Sometimes I wonder why I was born into this world, who am I? What will happen if I die? Am I really of importance in this world. These words were the only thing Shin Itami thought of as he stood on the roof looking 8 floors down towards the sweet relief he would feel after dying. He took a step up to the ledge of the roof and sat down with his legs dangling in the air.

He heard a voice behind him, "what you up to Shin" said a girl with brown hair and brown eyes.

As soon as Shin turned around the wind blew with great power, the girl's long hair blew in the wind along with the leaves that were present near her.

"Oh it's you Ren"

The girl slowly walked up to Shin, she put her elbow on the ledge and her palms on her chin and looked at the sunny sky without having a care in the world for what Shin was doing.

Ren looked at Shin with a very disinterested look and asked him what he was doing in order to break the awkward silence between them.

"Me? I'm thinking about killing myself."

"Damn that's pretty insane, to be honest I don't think anyone would miss you if you were gone so go ahead"

Shin knew what kind of a girl Ren was so he expected that response. He opened his phone and went into contacts which had 2 contacts, that being his mother and a girl he had met on online social media. He texted his mother telling her about what he was going to do, he got a reply instantly.

"Good, try not to bother me with your death"

Shin laughed at how bizzare and unfair this world was.

Ren laughed at this and glared at Shin and told him that she too was in a similar situation. Her father beat her up daily and her mother was cheating on her dad with a 14 year old boy.

They both laughed at how irrational their lives were. They both were at the pits of hell but they found comfort in the fact that there was someone else was as depressed as they were.

"Maybe I'll kill myself another day" laughed Shin

Ren smiled at Shin and told him that he wasn't as bad as she thought. Shin looked at Ren and said, "you've always stood out to me in class, while everyone was having fun during the break, you were the only one who looked out of the window with a blank look"

"Have you been stalking me" said Ren in a teasing tone

They both laughed, but no matter how much they laughed the pain in their heart wouldn't subside. Both of them wanted to escape from this shitty world.

"Wanna run away together?" Suggested Ren

"Sure but can we do it after I finish the last episode of the anime releasing tommorow?"

Ren smirked and left the roof after shaking Shin's hand. He opened up his palm to see a note with a phone number on it. On it was written:

"See you tommorow, don't kill yourself until then ;)"

"She's such a sly girl"

Shin reaches his home after much time on the roof, he removed his tattered shoes in the broken shoebox and washed his face In the dirty sink with limited water. He was about to enter his room when he heard his mother say, "oh? I thought you were going to kill yourself? I knew it you're too scared to do anything you disgrace."

Shin ignored this snarky comment by his mother and shut his room door. His mother was an alcoholic and a druggy. Every day she had sex with random men for drugs. The only way Shin could survive was by working at a part time job at the cinema. He forgot all his worries for the night and went to sleep.

He felt a bright light on his eyes, he tried covering it with his hands but the lack of curtains in his room forced him to wake up at 7am. Shin woke up to see another man in his mother's room, at this point he had already learnt how to ignore her 'work'.

Shin packed his bags with his clothes and a few essentials and left for the city park. He slept there for around 6 hours because it was the only place where he could relax. After around 6 hours he made his way to the nearest electronic store. The last episode of 'eyes of heaven and hell' was airing. Shin finished watching the episode and was very disappointed by the trash ending produced by the author.

He received a phone call, "Ah Shin where are you?" Said Ren

"I'm wandering around the streets"

"Okay meet me at the cinema where you work at in half an hour, I've packed my stuff and I'm ready to escape this hell hole."

Ren cut the call but a weird question remained in the back on Shin's mind. How did she know where he worked? He remembered Ren calling him a stalker even though she was doing all the stalking.

Shin made his way to the cinema where he met Ren who was wearing a purple jacket and a black hat. She looked at Shin in his blank white t shirt and called his taste in fashion 'bland'.

They both talked for a while until Shin said, "what now? We've left our home but where can we go to?"

"We can go anywhere you want. We may not have the money but anything is better than going back home"

The both of them wandered around the street for a while when they noticed it was already night time. They used newspapers as a blanket and slept in the city park. The night was cold as were the both of them but the warmth they felt away from home was a feeling they would die for.
