Assassination

Assassination

As an assassin, Tie Mu was always prepared to die during a mission. He was a Qi General, whose job was to assassinate whatever target the leader of the group assigned to him.

This target was a particular one. A new prodigy has arisen in the Yellow Orchid Sect. His mission was to simply nip the bud before it grew bigger. His element was shadow so it was very easy for him to sneak and infiltrate into enemy territory.

As a shadow approached the walls of the Yellow Orchid Sect, Tie Mu followed the predetermined route that the leader gave to him. The Yellow Orchid Sect like all powers was filled with corruption and in-fighting.

So it was quite easy for him to infiltrate inside the sect. Someone in the sect probably wanted to get rid of the genius. This explained why it was so easy for Tie Mu to infiltrate the sect, as there would be no reason why such a large sect would be so laid back in its defense.

As Tie Mu approached the manor his target was supposed to reside in. He had already thought of how he would escape after killing the target. He had never taken into account that he would be killed by his target.

It would be quite laughable for a Qi General to be killed by someone who hasn’t even stepped into the cultivation world yet. His shadow shifted from various objects, bypassing the various security inside the manor.

As he searched the rooms one by one, he detected a breakthrough that was happening.

‘No wonder he’s a genius, he started to cultivate today yet he has already broken through as a Qi Apprentice.’

‘I have to kill him now unless I want this monster as my enemy in the future.’

Tie Mu changed direction as he headed toward the cultivation room. He lay in wait like a predator ready to ambush his helpless prey. It didn’t take long for the stone door that was locking the room to open.

His target, a young teen with long black hair and pale white skin, walked out. Tie Mu used his pure physical strength combined with a bit of shadow Qi to strike his dagger at the teen. He didn’t want to use any spells or techniques that required too much Qi, or else it’d alert the sect.

As the dagger approached the target’s head, Tie Mu had a strange feeling. As if the target’s eyes never looked at the dagger that was approaching him, but had always been staring at him the whole time.

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

His breathing started to get heavier and heavier. As the youth’s eyes seemed to shine a purple glow, Tie Mu’s arms stopped. For some reason, the stare the youth was giving him seemed to be of a calmness unbefitting of the situation.

It was as if he was already looking at a corpse. Trying to regain his wits, Tie Mu struck again, trying to suppress the eerie feelings that were rising inside of him. As he waited in anticipation for his dagger to sink into his target’s head and shatter his brain.

‘Wait.’

‘Where am I?’

Those were the last two conscious thoughts Tie Mu had before he realized he was transported to an endless void, pure pitch-black darkness. The only thing facing him was a hideous creature.

Its leg was 1000 times bigger than his whole body, and its head was disgusting as it lacked a lower jaw. This creature, no this demon, is something that shouldn’t exist in the mortal world. Tie Mu’s brain started to fry, as the pressure the creature was giving him started to shatter his soul.

Its reptile-like eyes stared down at him, an indifference similar to a God staring at an ant. Tie Mu desperately screamed as he tried to mobilize his Qi to escape. Before he could even move, Zhou Yan had already picked him up and eaten him.

Back to reality, Tie Mu was staring at Zhou Yan while drooling. He was already dead. Zhou Yan had dragged his soul into his soul palace and ate his soul. Of course, there were consequences as Zhou Yan’s already damaged Soul Palace started to crack even more.

‘Not too bad.’

‘Although my Soul Palace is even more cracked, my cultivation has increased and I got his memories.’

Taking Tie Mu’s dagger, Zhou Yan aimed it at his heart. The dagger was a treasure, although way worse in quality compared to his mask, it still was a treasure. Before the dagger could hit his heart, the ground started to shake heavily, as the ground covered Zhou Yan in an egg shape.

Daoist Wang had placed a life-saving method on his body before he got sent out. Although he hid it cleverly, it could never escape Zhou Yan’s eyes. As Zhou Yan was placed inside the egg, the manor started to break down as it suffered the wrath of the earth.

Everything around Zhou Yan started to get crushed by the shaking of the ground. The maids and Tie Mu’s body were all killed by the heavy earthquake that moved the ground in a wave-like manner.

Daoist Wang was flying above Zhou Yan’s manor. It took him less than a second to arrive at the location. At his level of cultivation, he could already cut through space, and achieve teleportation. When the earthquake had finished.

Daoist Wang broke the egg that was encasing Zhou Yan’s body, as he checked his condition. Zhou Yan passed out with a pale expression. Although Daoist Wang was infuriated that someone had already tried to kill his disciple he was also happy.

‘This child has already reached Qi Apprentice 4th Stage, what a terrifying talent.’

Taking Zhou Yan’s passed-out body back to his dao cave. Elder Wang calmly waited for Zhou Yan to wake up. Zhou Yan was already awake, clearly conscious about everything happening around the body. This was just the beginning of his next plan.
