The dawn turned into midnight and there were still two figures drinking in the inn.
“*Hic* You are though one, I give you that *Hic*” Said Delilah while swaying left to right, on the chair.
“Ha, not like you, damn you still hanging up, after I drank 12 barrels! That is really Impressive, not only you are cute but you know how handle a real brew!” Said Duncan, while his eyes flashed with excitement although he wasn’t looking or feeling drunk at all.
“Th-thank you” Said Delilah, while hers already red cheeks blushed more brightly. ‘Why I am feeling so warm?’ she thought, while she took another shot from the mug.
She felt dizzy, but only her strong willpower kept herself from fainting.
To keep her busy she asked Duncan about his golden mug.
“Well you see, it’s a farewell gift from my mother as I went for journey around the world, there is nothing special to it.
“If that mug is no special at all, why you carry it and show it around, you could be robed by thugs or bandits” Delilah said with little of concern in her voice, not she cared for that dwarf but still she was curious.
“Don’t worry, I use that mug to see if there is a potential threat in the greedy eyes if people, I can somehow tell the intentions of people”
“Really? That’s useful skill, that you posses”
“Yup, I can even tell right now, that you would like to kiss me right now” teased Duncan.
Delilah once again blushed, but quickly regained herself and replied
“If it wasn’t for this duel, I would smack you, right now”
“I will let you if you win” Winked Duncan as he took three swings from three other mugs.
As currently Innkeeper was busy cleaning the empty cellars and would not have time to keep the track of how many barrels were long emptied by the dwarf. Even Ben and Brian as the other clients were long gone, as their wives came and drag them back to home, only leaving Duncan and Delilah alone.
As Duncan tried to pour more brew for Delilah and himself he realized that last barrel did not have anything more to drink.
“Well I guess the oasis had run dry” said Duncan
“That only leaves with one solution” Delilah said while staring Duncan eyes.
“It’s a tie” Both Duncan and Delilah said in union and then they both laughed, until Delilah fell and rolled under the table.
Meanwhile…
Certain shadows walked in decorated hallway, each step were muffled and did not carry any sound.
There were simple paintings, decorating the walls, some were presenting some landmark, some flowers and some famous knights of Trident. The shadow ignored the paintings that, were easy prey by thefts, because each painting was covered in pure-gold frame and on each corner were decorated by rubies and other high-class gems.
As the shadow walked the dark hallway, using the [Eagle Eye], it did not sensed any presence at all. This gave the cold shivers to shadow, as to expect something bad might happen.
‘Even all servants left the mansion, I hope that, I am not too late. I have bad feeling that this might be a trap, if so I am going to murder Greg for false Intel’
The shadow walked further the hallway, as he turned around the corner to check the last corridor, which supposed to lead into the main office room. The door to the office were slightly open, letting out some light that illuminated the corridor.
The shadow opened the door and walked in. In the middle of the office stood desk, behind was a balcony with great view to nearby garden, the left side of the office were emptied bookshelf's and on the rights side was, lighted fireplace which warmed the whole room and next to it was a red sofa chair on which sat the target.
As the shadow stepped silently into the room he immediately heard the words from his target
“So you finally came.” said the noble man.
The shadow, walked towards and faced the nobleman. He had gray short hair, blue eyes and handlebar mustache. He had calm looks, as he already knew that his life ends here.
As the shadow stepped closer to the nobleman, the light from the fireplace illuminated the shadow figure and face.
The shadow had a perfect slim body of a woman, with fire-red hair, tied in ponytail, a very graceful face, with small long nose and rose colored iris. She might be considered a beauty if not for the scar on her throat.
“I came for information and you better start talking.” She said in commanding tone.
“There is nothing for me to say since I am already a dead man.” The nobleman stood up and turned to face the fire. “Do it quickly.” He said while closing his eyes.
“I am not here to kill you, all I want is Information and if you answer my question I will save your life” said the assassin.
The words struck the noble, he quickly turned around and looked at the eyes of the assassin, then on the closer inspecting he realize that person does not belong to the assassin order that wants his life.
“You are not from Nocturne Blades order aren’t you? Who are you? Who send you?” Asked the Nobleman.
“I am no one important and no one sended me. I seek you out of my own initiative. Now let me ask you why the are you targeted by the Nocturne Blades?”

“Recently I ended up in possession of certain artifact. While I was travelling, my escort found a old ruins. Excited by discovery in secret I hired some mercenaries and diggers. It took two days to get into main, burial chamber. In there the were some old inscriptions as well a strange looking pendant, secured that there were no traps, I took the amulet.
