Training

Ye Mo skimmed through the manual. The wind flow battle skill was a movement technique that focused on using the force of the wind to move faster.

You had to understand the wind current patterns and move along with it until you feel no resistance. At it's completion you would be like an air current, moving unobstructed.

Besides this battle skill the rest were just women's clothes and cosmetics. Storing everything inside the pouch, Ye Mo left for a meal. Leaving the restaurant sated he returned to his house and cultivated for the rest of the day.

He wouldn't make much progress in the nine revolutions fiend body by absorbing qi until the competition but it helped him relax and stay energetic.

When night fell, he set out. Ye Mo knew very well the importance of discretion, he couldn't let anyone see him practice. He was an orphan starving not too long ago if people were to see him using martial arts out of nowhere it would be suspicious. He wasn't afraid of ordinary men anymore but he didn't want cultivators to set their eyes on him yet.

Ye Mo left through the south gate and ran for some time until he arrived on a desert patch of land.

"This place should be good enough."

Ye Mo would have prefered training in the jade forest but he didn't know if the Liu clan found about Liu Hualing already. Although he cleaned the place they were bound to find something at some point. In case they notice him while searching the killer, he might be in danger.

Sitting cross legged Ye Mo closed his eyes and tried to feel the wind around him. He completely immersed himself in the movements of the wind.

One minute later he rose up and ran for a short distance before sitting again.

"I can feel the wind resistance, i must increase my comprehension of the air currents. If my movements are in harmony with the movement patterns of the wind and i can move along with it, i would have mastered the wind flow technique."

Ye Mo focused back on the breeze surrounding him. Sometimes he would stand up and run a couple meters before stopping and calmly sensing the wind. He was growing more familiar with the wind and it's movements.

At dawn he got back home to sleep. Waking up he would go eat outside then cultivate the whole day and when night came he would go back to the same place to train in the wind flow technique.

This way time passed until the day before the recruitment competition of the tiger martial institute.

Outside the city on a barren land in the southeast, a silhouette could be seen sprinting in the dark of the night. It was so quick you could barely follow it with the eyes.

"I can feel almost no resistance anymore but this is still far from the wind current depicted in the wind flow battle skill." Ye Mo stopped, contemplating his progress.

He became faster but he still didn't master the martial art and he couldn't progress anymore though he knew his comprehension wasn't the problem. He soon realized what was wrong.

"I can't use qi." Almost every battle skills were meant to be used with qi. It was normal as everyone would start cultivation by absorbing and storing qi in their dantian. In this way Ye Mo was an exception since circumstances made him start by refining his body first without cultivating qi which was a very rare case. He didn't have any reserves of qi in his dantian to complement with his understanding of the Wind Flow martial art so he couldn't perfect the technique.

"I guess i'm stuck. Well, it should be enough for tomorrow. My speed increased a lot, i don't believe i can't join the Tiger Martial institute."

Confident Ye Mo left in direction of the city.
