The cyberpunk cityscape governed by Sorumeito is a sprawling metropolis where cutting-edge technology and ancient spiritual practices converge. Towering skyscrapers adorned with neon lights and holographic advertisements dominate the skyline, casting a vibrant yet eerie glow over the streets below. The city is a labyrinth of elevated highways, maglev trains, and bustling marketplaces, all interconnected in a chaotic yet efficient web.
At the heart of the city stands the Sorumeito headquarters, a colossal structure made of reflective glass and steel, symbolizing the organization's unparalleled power and influence. Surrounding it are various districts, each with its unique character:
The Neon District: This area is a sensory overload of bright lights, bustling crowds, and street vendors. Here, technology is integrated into daily life, with augmented reality kiosks, robotic assistants, and digital billboards displaying ads for the latest cybernetic enhancements and spiritual consultations.
The Underground Markets: Beneath the city's surface lies a network of shadowy alleys and hidden bazaars where illegal activities thrive. Black-market traders sell forbidden technology, counterfeit spirit communication devices, and information about underground birth rings. This district is a stark contrast to the regulated, pristine areas above, offering a glimpse into the city's darker side.
The Spiritual Quarter: A serene enclave amidst the chaos, this district is home to temples, meditation centers, and Sorumeito's spirit communication facilities. The air is filled with the scent of incense, and digital prayer wheels spin endlessly, creating a surreal blend of tradition and modernity. Here, citizens come to commune with the spirit realm, seeking guidance and solace from the ethereal beings that Sorumeito has harnessed.
The Industrial Zone: On the outskirts of the city, massive factories and warehouses churn out the technology that powers Sorumeito's operations. Workers, both human and robotic, toil away in harsh conditions, producing the devices and machinery that maintain the city's infrastructure and spirit communication systems.
Despite the city's technological advancements, a sense of unease pervades the atmosphere. The streets are patrolled by Sorumeito's enforcers, who ensure compliance with the organization's strict regulations. Surveillance drones hover above, monitoring every move, and rumors of a curse causing chaos add to the tension.
The populace is divided between those who revere Sorumeito for their promise of controlled reincarnation and those who question the ethical implications of their methods. The city's aesthetic reflects this dichotomy, with sleek, high-tech facades hiding the underlying decay and moral dilemmas faced by its inhabitants.
In this cyberpunk cityscape, the line between the living and the dead is blurred, and the true cost of Sorumeito's power remained shrouded in mystery. However, the effects continued to vibrate throughout the world. The laws morphed with the coming of the new world.

"What if you could meet your baby before you had them? You could see the person they were and will be. With Sorumeito you can! Parents can now meet the souls of their future offspring! With various levels and access to the heavens, come choose your angel today!" The advertisement played in various billboards around the city.
Followed by a reminder of the new laws that had since surfaced with Sorumeito's access to the other side.
1. Males must get a vasectomy at the end of their pubescent period.
2. In order for couples to qualify for parenthood, they must both be contributors of society.
3. Procreation not blessed by the Clergy of the Protectors provided by the Sorumeito bloodline will be sentenced to death.
Sorumeito had done what no other human could ever think of doing. They opened a door to the other side. They were able to meet souls that had passed away and reincarnate them as new human life. It wasn't natural but the idea of a world filled with heavenly souls and the possibility of peace on Earth made perspective parents throw rationale to the winds.
What did it matter that they let one family control who could procreate or not? Who cared if people were killed simply for becoming pregnant naturally? Those people didn't know what kind of soul was being reincarnated. What if it was murderer's soul? What if it was a rapist? No, the people had spoken. The idea of stopping an evil from being born was a greed even Haru Sorumeito didn't see coming.
And like any other deadly sin, this too had its repercussions. The Protectors, a group designated as the new world began, consisted of the current head of Sorumeito, a scientist, and an otherwordly being known only as 'Curator.' They worked together to maintain and control the connection between the two worlds.
"If you see here, this line represents the decrease in crime versus the rise in births provided by Sorumeito's corporation." Explained one of their many office associates, he pointed to a red line slanting down crossing with a blue line rising up.
Alma Andromeda wrote this down in her notes next to doodles of the presenter as a fish. Somebody next to her saw the drawing and giggled softly. Alma took this to understand that she was amusing. When she looked up to see who shared her humor she was surprised to see Isaac Sorumeito, the next in line to inherit Sorumeito Enterprises. Alma felt her cheeks warm up as she tried to cover up her drawing. Bowing her head shyly in reply. He winked and went back to listening to the rest of the presentation.
Alma peeked at him once more. He was a handsome young man with dark curly hair and dark eyes usually enhanced by his square glasses. Isaac was in good shape physically filling in his suits nicely. Alma's eyes wandered to the man's tie which had little designs on them, she was trying to figure out what they were when she was caught staring. From his angle it looked like she was staring at his chest. He wrote a note and slid it over. Alma took it and read it eagerly: 'My Eyes Are Up Here.'
Her face deepened in a red blush that was only hidden by the low lit room. She straightened up and didn't dare look away from the screen. Later, after they had been dismissed, she found herself in the maze of tanks hidden in the depths of the Sorumeito towers. Alma was mumbling to herself when she heard whispers coming from down the corridor. She followed the voice until coming face to face with one of the Entities.
