You were walking through the streets at night. You had had a late shift. You had one earbud in as you walked down the sidewalk, messing with your phone. This was your first mistake. You knew you lived on the bad side of the city, but you were tired.
You didn’t even realize someone was following you.
So, it wasn’t really a surprise when you were yanked into an alleyway with a switchblade point at your throat.
“Uuh… Th-that’s a way to say hello to someone.” You stammer out but freeze up as the mugger pokes you a bit with the point of the blade. “R-right!! W-wallet and p-ph-phone right?” That was how this always went on tv anyway. The mugger would always demand the wallet and phone.
“Smart kid.” The mugger smirked a bit. “Give ‘em.”
“Not so fast!!!” Came a new voice.
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
Both you and the Mugger looked down the alleyway to see a tall young woman with red hair and a gas mask jump down from the fire escape.
“It ain’t Halloween, bitch!” The mugger snapped, “Now shove off! This doesn’t concern you!” He tried to focus back on you, but he was pulled back by the young woman. She even grabbed his wrist and squeezed so he’d let you go.
“But you’re hurting people in my city, so it does concern me.”She said as she pulled out some zip ties to handcuff him. She did take a peek in his bag. “Wowwww!! Lotta phones and wallets in here. Not all yours either I bet. Let’s get you to the police station. I’m sure they’ll make sure everyone gets their stuff back.”
“W-wait!!” You call out, finally finding your voice again, though you were shaking. “Wh-whats your name…??”
“Oh, here..!” She didn’t seem to register the question as she handed you a hard candy. “It’s a sakura candy! It’ll help you calm down.” She stood back again, still holding onto the mugger as she seemed to realize what you asked.
“O-oh! Um… Ginger Attack! Yeah, that’s my name!” She said.
“That’s fucking stupid.” The mugger huffed. He did say what you were thinking, albeit in a ruder way.
“I didn’t ask you!” Ginger Attack huffed, “Let’s get you to the station, Jerky McJerkson. Can you get home safely??” She asked, looking back at you.
You nodded. “Y-yeah! I’m not that far from my apartment building. Literally just a few more feet.”
“Good! Have a safe night!” And she hefted the mugger over her shoulder and carried him from the alley, leaving you still mystified.
“T-thank you! Ginger Attack!”
