Somewhat of a reunion...

Music and reading has always been something like a gateway for me. I can remember reading my favorite books, like the Harry Potter series, over and over, but imagining myself as a magician. It was an easy way to escape from reality where I had no friends, boring days and no way in hell of walking home accompanied.

Funnily enough, I still love reading and listening to music, I do it alot when I’m walking home alone, or when the cloudy day couldn’t get any less drab. Mother always told me that if I kept doing things alone I’d never have any friends, and that being an adult without friends is the worst. She wasn’t wrong, but going on several years constantly moving neighborhood, school, camp didn’t exactly help either.

A couple of years ago, I learned something interesting about friends. Something that, I can definitely say has helped me ever since that day. It didn’t matter if i went to the “cool kid’s ” birthday party, or if I joined the club that everyone is in, but so long as I acted nice, put on a little smile and waved back when people said good morning, I made connections.

Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.

Wednesday, June 13, 2012,  I had finally come around to reading the hunger games, a thrilling novel by Suzanne Collins. I was so excited that mom had finally agreed to getting me this hardcover, that when lunch time came I grabbed it, plopped down in a corner of the massive field outside the school and began to read in the shade of a nearby tree. About half an awesome hour later, I was approached by a group of girls I can’t say i knew. I recognized one of them. She was in my English class. She had long brown hair, hazel eyes, braces, and a twin. I don’t remember much from that day, other the first two kicks in the mouth, a ripped pair of black and pink sneakers, and a slew of detention slips.

A few weeks ago though, I found myself talking to, or texting, a girl (wow right?). She was talking about finally having her braces removed, and how her summer hair is finally starting to wear off (her hair turns orange in the summer). She said it had been years since we'd seen each other, and she wanted to catch up with everything. So she invited me to a cafe, about mid October, when newly dyed leaves began to fall and crunch. She spoke of us as if we were the best of friends, who would live for each other, who would die together… She also told me about her growing relationship with her sister. I never had the chance to talk to her sister. I guess she wouldn't really care how i was, or about telling me how her new shoes fit.
