The mana core determines the mage's potential and future .
The cores are classified into
Common Core (Grade E)
This is the weakest grade and the highest realm achievable is usually rank 1
Mana capacity is below 20%..
Adept Core (Grade D)
This is also considered weak grade and highest realm usually achievable is rank 1 - 2.
Mana capacity is between 21%-39%.
Skilled Core (Grade C)
This grade can only be considered ordinary and the highest realm achievable is usually rank 2 - 3.
Mana capacity is between 40%-59%.
Master Core (Grade B)
This grade can be considered good and the highest realm achievable is usually rank 3 - 4.
Mana Capacity is between 60%-79%.
Grandmaster Core (Grade A)
This grade can be considered exceptional and the mage can reach rank 5 , and perhaps even become a Sage with enough preparations.
Mana Capacity is between 80% - 90%

These cores are different from normal core there are many types of Unique Core like the mutated fire core which has a high affinity towards fire path these core are usually has normal capacity but only consumes 1/4th of the mana when using fire skills and fire skill also get magnified by the core exerting higher power than normal there aren't many information about Unique cores.
and next there is magic proficiency Which is the understanding of the element of the path of magic the mage has. This is also an important aspect for the mage if the mage has high proficiency in a certain path he can create spell potion in that path or even create a new type of spell potion which will help the mage in battle and defense .

to rank up in this world mages need to absorb magical beast core of the same rank and the beast should be completely hunted by the mage that absorbs the core if the core has other's mana traces then the core absorption will get failed and mage will suffer backlash and the amount of magic beast cores required for each rank up is decided by the Arcane will usually the higher the grade the lower the core consumption but there are cases where the a Arcane will has a very high core requirement regard less of the grade
