Soul King System
The beginning of a legend

The beginning of a legend

An ordinary young man, who appeared to be 16, asked himself a question:

" Where am I ?  "

As he stood in the middle of a vast plain filled with red sand, he felt his body warming as his soul was frozen.

[System initialization]

1% ...

2% ...

8% ....

As the system updated, William was wondering all kinds of questions until ...

[System ERROR]

[Human body not suitable for system update.]

[Forced breed modification to fit the system.]

William then felt an intense pain deep in his soul as if it was being stretched in the senses and curling into a ball like a sheet of paper.

"AHHHHHH"

The pain lasted as William saw his whole life paraded before his eyes. While it seemed that an eternity had passed, the pain finally stopped.

A message appeared in front of him:

" What is happening here ? As confusion washed over William he noticed a fuzzy shape approaching him.

"From the form it looks like it's a human, he might be able to help me." As William remembered the pain he just suffered, he instantly sweated.

The figure approached and finally William could notice what it was.

The author's tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.

"Shit, how is that even possible!

What approached him was not wearing clothes, or even skin, it was a moving skeleton.

Ding

[The system detects hostile intent.]

[Automatically triggered enemy identification.]

As William analyzed the status that suddenly popped up another message popped up.

Ding

Triggered quest: "Become the Hunter"

Condition: Defeat a skeleton (0/1)

Reward: 10exp, Activation of a system feature

Detail: "To survive it is imperative for the user to become stronger!" "

As William read the messages floating in front of him, the skeleton began to run at full speed in his direction.

"Damn, although my stats are higher than his, he not only has skills but a sword as well…" As William started to panic, the skeleton wasted no time.

He shortened the distance in an instant and a sword approached William's head instantly. Relying on his instincts, William instantly escaped, no kidding at what point a sane person wouldn't start running? Unfortunately the agility of the two is tied so William knows very well that if he starts running he is doomed to die because unlike him, the skeleton has unlimited endurance. So he took his courage in both hands and while the skeleton swung his sword he looked for a loophole to manage to strike a blow.

As the blows followed one after the other, William slowly got used to the rhythm of the battle and even a certain excitement began to show in him until only by instinct William suddenly approached. from the skeleton by narrowly escaping a slash and punched the skeleton in the face.

A small message was displayed above the skull of the skeleton:

-10

But before William could express his joy, the skeleton, who took a few steps back, as if he had not suffered anything, sent a sword blow at himself.

" Not good ! "

William cannot fully dodge and received a large diagonal wound extending from his chest to his right collarbone.

-13

"Damn I forgot, the skeletons are totally insensitive, but although I have great pain, it is completely in my tolerance zone" Indeed after having undergone the inhuman torture of the system, his will was strengthened  on a whole new level.  But William couldn't have time to think about it as the skeletons moved closer again and began to string together the slashes, thrusts and a special footwork, like a well-oiled machine.

"These skeletons are really indefatigable eh" William sighed as he himself began to feel his body grow heavy.

"It's all or nothing, by my calculations if I manage to touch him again then I win the game or I die" After this thought the feeling of excitement was such that even his aura began to change although it does not affect the skeleton in any way. After understanding the skeleton attack pattern, William seized the opportunity again to throw a punch, and the skeletons obviously not learning their last lesson couldn't react in time.

-10

-10

As this magnificent number displayed, the skeletons began to collapse. And then a notification suddenly pops up.

[Detect that a rank (F-) skeleton has been defeated.]

[1exp (+0,5) received.]

[10exp are obtained.]

[Exp satisfied ...]

[Level Up.]

[Soul King functionality is enabled.]

[The hidden Power of Soul statistic is revealed.]

[Congratulations!]

[The user is now able to harness some of the power of the system.]

[User now has the ability to resurrect defeated creatures to turn them into subordinates.]

As William marveled at the power of the system, another notification rang.

Ding

[A nearby soul qualifies to become a subordinate.]

[Hint, if the user wants to revive the skeleton, all they have to do is convey their intention.]

"Hahahaha, stand up brave warrior, from now on you have the honor to be part of my glorious army"

Suddenly, the skeleton that was totally dismembered quickly began to regenerate, finally kneeling in front of its master.

As William looked at his first warrior another notification rang:

Ding.

[Congratulations to the user for welcoming their first soul.]

So began the journey of the man who literally had the strength of an army.
