere three elders of the sect. How? He did not know, what he did know however, was that the elders of the nine dragons sect hid their power well and if they could hide it from him that meant they were at least of the sovereign level, possibly higher. Troublesome indeed. Ezra snapped his fingers and the two dragons flanking him on either side roared to life. The one to his left uncoiled itself
first and spread a pair of wings so wide that they could cast a shadow over a small city. Every inch of the creature was midnight black accept its eyes which glowed with the radiance of heaven. The dragon to his right repeated its counterparts actions. The beasts was exactly the same length and it’s wings, equally as massive with those same beautiful eyes. This dragons color differed. White scales, as pure as the clouds. The two flapped their gigantic wings and burst through the clouds beneath them.
Uriel growled and his master could feel the dragon vibrate beneath his fingers. “Shhh.” Whispered Ezra. “Your time will come soon enough.”

Sheng sat with his legs crossed and Ru with her head leaned back between his legs where a pillow rested. She had just drawn it for herself. Her abilities could be used for more than just violence. Sheng ran his fingers through her long strands of blonde hair with hints of golden brown. They each had their eyes on those three tiny fingers as they slaughtered the golden serpents. One zipped through the sky on the back of a Luan Bird, An auspicious beasts commonly mistaken as a Phoenix, it’s plumage was blue instead of red or orange.
Stolen story; please report.
Each of the Nine elders had a mount, each of which was one of the legendary auspicious beast’s. The auspicious beast’s differed from magical beast’s which were just animals or other creatures that could cultivate, like the dragons or angels. While the auspicious beast’s were technically magical beast’s they were far more powerful. Every auspicious beast’s started out as their weaker brethren but at some point reached a higher realm of cultivation, higher even than most lords and in doing so were gifted their own pocket dimension in which to live in seclusion. There, they preformed closed doors cultivation, some reaching realms even higher than the saints. The elders mounts were all weaker than each of them which means none of them were that powerful but nonetheless they were nothing to scoff at. Their mounts were part of the reason the elders were so powerful.
Master Qiuniu rode on the back of the Luan while the other two rode on the backs of their own mounts. Master Yazi dawned a bifang crane, a firebird with only a single leg and then there was master Chaofeng. His mount was a beast of epic proportions known as the Peng. This auspicious beast could cast a shadow over a vast city. How master Chaofeng tamed such a monster was a mystery to anyone other than his fellow elders. The Peng scooped up dragons left and right into its talons and then devoured them with its massive beak. The sight was mortifying and mystifying at the same time. Just as the Peng caught the last of the dragons in its talons and tossed it into the air master Chaofeng leapt from its back and severed the beast's head with a great sword twice the length of himself. The three elders began their decent back into the mountain when the sound of flapping could be heard. It was so loud, it resembled the Pengs giant wings and could be heard all the way down inside the mountain where the two best friends sat under a gentle mist coming from the golden falls.
From a golden rift in the sky, the same place the other dragons came from, two dragons, larger and more fearsome than anything they’d ever seen, burst from the heavens. One black as night and the other whiter even than the clouds. They each dawned a pair of golden eyes, the beauty of which didn’t take away from their fearsomeness in the least.
Sheng and Ru expected their powerful elders to turn back and face the beasts without fear but instead they continued into the mountains.
“They’re running! How could they be running?” Ru stood and went off on a angry tirade, staring at Sheng as if it was somehow his fault they had fled, in truth, he couldn’t blame them. In the middle of her shouting The mountain had a tremor and she fell backwards into the pool of water. Sheng held in his laughter as she surfaced, sputtering water. Another tremor went through the mountain and they returned their gaze to the opening in the cave ceiling. There, they found the two monsters bashing their heads against a barrier of pure blue energy. It’s pulsed violently with every powerful bash of the monsters head but stood steadfast under their onslaught. Sheng looked at Ru and she, back at him and then each of them took off through the mountain.
