Back at their base, with an order from Erik, Rose adapted an empty room to become a containment room, with a bathtub and small bedding on the floor, that would be enough.
After tying the girl to a table specially printed to her anatomy, he injected her the anesthetic counter, waking her up. Erik saw first confusion on her face and then horror as she realized she couldn't move, she looked at him with wide horrified eyes while shaking in her bindings, Erik could only sigh 'you are making me look like the bad guy now, sigh...'.
The Elders, Leader, and Inky were also by the side, it was their idea to tie the demon up also, he needed a translator so he turned to them and Inky translated for him.
Erik: "does anyone know their language?"
The Fourth Elder Shana stepped forward with a solemn face.
Fourth Elder: "I know the demon's language"
After reading Inky's translation he nodded, then also thought about making a translation device soon as this was getting increasingly annoying, and it also wouldn't take much time using guided machine learning anyways.
Erik: "ask her if she has a name"
Fourth Elder: "She said she's called Krukhk"
Erik: "... ( ' - ' ) tell her... that her new name is... Crabina, find out why she's here and all she knows about her people" as he thought 'no way in hell I can remember that name, maybe a translation problem?' he pondered and watched from the side as the crab language seemed to be composed of clicks.
Fourth Elder: "your new name shall be Crabina you demon"
Crabina: "w-what? but I already have a name...."
Fourth Elder: "that was a demons' name, accept the honor and now tell us why you are here and all you know about your people and the caves if you wanna live"
Crabina had no love or care for her former villagers and she really didn't want to after managing to get this far, she was tied up and restrained, but everything was new and strange, kindling her curiosity even further.
Crabina: "...alright, I will tell you anything you need to know"
--- hours later ---
After hearing the entire translation from Inky, Erik analyzed the knowledge in his mind, apparently, there was a secret narrow tunnel that connected to the cave systems higher than the main tunnel entrance that was monitored by guards from the 15 tribes that inhabited in the caves, her tribe was the wisest one and they had been culled and enslaved just for looking weak, Erik was really relieved at that piece of good news as it was troublesome to fight against intelligent enemies, fighting against stupid meatheads that love fighting each other though... he just needed to set up ambushes and assassinations to get rid of them and watch as they killed each other, as the saying went (/*Chinese proverb: When a snipe and clam quarrel, the fisherman benefits*/).
The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
His first target would be liberating Crabinas tribe, if he got their members liberated then he would be able to use them to make them all fight against each other, subduing the other tribes under their rule and ultimately under Erik's rule, he had also already tested that sedatives were at least effective on Crabina, so a dossis 4 times higher just to be sure should be able to knock out even strong crab people, the problem was their full exoskeleton, making him have to aim at the joints, he would need to capture some to test their nervous system and weaknesses, if they were like crabs on earth he could just use sulfuric acid along Hydrogen peroxide to dissolve their shells, sadly he didn't have much and lab use was a much better choice, for now, he could always just bind them and then boil them anyway, no need to think it too far on that front, once they were paralyzed there were numerous ways to end them.
In the end, he decided to make a poison launcher, it would accelerate poison from a deposit through a small nozzle, reaching far and in high amounts, if he used this like some kind of underwater flamethrower he could just pump poison into the enemy's faces and watch them collapse as it would also create a poison cloud that wouldn't affect him thanks to his diving gear.
Once he liberated that tribe he would make himself as their savior and they would end up working for him and the octopeople, 'even if I'm weaker than them... technology will make up for it anyway, heh... they might become fanatics if I make it right (chuckles), once I've taken over the wise I will slowly get control over the rest, they like the rule of the strong huh..., this should be easy ', he was full of confidence as according to Crabinas info he just needed to be wary of the stone crab tribe currently invading her place that was the strongest, then the dark shell crab tribe as they focussed on ambushes and he wouldn't need more, without them the rest had similar forces so a fight for dominance would probably follow, the rest were mostly gatherers and manufacturers so once one won he would then attack.
Now he wondered something equally essential though, what to do with the crab girl? she was too naive, telling all info to the enemy would just lead to her becoming useless and killed, she didn't seem evil at least, 'maybe as a guide', he thought.
--- The next morning ---
Erik had in his hands a "gift" for Crabina, and she did indeed liked it a lot naively... an electroshock collar, if he so wanted he could fry her brain anytime, also equipped with a camera, microphone, and tracking system to keep an eye on her. Seeing the happy girl jumping around happily he couldn't avoid chuckling and patting her head, 'how can anyone be so naive? she seemed scared yesterday after all... well, it doesn't matter as long as she wears that collar'.
Crabina on the other hand was happy, the collar was the shiniest thing she had ever seen! the strange biped creature wasn't so scary in her eyes after gifting her something so valuable and pretty!.
Now Erik just needed to finish 1 task, train a machine learning model with the equivalent of words spoken by him in Spanish and then different octopeople in their language so it could create a database of frequencies for training the IA translation system.
--- 1 week later ---
Took him a week but it was finally ready, it looked like a bracelet and was wirelessly connected to an earpod on his ear translating the octopeoples words and his voice coming out of the bracelet, he also installed the same system on the helmet of his dive suit.
The octopeople were really surprised to hear him talk in their language and considered him even more mysterious, Crabina was also super excited too, turns out she was severely lacking attention, the moment she had someone friendly to talk to she never stopped talking, thankfully he also learned something nice, apparently, the rock crab sentinels were sloppy and lazy, that brought a smile to his face as he was planning to take full advantage of that.
