Test and Mysterious Teacher - Chapter 1

Bluebeast Empire - Red Almond Town

Crol woke up with a smile on his face.

After taking a deep breath and swallowing, he got out of bed, and with the sparkle in his eyes, he quickly started getting dressed.

Today was a very important day for him.

The Ancestor Wizards, whom he had been waiting for for years, were finally coming to their small town, Red Almond Town.

The sole reason for their visit was to gather young people with potential in the Red Almond Town and enroll them in wizard schools.

Like all the other young people, Crol had grown up with the dream of becoming a wizard.

Since childhood, the tales of wizards' heroism have filled his dreams.

At the age of 16, he was a young man helping his parents in the Town.

Due to financial difficulties in the small town, his mother, Laura, and father, Karn, didn't have another child after him.

After getting ready, Crol left his room and caught the scent of the meal his mother had cooked.

"It smells awesome." Crol murmured.

At that moment, the pleasant voice of a woman echoed through the house.

"Crol, come sit at the table; I'm bringing the food!"

With a big smile on his face, Crol sat at the table and waited.

Shortly afterward, a tired but beautiful blonde woman entered the room with a steaming tray in her hand and placed it on the table.

"Meat and bread, isn't it a bit extravagant, mother?" Crol asked.

Laura replied with a smile, "Nonsense, my son. I know today is important for you. Eat well and show the respected wizards how powerful you are."

Without saying anything else, Crol started eating. Meanwhile, Laura looked at her son with an emotional expression on her face. She couldn't help but think,

"What if he can't become a wizard?"

After finishing his meal, Crol left the house without wasting any more time and headed towards the town center.

As he walked, he noticed many other excited young people progressing alongside him.

Some small children were accompanied by their fathers or mothers.

They were all friends, familiar with each other in the small town.

But now they were all very excited, and no one had any intention of talking.

----------------------------------------

"All right, everyone form a line."

A middle-aged man with a long brown beard looked at the young people with his eyes piercing their souls trying to scare them of a little bit and told them to form a line.

In a short time, the youngsters formed neat lines of rows with excited and expectant eyes.

Behind the middle-aged man, there was a blue tent, and no one knew what was inside the tent.

A few minutes later, the middle-aged man coughed a couple of times, and all the young people started listening attentively.

"In an orderly manner, you will enter the tent you see behind me."

"When you finish what you have to do in the inside of the tent, you will quietly exit and leave the area and go back to your home."

"If you make too much noise, it won't be good for you!"

After finishing his words, the middle-aged man looked at a young man in the front row and gestured for him to enter.

The young man, with an excited and concerned expression on his face, started moving forward.

"Please, Radiant God, I just want to be wizard..." he murmured as he entered the tent.

After just a few minutes, he came out and left the area.

No one knew what he did in the tent and why he was so quick.

Crol patiently waited his turn. With every passing minute, new individuals entered and exited.

He had many questions on his mind.

What was happening inside?

Why were there rapid entries and exits?

Who could become a wizard, and who couldn't?

All these thoughts occupied his mind.

At that moment, the middle-aged man, Arnold, looked at him.

Arnold was the man responsible for the town's administration, and everyone knew who he was.

Arnold spoke in a calm voice, "It's your turn, Crol, go inside."

Crol took a deep breath and, with hope in his eyes, entered the blue tent.

After a few seconds of darkness, he saw a human figure.

Stolen content warning: this tale belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences elsewhere.

The figure was dressed in pitch-black clothes, and in front of it was a table and a shapeless stone.

The figure then gave orders in a calm but authoritative tone.

"Approach and touch the stone. After touching the stone, breathe calmly and steadily.

"It is best if you imagine yourself in a place you want to be most."

Crol moved forward with calm steps, touched the shapeless stone, and then began to breathe deeply and steadily.

After a few seconds, the shapeless stone began to glow with a green light.

Crol noticed the stone losing its color after a while.

He had many questions in his mind about what would happen next and what was expected of him.

At that moment, he heard a man's voice next to him.

"Calm down, young man; this is a very good sign."

Crol looked toward the source of the voice and saw a middle-aged man with slightly gray hair and a bony face. "Sir, what happens now?" Crol spoke calmly and respectfully.

The man approached, placed his hand on Crol's shoulder, and smiled.

"What's your name, young man?"

Crol swallowed and answered,

"My name is Crol, sir."

With a smile on his face, the middle-aged man extended his hand, shook Crol's hand, and began speaking.

"My name is Armal; I am a wizard. Come with me; we will exit from behind the tent. I want you to take me directly to your family's home."

Crol didn't say anything and started following the wizard named Armal.

They exited from the back, and Crol directed Armal straight to his home. Meanwhile, Armal began to speak.

"I'm sure you have many questions. I want you to keep those questions in mind for now. All you need to know is that you have the potential to be a wizard, and the test has been successful."

After Armal's words, Crol's heart raced with excitement. His dream was coming true today. Everything he wanted was becoming a reality.

He had successfully passed the wizard test, and he had heard that there was a way for him to become a wizard.

"I did it!"

"I did it!"

After a five-minute walk, Crol arrived at the front of his house and began to speak.

"Lord Armal, this is my home."

