The world dissolved into light as Felix stepped into the FiVR pod. For a moment, there was nothing but a void—a blank canvas waiting to be filled. Then, the System spoke.
"Welcome to Sol Online. Please create your character."
A holographic interface appeared before Felix, glowing with soft blue light. He took a deep breath and began.

FELIX’S CONFUSION
Felix stared at the stats, his brow furrowing. “Wait, Caroline, this isn’t right. My stats from the beta were much lower. What’s going on?”
Caroline’s voice was calm but tinged with amusement. “Relax, Felix. The beta stats were a simplified version. This is the real deal. Your training and preparation have already boosted your starting stats significantly. You’re starting with your sniper rifle and cool-looking armor, remember?”
Felix glanced down at his gear—the sleek Specter .50 sniper rifle and the Shadowweave Cloak that clung to his frame like a second skin. “Yeah, but... this feels like a snapshot of everything we’ve been talking about for the last 90 days. Did my training really affect the stats this much?”
Caroline chuckled. “You’ve been pushing yourself harder than anyone else, Felix. The System recognizes that. Now, are you ready to enter the game, or are you going to keep overthinking this?”
Felix smirked. “Alright, alright. Let’s do this.”
He clicked “Enter Game” and felt the world shift around him.
THE TUTORIAL ZONE
Felix materialized in a lush, green field—the tutorial zone. The air was crisp, and the sun shone brightly overhead. A notification appeared in his HUD:
"Welcome to Sol Online, Lix. Complete the tutorial to unlock your full potential."
Caroline’s voice chimed in, her tone cheerful. "Alright, Lix. Let’s get started. First objective: clear the field of pests."
Felix smirked, adjusting his grip on the Specter .50. "Pest control? Really?"
"Every hero starts somewhere," Caroline replied. "Besides, it’s a good warm-up."
Felix moved through the field, his movements fluid and precise. The pests—giant rats and oversized rabbits—were no match for his marksmanship. Each shot landed with deadly accuracy, and his Blinkstep ability kept him out of harm’s way.
THE DIRE HARE
As Felix cleared the field, a notification popped up:
"Hidden Event Discovered: Dire Hare."
A massive rabbit emerged from the underbrush, its eyes glowing red. Felix grinned. "Now this is more like it."
The Dire Hare was fast and aggressive, but Felix’s training paid off. He used Blinkstep to dodge its attacks, landing Precision Shots whenever he had an opening. When the beast lunged, Felix moved and dodged, disappearing into the shadows and reappearing behind it for a final, devastating shot.
The Dire Hare collapsed, and a chest appeared. Inside, Felix found a pair of Reinforced Boots (+5 DEX, +10 HP) and a small pouch of System Credits.
Quest Completion: Cleared the field and defeated the Dire Hare.
Ding!! Level up.
You are now level 2.
Stat Gains: +1 STR, +2 DEX, +1 CON, +1 INT, +1 WIS, +1 CHA, +1 LCK.
Felix frowned. “Hmm, no XP? Just straight into level 2? And why so many stats? I don’t have any free stat points anymore. I’m guessing the +2 to DEX is because of my class and race? Caroline, any info for me?”
Caroline’s voice was calm and reassuring. “It’s because of the tutorial zone. Most likely, we’ll get to customize more later. Your stats are streamlined now, unlike the beta where you had more control. But your skills still exist, even if you can’t access detailed information about them yet.”
QUEST: “RAT INFESTATION”
Objective: Eliminate 20 giant rats in the nearby forest.
Felix sighed. “Hmm, more killing rats? Really?”
Caroline giggled, her voice high-pitched and playful. “Looks like it’s starter zone all over for you, buddy!”
The rats scurried in and out of small burrows near the edge of the forest. Felix took position and began sniping them with ease, his Specter .50 making quick work of the pests. He spent an hour clearing rat nests, using Blinkstep and Precision Shots to take them out efficiently.
“Easy,” Felix said, grinning like a fool. But his inner loot goblin was unsatisfied. “Something’s wrong. No loot? Caroline, any info about the loot?”
“Sorry, Felix,” Caroline replied. “I’m still not getting any info. I think we need to finish the tutorial zone first.”
Quest Completion: “Rat Infestation”

