"LYDOOO, DINNERS READY, I MADE YOUR FAVORITE"
(Dang it, I wanna keep reading but mom is calling me...)
[Lydo grabs a nearby makeshift bookmark made of leather and places it inside the history book he had been reading. Lydo reminiscences on the contents of the book as he skips out of his father's study and into the kitchen.]
(Apparently in the past, relations between the Elven, Dwarven, and Human kingdoms were very bad, so bad that an all out war almost broke out. Just thinking of a full-scale war between the three kingdoms sends chills down my spine... Thankfully the former prince, now king of the human kingdom was able to mend relations with the other two kings.)
[Lydo sits down at the wooden dinner table, he smiles as the steam from the bowl of hot spaghetti warms his chin. His stomach grumbles as the rich, garlicky aroma radiates the room.]
[Lydo picks up his fork and stuffs his mouth full of spaghetti. He feels his mouth tongue burning as he quickly chews the hot noodles and fans his mouth with his hands.]
(Ah! Hothothot!)
Mom - Careful Lydo! You'll burn your tongue if you eat too fast!

[His father chuckles to himself as he watches his wife worry about their son. He picks up a fork of spaghetti and blows on it for a few seconds before savoring the taste.]
[Lydo's mother is named Claria, she's 38 year old woman who used to earn a living by adventuring. By saving up cash she and her husband Charles are able to live pretty comfortably. Charles currently works as an accountant for the Esperin Kingdom]
'hidden book on magic hidden in the study - set up love for magic here. Magic exposition dump.'
`pre sleep inner monologue`
[Lydo walks back to the study after dinner, although their family doesn't own many books, he's been steadily reading the few books they do have and has been absorbing the information from them. He's always had an unexplained thirst for knowledge, and a curiosity for the unknown.]
[Lydo goes over to the collection of books his father has and sees a book he hasn't noticed before. It's cover read "The Art of Mage-Craft".]
(Wait.. is this.. I didn't know we had a book on magic? I'm sure I've already checked all the books... Just where did this come from..? Oh well! I've only been able to see actual magic once, I'm excited to learn it myself!)
[Lydo spends the next couple hours reading the mysterious new book.]
["the groundwork to becoming a great mage, is to first understand the universe. Once you understand the universe, then you may manipulate it."]
["Your soul is the conduit that connects you to the universe. By focusing deeply on this connection, you are able to feel the deeper inclinations of the universe."]
["Your 'Soul Density' essentially controls your magics power and speed. Mages are split into 8 categories based on the density of their soul. The categories are 'White, Silver, Yellow, Orange, Red, Blue, Purple, Black' the more dense your soul is, the closer to black your rank is. Most mages never make it past Red, while the very best are in the purple stage. There are no known magicians that have made it into the Black stage."]
[You can raise your Soul Density by consuming the essence from soul gems. Soul Gems are found by killing any animal. Typically, the more dangerous the beast, the higher grade the gem is. Soul Gems are graded from S-Tier to F-Tier]
Claria - "Lydo! It's time for bed!"
(Oh! I lost track of time, I didn't even realize how tired I am.)
[Lydo leaves his father's study and gets in his bed. Claria tucks him in and gives him a small peck on the forehead]
Claria - "Sweet dreams my little scholar"
[3 years later]
