Processing Complete

Phase 230 has its optical ports staring at the details of a nearby cluster of asteroids bouncing off each other near the atmosphere of a planet not far away. It pulls from its stupor hearing 6169, or the nice one, and the words it has wanted to hear for what seems like days.

“So, how are things now, what has changed?”

The resources you are able to allocate due to the previous ship's processing. The power you are able to allocate has changed as well.

Titanium (T) - 10 > 90

Steel (S) - 70 > 170

Hard Plastic (P) - 0 > 80

Also, many millions of molecules of organic matter are able to get assimilated into the processing material and fuel.

Processed Org: 0.5 / 5% > 1.2% / 5%

Unprocessed Org: 0.6% / 20% > 4.6% / 20%

Power allocation: 3 / 20 > 6 / 20

What does the organic material mean? What am I supposed to do with that?

It is that storage capacity and units that the organic material can handle for processing and power allocation. The organic processing material from the invaders is in the process of being assimilated into power and processing use. With this successful defense, phase 230 will be able to better defend itself against the next invader. You can also utilize the equipment from the invaders with protection and weaponry. The extra material will also give the skin-beings more of a chance to try to find organic material which you can put around to entice them, also getting them into a dangerous place. The unused organic material can have invaders walk into a trap, or be protected without the skin-beings knowing where they are going.

“So, they’ll try to go after other material that I can’t use and get into trouble? I don’t get it, but sure. A harder puzzle is better too, right?”

Affirmative, you can allocate more resources than before, and successful defenses will help. If the ship is able to be claimed, you will have more resources, but either way, organic material is very important for processing.

"Ok. nice one, I need to figure out a few options. Do I have any other options for the equipment?"

Negative, you must defend yourself against more attackers and get enough resources to develop this pod into a more powerful protection. This unit does not have a threshold to that, so it will not benefit you to ask. Defend yourself against attackers and build your resources. If you do not, you will be disconnected.

Stolen story; please report.

"Yes, yes, I understand all of that. I'll work on what I need and the changes. Can you tell me anything on the scanner thing if I need to worry about anything in the near future?"

Units 6169 and xxxx are capable of updating your pod quickly, you just need to use your organic processor to pick what you want, and put where you want it. We can offer suggestions and if you like the way it looks, or would like us to move walls or protection, just let us know.

"That all seems harsh, can you not suggest more? The guard bots seemed to make a difference, but the traps also helped finish off some of the invaders. The ceiling mounted guns made a decent difference, so which should I choose?"

That is not for these units to decide, but more is better. All of the protection parts that we develop help you. You need to choose what you want to build, we have the schematics in our database, and will build if we can. The ship that we assimilated did not have any new schematics which could have helped us develop new protection, but some more developed ships can have better weaponry that can be either incorporated into this pod, or added to the schematics, that is if we are able to consume the other ships.

As noted, if we can not consume the other ships, and they are able to fly off, we will repair parts where possible and wait for the next successful defense. When you are able to develop external weaponry, ships that dock and try to get away can be prevented from running, depending on their defenses. This pod's defenses can either be hidden until the time is right, or can be obvious weaponry for when the inevitable invaders attack. If it isn't in the near twenty nanoseconds it will be in the near twenty yearly cycles.

“If I have a gun mounted on the outside, would it destroy a ship before it tries to fly off?”

It is a possibility, but no likelihood. Most ships protect against the vacuum of space, and the projectiles the ship has for protection would not do a lot of penetration to a ship. Another strategy is suggested.

I will need to place guns in different places, also getting a couple of additional ones will help. A few places to put some of this organic material with traps too, I guess it will help me. Do you have other sort of guard bots? Are they all like the ones already inside?

Negative, during the last phase, most of the data for the schematics were wiped out by the invasion force. The technician on the invading team did some sort of clearing of the data to prevent anything bad, and it worked because the invasion team left with the phase organic material. The pods can get updates from each other as well, but there have been no pods in the near vicinity in order to get a schematic update that is different.

Can you protect any ports that have schematics in them now?

There are ports where the invading forces can get not just organic material, but galactic credits. They are around the ship that their technicians use to collect earned credits. Each pod has designated credits associated to them so that there is another enticement to the invasion parties.

Is that what those things are that aren’t the walls of the pod? You haven’t told me about them. What are the different things on them? Is that what one of the last invaders were plugging in?

It is due to not being within the parameters of data that require your attention. Credits are earned through a different network. If your invasion force has many watching the material, the invaders can get a higher credit amount. If you defend yourself against invasion, and it is more entertaining for those watching the minutes, credits are awarded. They don’t mean anything to you, so you have not been informed.

I get that, but now I can add traps around them, why didn’t you tell me about them?

In due time phase 230, there have been studies that the invasion forces, especially since you are a small pod, are much more interested in the organic material on board. If you were larger, there would be ports all over, and you can use them to your advantage, placing them in different places, and putting traps to protect the credit machines.

So, how long do I have before some ship comes by and overwhelms me?

This unit has informed you that it cannot be calculated amongst the quadrillions of variables that might bring a ship close by for you to defend yourself. Design the layout, choose your protection, and get ready for the next invasion. If this pod gets some more material to use, you will be able to better protect yourself, and you will be informed.
