I followed Paul as we found a range. It was far, at least a hundred meters.
“Hey, what's your name?” I asked.
“Paul, yours?” He responded.
“Kenji.” I replied while forcing a smile. Paul would set his gun down on the table in our range section.
“What is it you need help with?” Paul asks me.
“Well, I don’t know how to use one of these.” I answer.
“Well first let me tell you how these guns are made. These guns were made using a mana crystal infused with steel. The mana crystal acts as the power source. Once it runs out, your gun is useless.” Paul informed me.
“How long does it last?” I ask. “Around an hour of fire power.” He told me.
Hmm interesting, I wonder how powerful it is, although I don’t expect much.
“I assume this button sets it off?” I ask pointing to the small button shaped into the side of the gun.
“Yes, it does” he said.
“How powerful is it?” I ask him.
“Thats for you to find out.” Paul answers.
For me to find out? That doesn’t sound safe, could he be planning something?
I aimed the gun at the dirt mound at the end of the range, then I fired.
BOOM!
Boom was all I heard as a shockwave of power engulfed the area, sending a massive beam of mana into the dirt mound exploding it and whatever was behind it. Leaving a small crater where it hit.
“Wh- What the fuck.” I said shocked.
“Hahaha, oh that was great, I got you good.” Paul said why dying of laughter.
“What do you mean, got me?” I questioned nervously.
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
“I turned the setting to max, you used all the mana cores power in one blast.” He informed me whilst he still laughed at me.
“Oh, what other settings does it have?” I ask, still shocked.
Paul would clear his throat. “There are 3 modes, Normal, Half and Max. Normal shoots a small blast of mana, which as I stated has enough mana to last 24 hours. Now Half allows you to use 12 hours worth of mana in one shot. Now what you just used was Max, which uses all 24 hours worth of mana in one shot. Does that make sense?” Paul informed.
“It does, I just didn’t know weapons were capable of being this destructive..” I say appalled.
“Yes, this isn’t much compared to what else the world has. But this is just the Pistol, we have Rifles, Rockets and more.” Paul spouts about joyfully.
“Rifle.. Rocket.. And more?” I question.
“Yes, a Rifle is a pistol but faster, and more powerful. While a Rocket is a bigger more explosive version.” Paul tells me.
“Why are you telling me all this, shouldn’t this be held a secret?” I ask
“You asked didn’t you?” He asks.
“Yeah.” I reply.
“And besides, I already know your the prince.” He says while joyfully handing me a rifle.
“Huh.” - Kenji.
There’s more powerful weapons? I thought what we had was the best. I want to find better stuff.
I want to Explore.
I wonder if that lady assassin meant to give me this gun. She did say she had more powerful weapons, I have to talk to her again so I can see what else she has.
I wonder what he meant by “more”. I have to explore their mines and blacksmiths. I must figure out what else they’re making.
This city is massive tho, I’ve been walking for an hour and I still haven’t found anything.
I could also see if I can talk to the Lord yet. But I’m sure he wants me dead. His guards despise me and assassins have been sent after me. I will still try to sneak in for a chat.
I make my way through the town towards the center, passing by colorful stands with fresh food.
The smell of a freshly cooked Horn Walker filled my nose as I walked through a more inward section of town. I was tempted to stop and get some, but then I remembered I didn’t have money.
About money, I still need to earn a bunch of money so that lady assassin stops following me, she’s probably following me right now.
Martha’s POV
“Shit, I gave that kid the wrong gun, I need that now.” I say stressed.
I grab my supplies and open a window before darting out and across other buildings looking for his bitchass.
Fuck im stupid, but it doesn’t matter. I can get it back, It’ll be fine.
I search the inner city using my green eyes to spot anyone with the same look as him.
“I found him!” I yell in happiness. I begin to run towards him but I notice him sneaking towards the Lord's Palace. What is he up to, he’s probably trying to get his money. This kid actually believed all my lies.
I’ll take the free money, what a sweet kid.
Too bad I’m going to kill him.
I watched as he walked up the stairs when a guard was walking away, I quickly followed his path. He walked inside and darted into a room before anyone spotted him.
I followed him in without a trace.
Once I was inside the room I noticed he wasn’t in there but a window was opened.
I peeked my head outside the window to find him cautiously climbing the pillar connected from the base of the Palace to the top of it.
I followed him up carefully, once I made it up I noticed he approached the big window that connected to the Lord's office.
He must know this won’t go well for him.
He gently opened the window before struggling to climb to a pillar, he fell landing on the ground.
He squirmed and rolled over in pain, Hah what a loser.
I jumped in after him, landing gracefully.
“What are you doing here kid, this is no place for little boys.” I stated with amusement.