In my previous travels I had a friend who always was thirsty for knowledge, know that i decided to visit him. Of course that maniac was so obsessed by the amulet, that he would sell his soul for a chance to study it. I agreed that I will give him the amulet after I will pay the workers for the silence, I didn't want to spread rumors. When I returned another day, his study room was in ruin and I found him near death state, not before he died in my arms, he told me to hide the amulet and run for my life, as the infamous Nocturne Blades wanted my life.
After that I sold most of my possession and gave it to my royal servants and thank them for their services and then I closed myself here. Wait for my death.” Explained the Nobleman. His face showed regret, as if he didn't found that ruin, he would not lost his friend.
“Thank you for the story, but now tell me, do you still have the amulet?” asked the assassin.
The nobleman hesitantly nodded.
“Good now show me where is and then I will lead you to safe place” The assassin said, but instead of the answer, she felt a strange pressured in the air coming from the balcony. Turning into the direction, she cast [Eagle Eyes] and she saw incoming danger.
“GET DOWN! NOW!” She screamed, but the warring was no longer necessary as the strong wind, shattered the glass into tiny pieces, making holes into body of nobleman as he was too slow to react.
As the assassin stood up, she quickly reach out for the two daggers. She quickly scanned the balcony to see, from where the attack came from. As she turned away, her throat was grabbed by strong hand, that lifter her body.
Struggling for air, she swing left dagger towards the place, where she thought was enemy, but he dagger hit nothing. She was then thrown towards bookshelves which on impact fell, pinning her down to the ground.
She saw as, enemy walked towards the nobleman who was bleeding out. The enemy was a apprentice assassin of the Nocturne Blades, as he was wearing, an insignia of silver hood pierced by two daggers.
The Nocturne assassin, lifted the nobleman and looked into his eyes.
Horrified nobleman screamed as dark cloud was entering through his nostrils and mouth.
Using this cloud, assassin was making the the target to tell everything he wanted to know.
“Where is it” Asked the Nocturne assassin, his voice sounded like a whisper which gave slight echos.
“In the safe....behind that painting” Nobleman said while hypnotized.
Nocturne assassin, dropped nobleman to the ground, then he made way to the painting that covered secret safe. Removing the painting, he reach out to open the safe.
Inside was the item that his master send him for. Picking it up, he stored the amulet into his satchel while also taking out a small red object.
He throw it to ground and in instant the floor erupted in flames. Then he jumped out from balcony.
As the fire spread out, the female that she pretended to be unconscious, made haste to escape the burning mansion.
‘I will not die like this, not yet anyway’ She thought as she crawled her way out from the bookshelf's. she made her way to the nobleman, seeing that he still breaths with those wounds, she picked him up.
The fire was covering the walls and nearly swallowing the roof. While holding the man, she was readying herself to jump out thru the balcony.
As she leap her body stumble upon the barrier.
‘That bastard wants us be burned alive. I have to find another way out!’
She instantly turned and dashed out through the doors to the hallway. Doing so she let out a huge trail of fire, that chased her through the hallway in the shape of flaming serpent.
‘What kind of fire magic is that?’
Using the [Eagle Eye] she sensed all mansion walls, doors and windows were magically sealed by barrier.
‘Shit, Shit, there is no quick way out. The only option is using the hidden passage.’
She sprinted towards the the passage, she quickly pulled the candle-holders on the walls, that opened the way. She dashed onward, not looking away, as magical serpent was eating everything with its fire. As she reached the end, she pulled another lever, opening the exit, she dashed out making her way out from the burning heat. Using her remaining strength, she jumped thru the walls, making her way rooftops, as she heard in distance city guards coming to extinguish the fire.
They both rested on the hill, under the oak tree, looking at smoke in the distant. The sun was rising in the distance.
“I’m sorry, I could not save your life.” the assassin said. “At least your family servants will be able to collect your body for proper burial” as she said, she reach out to her pockets, withdrawing a single rose and place it on the nobleman chest. As she was rising up to go her way, the nobleman took her hand.
“Please… save my son… he have the real… the piece of key...” he plead.
Hearing that she quickly responded with confidence and with warm smile “I will do my best, to save your son I gave you my word’
“Thank...You” nobleman closed his eyes for last time and his breathing stopped.
The assassin gave him a quick prayer, and she dashed towards east gates, towards extraction point where Greg awaited for her return. ‘I promise, I will find and protect your son, and I will find what Nocturne Blades are planning’.
