Chapter 11. Four Tests, The Mind-Heart, The Physique, The Spirit-Soul and Essence (Part Three)

Chapter 11. Four Tests, The Mind-Heart, The Physique, The Spirit-Soul and Essence (Part Three)

The Heavenly Lock or Spiritual Lock which came from Heavenly or otherwise known as Spiritual Sense in the Mortal World, was a lock which was almost impossible to escape from.

Only those with an incredibly powerful Soul or Mind would be capable of bypassing it, by Soul, one could use it to shatter the lock, with the mind, the lock would be forcibly pushed out or shattered.

Li Deshi didn't worry about anything like it being shattered or pushed out, but right now, something was happening to it....

Zhou Ye didn't notice it either, but as soon as the Heavenly Lock entered into his body, there was something in his body that started to act.

At the same time, within Yan Mo's body was the lofty expressed man, he continuously muttered to himself and even shouted, but Yan Mo didn't hear a single word.

If Yan Mo did so, he would likely feel that the lofty expressed man was quite eccentric....

The lofty expressed man kept on muttering, "That Kid.... Hahahahaha, Whats with my luck! Perhaps I can sow some positive karma! I might even finally leave this godforsaken realm! Who knows, I might in the future breakthrough to the Void Opening Stage!".

If this was a Demonic Practitioner then they would likely wish to take Zhou Ye's body, this wasn't just due to the Path that they took, it was because of ignorance!

If the lofty expressed man had a chance of taking Zhou Ye's body, he wouldn't dare to. When he first saw Zhou Ye's display, it instantly reminded him of a certain expert.....

In fact, regardless of which Path that a Martial Artist took, seizing another's body would be possible... Even a Practitioner of the Deva Path which generalized to the Righteous Path wasn't above that.

Only those Celestials and Gods would have the pride and righteousness to not seize a body, others would definitely do so.

Within Zhou Ye's body, there was something in his body that started to devour the Heavenly Lock....

In less than the time it took to brew a cup of tea and for Zhou Ye to arrive at the biggest building, the Heavenly Lock was almost completely gone.

Li Deshi, just then noticed the Heavenly Lock was almost gone, at first he didn't worry too much, after all, he wasn't a minor figure.

Spirit Foundation Cultivators had an incredible memory, Soul Emergents had a photographic memory and those of the First Transition could easily remember a year's worth of information for several decades, granted that they at least try to keep it as a memory when it first happened.

Obviously, Spirit Foundation Cultivators even with such memories wouldn't be able to remember everything, as more time passed, their memories would be diluted unless action was taken, Soul Emergents suffered the same deviations, even those of the First Transition would face such deviations if sufficient time passed.

But Li Deshi's cultivation was muddled, he clearly wasn't an Enlightened Cultivator, his cultivation was blurry....

But he was surprised because he actually couldn't remember Zhou Ye, he started to panic, just before the Heavenly Lock disappeared, he made another one....

At the same time, Ven An then quietly entered the room and silently went behind him, she whispered to her teacher, "Teacher, won't you teach me more on the Heavenly Sense?".

Li Deshi quickly responded with, "I'm busy, go bother, Chen Fu". Ven An then decided to leave, arguing against her Master? She knew too much how the experience felt when one argued with Li Deshi.

As Ven An was leaving, she heard a word, it was "wait", she then smiled and began to turn around, but the next moment, her smile turned upside down and she simply left with an angry stride.

After Li Deshi said "wait" he continued to "As you're leaving, can you tell people not to disturb me?".

After that, a few people came up to Ven An to ask her of Li Deshi, from the tone of these people, it was obvious that they didn't know that Ven An was the Princess of the Ven Kingdom, they only knew her to be the Apprentice of the Spiritual Capacity Tester.

Ven An knowing there was nowhere left to go, simply went to Chen Fu's place to wait for a bit.

Quite some time passed, as the Lightning Hall, Golden Fire Sect and the Rising Sun and Brilliant Moon Sect were as a part of the Tri-Sect Alliance and the signature sects of the Kingdom, they were already there and ready.

The Yun Star Sect and Origin Temple had yet to arrive, when the Yun Star Sect had heard that the event was starting early, a member of the Yun Star Sect looked to his Elder and said "Elder Mu, why do we have to go quicker now? They're only a small City and barely worth your attention!".

This Elder's surname was obviously Yun as was the tradition of members of the Sect, rather his first name was Mu and was thus addressed as such.

