Ch.0 - Prologue

Sovereign of Destruction Ch.0 - Prologue (1)

The beautiful sky was full of dark clouds, ravens flocking together - Cawing at the tragedy below their feet.

Looking down, a village was seen burned down to the ground, turning most things into ashes. What was once sturdy oak woods turned into clumps of brittle charcoal. What was once clean pavement of stones turned into blemished darkened stones, stained with blood and bodily liquids.

Surviving corpses were scattered around, decomposing everywhere, releasing the smell of rotten flesh into the air.

Admist in the mountain of corpses strewn together. A young boy opened his eyes, showing the lightless eyes of his - He moved around, causing the black string sunk deeply into his flesh to rip off, and after a while. His small jaw opened and he spoke words unfit for his age. “Points of fire happened there, attacks came from the small hill, and the traps malfunctioned, allowing the attackers to have an edge in the battle, easily breaking through the walls of defence. The battle was quick and decisive. The leader of the enemy likely joined in the battle and with his strength of three human peak strength, he easily rampaged throughout the entire battlefield with no tribulations. The defenders of mortals were helpless and they were used as paints to paint this portrayal of tragedy. As for this mountain of strewn corpses, I have no idea.” Ignoring the bleeding wounds, and the pain. The young boy with lifeless eyes intended to investigate further, however sounds of approaching footsteps entered his right ear. He immediately hid behind the dead body of a female human that was near him - With his small figure and experience of doing this, it was done in mere seconds.

Soon a figure of a young handsome man with pale complexion, grey hair, and red eyes entered his vision. Behind him were two female humans with sculpted-like figures, doned in black attire with a hood and a wooden tengu-like mask that hid their faces. He looked directly at them and they also looked directly at him. However, they did not make an indication that he was discovered and he stood still like a statue, appearing like a corpse with opened eyes in their vision. A laughter emerged inwardly in him, as he planned what to do next.

However, before he could utter a single thought. The pale man showed a glint in his eyes - Within a second, the young boy roughly rolled under the dead body. A boney spike rose up at the spot where he was just a moment ago. With two abyss-like eyes watching the trio, he turned into a shadowy figure, and moved in like an unstoppable tide. He raised up his right arm and straightened his hand to execute his killer move. The pale man’s eyes reflected the sinister dark hand gunning for his head, however, with the difference in strength, speed, and cultivation. The pale man backtracked his steps and spun quickly with great control, allowing the attack to pass him by a hairbreadth. He did not waste this chance to return the favor, and launched a left-handed punch that caused the air to answer his will, swiftly forming into a vortex that spinned out of control. With wide-eyes, the young boy emerging out from his shadowy form, mustered up his remaining Qi to twist his body like a twig, dodging the fatal attack at the cost of his body in an awkward position. He ignored the intesified pain and landed onto the ground like a feline animal - His little arms couldn’t handle the landing force but he still continued to execute the next action, leaping forward with his arms.

Like an expert in acrobatics, he landed with his feet, and soon danced through the makeshift forest of spiky bones created from the pale man's fury of Qi attacks - It was like an out of control underwater volcano. This allowed him time to forcefully draw in Qi and use it to turn into a shadowy figure again. His speed greatly enhanced, as he saw the trio approaching, he instinctively avoided the pale man’s fist, and the female duo’s spears.

“Demonic Scoundrel! You dare attack me! You must be seeking death!!” Finally, the pale man who was holding his shock at the sudden attack by the Corpse Pretender who he thought was just a mortal ended up being a young cultivator who practices Demonic Arts like the shadowy form he has seen.

“Hmph!” The young boy willed the air around him, allowing him to surprise the pale man with his sudden turn and landing an Qi Amplified Kick onto his right side, sending him flying. He did not have the time to enjoy his enemy’s scream before he ducked with the help of the air to narrowly avoid the perfectly-synchronized spear jab of the female duo. “Like a lamb waiting to be executed! You dare!?” With an arrogant tone on par with the pale man, he stretched his arms out and touched the female duo’s exposed skin. Within seconds, he sucked them dry of Qi.

The female duo immediately retaliated, shocked and scared. However, before their retreat was in play, the young boy was already a step ahead of them, and within from his body, shadowy spikes came out, piercing the female duo’s bodies everywhere. It was a basic Qi attack, but it was simple and lethal.

The female duo fell from the air.

The pale man seeing this, screamed like a tyrant, but controlled his rising emotions, and immediately went to save the female duo.

The young boy did not continue his ruthless attacks and used this chance to escape.

With the forced drawing in of Qi and the usage of his Mortal-Grade Body, he was already on the brink of exhaustion. His eyes were tired and his insides were churning in hot flame and screaming out of pain. “GARH!” He spat out blood, but he continued to run away.
