There are many gifts in many worlds. Magical Gifts. Worldly Gifts. Gifts of Sacrifice. Each and every gift have ripples that spread far beyond their initial impact. This particular World granted many such Gifts to its inhabitants, with each granted and named from their birth. As most stories go, usually anyways, we focus on a small person, working to make their Gift as important and helpful as possible, as is instilled to most small people by priests. Those damn priests. In my extraordinary opinion, the so-called calling to ¨make your gift special¨ and ¨prove your worth to the World through your gift¨ is complete and utter bollocks to say to a child who has no idea of the fact that just some Gifts just have more oomph behind them. That´s not to say that straight out telling the kid, ¨hey your Gift sucks and Requer´s is way more useful than yours¨ is a smart way to do it. The fact is, people have the idea that their Gift is so important and special that they cannot get their head out of their ass once they arrogantly strut into the real World and are subsequently handed a nice little package called Reality. It leaves a trail of hopeless and broken young things that could have been guided instead of being thrown headfirst and only letting the strong-willed survive. All I know is that at this given moment if I have to crochet, knit, darn, or otherwise a sock for some poor child, I will personally find the person responsible for their situation and show them how shittily a day can go when you are targeted by one who holds the Gift of Thread.
