The scream pierced through the night, loud and clear, rippling through the stillness of the moor-like land. Tobias Berkley was in the middle of the fields, way past the borders of the Institute and hidden amongst the tall untrimmed grass. It was night-time, silver moonlight shining from high above.
The scream continued, long and drawn out. Tobias felt a chill running down his spine. He was moving now, pushing through the blades of grass.
"Hey!" he called out, although it didn't feel like he had moved his mouth. "Hey! Where are you?"

He was searching for something, someone. Who? He didn't know. The scream echoed throughout the field before suddenly it teetered off in the distance. Tobias froze. "Hello?" he yelled.
But there was no reply.
Around him, the field was silent. A breeze passed by, making waves on the grass, cooling the sweat on Tobias' skin. It was as though nothing had happened.
Then a growl rang through the field.