The Yun Star Elder Mu looked to the young member and said "It's not just for them, it's for more than just that....", it was obvious that the Yun Star Elder meant that his real goal was something else to what the younger member believed.

The Yun Star group was arriving within a small carriage with an Emergent beast at the very front which went at incredible speeds towards the City.

As for the Origin Temple, their people were wearing almost completely white robes with a black temple on the chest and back, currently, they were walking, but each step could be seen as walking a few metres and no slower than the Emergent beast.

Zhou Ye at that time was talking with Ye Cheng, in all honesty, they didn't have much to talk about.

At that time, a loud voice was heard. "The Test of the Physique will now begin!".

This loud voice came from a young adult standing, he wore a white robe and looked as if he was looking down at the people below him.

He was at the Peak of the Foundation, as a Spirit Master, he was someone that had the ability to look down on everyone. But he wondered why people like Yan Mo, Wu Lin and the girl had arrived, any of the three could easily defeat him.....

As for everyone else, they had just then stepped into cultivation.

People like these weren't born in Mortal Areas, and they all stepped into the very start of the Spirit Foundation.

But for them advanced to the Soul Emergence stage was a near impossibility. Embarking on the road to Emergence, one would form their own statue.

Forming a statue and advanced needed two things! Talent and resources.... (Refer back to Prologue 3 for more information)

The people here didn't have very good talent, nor did they have resources.... Becoming a Spirit Acolyte of the Middle Foundation was likely the best they could ever reach.

(Middle stage of Spirit Foundation is called a Spirit Acolyte, prologue 3)

But even within that Stage, there were differences in power. That was because power was measured mainly in physical amounts at the Spirit Foundation stage.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This was done by measuring one's strength in Jin. In most cases, an Early Foundation Acolyte would have the strength of about Two Hundred to Four Hundred Jin. As for Middle Foundation Acolyte's, their strength would be about Six Hundred to One Thousand and Two Hundred Jin.

Those of a Late Foundation Master, their strength was One Thousand and Five Hundred Jin to Three Thousand Jin. This was the difference between an Acolyte and a Master. As for Peak Foundation Masters, they boasted the strength of Four Thousand Jin to Six Thousand Jin.

Beyond Spirit Masters were Spirit Magnates, they failed to enter the Emergence Stage and could only get parts of the statue instead.

Generally, their strength was around Seven Thousand Jin to Nine Thousand Nine Hundred and Ninety-Nine Jin.

Ten Thousand was the amount for those of Emergence, this could only be matched by those known as Spirit Lords. Spirit Lords were Spirit Masters that managed to attain the power to contest with Emergent Cultivators.

If a Spirit Lord became a Spirit Magnate, they would instead be called a Spirit King. A Spirit King, would have the strength of over Ten Thousand Jin, as for those Spirit Lord's that became Emergents? They would be a Sect Chosen.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Physique Test was done via measuring one's physical strength in comparison to their level, as well as measuring one's talent through their inborn and innate body and its Root.

Though the latter of measuring one's talent through the inborn and innate body with its Root had long since been changed to the Spirit-Soul Test.

The Mind-Heart Test was measured through one's mentality and ability of comprehension, they would be given something to comprehend as well as an test to see the limits of one's mind.

The Spirit-Soul Test was the most important test and was otherwise known as the Spiritual Capacity Test, it measured one's Spiritual Soul Power.

Essence was different.... It was quite hard to understand...

Physique was managed through practical assessment and the other three tests were measured through a colour grading system.

The Colour Grading system was Six Grades. From the Terrible Red, Inferior Orange, Minor Yellow, Major Green, Mythical Blue and Legendary Violet.

The Majority of people had a Color like what Zhou Ye would normally be at such as Red and a few such as the Zhou Patriarch's Son would have Orange.

Yellow and Green were rarely found in an entire Kingdom and Blue was extremely rare in even Empires and Violet was only seen every thousand years.

Existences such as Yuan Zen and Zhenren Ling, in their lifetime actually saw quite a few of these talents of the Violet level. One became a Spirit King and was Honoured as a Spirit Emperor and managed to slay even a First Transition with a single slash of her blade. (Cultivation levels go for both Genders unless it's strictly specific)

Another became a Formation Genius and created the Forming Land Corporation. One became an Emergent, but one day disappeared. But in the entire Empire, there was only ever one person from the Royal Family to have a Violet Grade.

This was the Fourteenth Generation Emperor of the Zhenren Empire. He was often known as the most Virtuous and Righteous Emperor and his descendants ruled the entirety of the Western Domain of the Zhenren Empire.
