While at Arthur's house, Steve called David Bentley to inquire about playing in an amateur tournament.
"Why don't you memorize a phone number and contact this guy named Baden Davis tonight and join his team for an amateur game. Don't call now, he might be busy." Steve was extremely efficient, and it was evident that he was on Arthur's case.
"Thanks, I'll play tonight." Arthur couldn't wait to play soccer, he had to get used to this new body before he tried out for a professional team.
"Say thank you to me for what? Just go and play soccer by yourself against people you don't know and don't get bored. No, they should all know you, all Arsenal fans."
After chatting for a while around Arthur's future, Steve excused himself and headed back to his house. He wanted to stop by home and have dinner with his parents before returning to training camp tomorrow.
Arthur had Chinese home cooking for dinner, and it was delicious. The Wangs had retained many of their Chinese habits after immigrating, and the second aunt, Jolene, was likewise an ethnic Chinese who spoke Chinese and cooked Chinese food.
Immediately after the meal Arthur called Baden from the Arsenal Fans Association to make an appointment for the kick off. It was to meet at 2pm tomorrow, near his home. Since it was a team made up of Arsenal fans, all he had to do was wear an Arsenal jersey to get there.
He can only play this kind of game, anything more regular won't do. Going into April, England was nearing the end of the league at every level and it was impossible to just add anyone in.
Back in his room, Arthur felt quite comfortable here. Uncle Two's house was a three-bedroom, two-bathroom house, and Arthur had a spacious bedroom. He also had a computer, a large bed, and all kinds of furniture and air conditioning.
He didn't immediately turn on his computer to look for "study materials" or log on to the Internet in the UK, he had little interest. From 2023 back to 2002, the entertainment of the era had no appeal to him. In this environment, he could focus more on the soccer field and concentrate on his career.
He lay on his bed and summoned the system, having time to study the mysterious game that had sent him here. The page was divided into five columns: personal attributes, quests, milestones, system mall, and props warehouse.
Arthur mentally thinks about which section to enter or exit and the operation is done, the system is in mind control mode.
He first checked his attributes. The initial attributes were the ones he had previously set, with the exception of the "Location" item, which was displayed as "Unknown".
He could understand why this was the case, he was not under contract, did not play for any professional team and certainly had no position to play for.
Detailed attributes are Balance 86, Fitness 90, Speed 88, Agility 83, Dribbling Accuracy 33, Short Passing Accuracy 44, Long Passing Accuracy 38, Shooting Technique 42, Shooting Power 85, Free Kicks 23, Jumping 85.
Arthur thought it was normal to randomly become a goalkeeper; he was simply an oddball, with all the physicality but none of the skill.
Anyone who has received systematic training should have a ball carrying accuracy of over 50. his 33 carrying accuracy is best not carried, perhaps a stopping the ball two meters high plus five meters away kind of level.

From memory, he made a super mistake as a goalkeeper. A teammate's very flicked back pass that he failed to stop with his foot rolled straight into the goal. Luckily youth team games are not videotaped, otherwise it would be proper black history.
Looking at the sad shooting skills, he suspected that he couldn't make a smooth transition, who would want a striker with such a poor shot?
"Gotta hurry up and practice the basics, otherwise I'll be in trouble if I sign on physical fitness and the coach lets me play center back." Now Arthur must be better than playing forward if he played center back, and unlocking the ball was not something that required precision.
Of course, it's also possible that he'll be one of those center backs who scores 5 unanswered goals in 4 years.
Luckily he has plenty of time to progress. After the national leagues wrap up, the World Cup is in late May to late June, and the start of the new season usually begins in mid-August, so as long as he signs in early August it won't interfere with the tournament. It's better to sign early and get some time to bond with his new teammates.
The attribute section also includes natural skills, which he has "none" for now, but will have in the future.
In the Quests section, Arthur has two pending quests.
Rookie Quest: "Kick a game and make a full field appearance for a random rookie reward."
Advancement Quest: "Sign a contract with any professional team and gain a random natural skill."
Arthur speculated that he didn't need to play professionally to complete the rookie task, as long as it was a scoring game and he played the full 90 minutes, otherwise he wouldn't have been able to complete it at all.
This is an easy task and should be done tomorrow.
A physical condition like Arthur's, with the stamina to easily play a full game. Even if he lacked match experience and had average skills, he was certainly much better than an amateur. The task didn't require him to play well either, just get on the field.
The second task was a bit harder, he had no experience in signing a professional player contract. He had just crossed over and wasn't even sure what level he was playing at, and his heart was beating wildly at the thought of playing in a professional league.
For him, being a professional player is honorable and fun.
The Milestones section is of course empty, Arthur's soccer career hasn't even taken off yet.
What he cared most about was the system mall, having a mall meant that there were special props to buy. It was a pity that the mall was not open for the time being, the text introduction said that it would be opened after Arthur became a professional player.
The props warehouse is also empty and is used to store bought props.
Arthur was very curious about what would be in the mall, tried to communicate with the system in his mind, there was no reply. The game is dead people are alive, there is no newbie guide or anything like that anymore, he has to rely on himself next.
Arthur set a small goal for himself, signing a team to get the Talent Skill reward in his hands as soon as possible. If this talent could help him improve his strength quickly, he could become a famous ball player faster.
And by then it will be clearer what path he's going to take in the future; if it's a defensive talent, he could also consider playing as a back or defender first, slowly changing to striker. If it's an attacking talent, then he'll be firmly playing as a striker.
All night Arthur had been planning his future and had opened his computer to create a document and write down some ideas in Chinese.
He knows English now, and recording things in Chinese is a habit that can't be changed in the short term. Also, he has to type in Chinese to be able to type quickly and blindly, and he has to practice in English.
His short-term goal is to do missions and sign for a team. The medium-term goal is to help the team he joins win a title, become famous and be selected for the national team as soon as possible. The long term goal, is to become a soccer superstar, top striker and compete for world footballer of the year within 5 years.
The system's quests should always be done, of course, and he had his own ideas.
Before crossing the line Arthur is a person who likes to make a splash, only his own ability is limited, and he rarely has the opportunity to pretend to be a bully. Now his mood, like ready to go out to hunt vampires President Lincoln, my big axe has long been hungry and thirsty.
The most attractive thing on a soccer field is always the striker, followed by the attacking midfielder, and the person who excels in attack is the brightest star.
It's too hard for players without stats to prove themselves, fans don't buy them, and it's hard to sign a big contract with a team.
That's why for a long time, Mr. Football was always bagged by the duo of Crowe and Messi, who blew up their stats. There are only a handful of defensive players who can win the world's footballer of the year, and it can only be compared to team honors.
Arthur wanted to be such a superstar that the battle of the Jedi would become a three-legged race.
The more he thought about it, the more excited he got, and he surfed the internet until three in the morning before turning it off and getting ready for bed. It took him another half hour or so to wash up and look in the mirror feeling like he was looking at someone else. Then he lost a bit of sleep, being so handsome by himself.
With the image of being able to outshine Kaka and Beckham, he is sure to be incredibly popular as long as he plays at a high level, and is a proper top stream iconoclast.
Arthur did not sleep soundly this night, waking up three times off and on.
Every time he woke up, he had to shout "God of soccer" in his heart. Only when the 3-D virtual game page with a faint blue light appeared in front of his eyes could he become at ease.
"It's true, thankfully." He was most afraid that crossing over was just a beautiful dream of his own, and that he would wake up as the same ordinary, loser who liked to stay up late to watch soccer games.
He slept in until almost noon, ate lunch and then changed into his workout clothes and headed out the door.