At that moment, the door opened, and Laura came out. She looked at Crol, smiled, and then turned her gaze to Armal.

"Crol, what happened to the test, and who is this gentleman with you?"

Before Crol could answer, Armal began speaking.

"Hello, Madam. I am Wizard Armal, one of the test administrators. I came here to get your permission. "

Laura paused slightly and swallowed. She tried to adjust her appearance, bowed slightly, and began to speak.

"Lord Armal, you have come to our humble home and honored us. I wonder what kind of permission you are seeking."

Armal smiled and looked at Crol, then began to speak.

"Your son Crol has successfully passed the test and shown the potential to be a wizard."

Armal said, he looked at Crol for a few seconds and his face turned serious and emphatic as he kept on talking.

"With your permission, I would like to take a journey with your son. I will provide him with training during this journey, and at the same time, we will make plans for the future."

Laura hesitated a bit with these words, swallowing. She was aware of how important this opportunity was for her son.

Laura was not someone who cared much about the wizard test.

After all, it was a rare and difficult occurrence for someone from a small town to have the potential to be a wizard.

Laura had never imagined the possibility of her little son having the potential for magic.

She looked at Crol with her eyes and noticed his excitement. With a tremulous voice, she responded,

"If my son has the potential and his safety is assured, then I don't have much to say about this. Lord Armal, you are welcome to take my son under your wings."

Armal smiled in response to Laura's words. Then he turned to Crol and began to speak.

----------------------------------------

"Come to the town's exit in four hours; I'll be waiting for you."

"You don't need to bring food; just take clothes and necessities."

Crol nodded, and after Armal smiled, he began walking toward the center of the town.

Laura and Crol had entered the house and were sitting at a table.

"Your father won't be back for at least two more days; I'll let him know," Laura said in a quiet voice.

Crol looked at his mother, swallowed, stood up slightly, and hugged her.

"I know you're sad, Mom, but I'll be fine, and I'll visit you as soon as possible."

Laura swallowed, and a few tears started to well up in her eyes.

----------------------------------------

A few hours later, Crol had made his preparations, had his meal, and started walking toward the town's exit.

The town wasn't large, and due to living there all his life, Crol reached the exit in just 20 minutes. As he looked around, he saw Lord Armal, and a smile formed on his face.

Armal approached Crol and asked,

"Is everything ready?"

Crol nodded and replied,

"Yes, Lord Armal, I've said my goodbyes to my family."

After looking around a bit, Armal saw that a few townspeople had brought two horses.

"Mount up; let's move slowly."

Crol mounted one of the horses, and after Armal did the same, they started moving on the road.

A few minutes later, Armal began to speak.

"Now, before you ask questions, let me talk, and you listen, okay?"

Crol swallowed and didn't say anything.

Armal started speaking. His voice was a bit more authoritative than usual.

"The test conducted is an examination showing the magnitude of your soul's power. People, at least normal people, know this as the Wizard Test, while wizards refer to it as the Soul Power Test."

"People who pass the Soul Power Test are candidates to become wizards. In such cases, one of the wizards conducting the test can choose one of the candidates for training."

"We found four people in your town, and I chose you."

Crol listened attentively and whispered,

"Three others were chosen beside me, and they must have exited from the back, so from the outside, it seems like everyone failed."

Armal smiled and continued,

"In these types of test situations, the individuals who make the selection during the Soul Power Test are generally from different organizations. Organizations like ours focus on places where tests are conducted to train new wizards."

Crol agreed and hesitated for a moment before asking,

"Lord Armal, are you also affiliated with an organization?"

Armal laughed soundly and replied,

"First, you can ask me questions as you wish, and there's no need for unnecessary respect."

"As for the answer to your question, yes, I am affiliated with an organization. The name of my organization is Balanced Soul."

Crol hesitated for a few seconds and asked another question:

"Is there a special reason for choosing me? I don't know for sure, but there should be specific areas that organizations focus on."

After hearing Crol's question, Armal paused and thought.

"It's quite good for a simple town boy to be able to anticipate such a thing," he thought and then answered.

"Of course, there is a reason."

"But I'll give you all this information in the form of a book. This way, you can learn most of the general information about the wizarding world."

Crol nodded and didn't say anything.

At that moment, with the howls of more than ten wolves, they noticed that the wolves were approaching them.

Crol was slightly worried, but when he saw Armal notice, he smiled embarrassedly.

"I shouldn't forget that I'm with a wizard," he thought.

Armal began to speak at that moment.

"A wizard controls the power of the soul, speaks the right words, and brings pre-created magic to life."

"Watch closely; now I will use a simple illusion spell. The name of this spell is 'Fear' in simple terms, but you won't understand it since I'll say it in the language of magic."

Crol began to wait excitedly. It was the first time he had witnessed magic, and it made him impatient.

At that moment, the wolves had entered a 10-meter range.

Armal slightly raised his right hand and whispered, "Fimel."

With Armal's whisper, each of the ten wolves paused and started running back in fear and madness in the direction they came from.

Even for someone who wasn't a wizard-like Crol, it was easy to see the fear in their eyes.

"Incredible!"

Crol muttered to himself and looked at Armal with a big smile.