QUEST: “LOST HEIRLOOM”
Objective: Retrieve a stolen family heirloom from a cave filled with venomous spiders.
Felix opened his map and saw that the cave was close, while the caravan for the “Bandit Ambush” quest was just 10 minutes outside the town.
“Let’s run to the cave first,” Felix decided. “I need to test out my dagger and stealth skills anyway.”
As Felix approached the cave, a notification popped up:
"Your stream is now live. Viewers are watching!"
Felix smirked. “Great, just what I needed—an audience.”
The cave was dark and damp, with webs covering the walls. Felix activated Shadowmeld, his form blending into the shadows as he crept deeper. The spiders were large and venomous, but Felix’s stealth and precision made quick work of them. He retrieved the heirloom from a glowing chest at the back of the cave.
Quest Completion: “Lost Heirloom”
Ding!! Level up.
You are now level 4.
Stat Gains: +1 STR, +2 DEX, +1 CON, +1 INT, +1 WIS, +1 CHA, +1 LCK.

QUEST: “BANDIT AMBUSH”
Objective: Defend a caravan from bandits on the road to the starter town.
Felix made his way to the caravan, his Specter .50 at the ready. The bandits were well-armed, but Felix’s marksmanship and Blinkstep kept them at bay. During the fight, he noticed one bandit moving differently—more fluid, more precise.
“That’s not an NPC,” Caroline warned.
Felix hesitated but took the shot. The bandit collapsed, and a notification appeared:
"You have eliminated another player. No penalties apply in PvP zones."
Felix frowned. “I didn’t even realize it was a player.”
After the battle, the caravan leader thanked Felix and handed him his reward.
Quest Completion: “Bandit Ambush”
Ding!! Level up.
You are now level 5.
Stat Gains: +1 STR, +2 DEX, +1 CON, +1 INT, +1 WIS, +1 CHA, +1 LCK.
Loot: Bandit’s Energy Cell (Replaces bullets with energy ammo for the Specter .50).
SILVERLEAF VILLAGE
Felix arrived at Silverleaf Village, a quaint town nestled in a forest clearing. The town was bustling with new players and NPCs. After speaking with the mayor, Felix received four tasks to familiarize himself with the town:
1. Blacksmith: Upgraded Felix’s Specter .50 to use energy ammo instead of bullets. The energy ammo recharges over time, eliminating the need for constant resupply.
2. Tailor: Enhanced Felix’s Shadowweave Cloak, adding a +5 Stealth Rating bonus.
3. Alchemist: Sold Felix a few healing potions and energy ammo recharge kits.
4. Quest Board: Felix picked up a new quest, “The Missing Scout,” which would take him deeper into the forest.
CHECK-IN WITH HIS OLD GUILD AND FATHER
Felix opened the System chat. Aric’s avatar appeared under Associates, his expression serious.
"Felix, how’s it going?"
"Just finished the tutorial," Felix replied. "Got some decent loot. How about you?"
Aric nodded. "Same here. We’re all making progress. Remember, we’re in this together."
Felix hesitated, then nodded. "I know. I’ll be there when you need me."
Later, Felix connected with his father and his old Marine buddies. The conversation was filled with laughter and reminiscing, but also a sense of purpose.
“Stay sharp, son,” his father said, his voice low and serious. “This game isn’t just a game. It’s a test. I’ve seen a lot in my time, but this... it’s different. Be careful.”
“I know, Dad,” Felix replied. “I’ll make you proud.”
As Felix rested in Silverleaf Village, Caroline spoke up. "Felix, I’ve been analyzing the System. There’s something... off about it. It’s like it’s watching us."
Felix frowned. "What do you mean?"
"I don’t know," Caroline admitted. "But I think there’s more to this game than we’re being told. Be careful, Felix."
"I always am," Felix said, his tone determined.
Felix leaned back against a tree in Silverleaf Village, watching the virtual stars twinkle above. The day had been a whirlwind of action, leveling, and discovery. He felt stronger, more prepared, but also more aware of the stakes. The world outside the game was changing rapidly, and Sol Online was at the heart of it all.
"Caroline," Felix said, his voice quiet but firm. "We’re just getting started. Let’s make these next 59 days count."
Caroline’s voice was soft but resolute. "I’m with you, Felix. All the way."
As the first day came to a close, Felix felt a mix of exhaustion and excitement. The journey ahead was uncertain, but one thing was clear: Sol Online was more than just a game. It was a new frontier, and Felix was determined to leave his mark on it.
"One day down," Felix thought, his gaze fixed on the horizon. "Fifty-nine to go."
