So first I take a short decade long nap to pass the time. In order to let mana fully saturate my world. And stabilize the lay lines and shift the topography to be well, natural, I guess. And so, you know why I did that first rather than put in micro-organisms, well it is like if you were used to living in a volcanic island, then your kidnapped and dumped into a cave on top of mount Everest. Well, no idea why anyone would go through the trouble of kidnapping you just to drag you up mount Everest, but who am I to question that. But the point is that I want them to start off with mana not get shocked and die when mana suddenly erupts from the ground. Now that I am done explaining that to you Ima go dump some not so creepy, ‘because there not visible,’ crawlies, onto the planet and take another nap so they can make the planet fertile then drop some seeds ‘of all kinds ^_~ ^_~ ‘, onto the planet, then take another nap. Wow I am getting groggy just thinking about it, Ima watch it on a time laps instead, that sound more fascinating. sorry no time laps for you.
It is kind of cool watching how nature filled in the world like that. But now onto the next part, fishes, bugs, and small critters, and after they get established big critters. Its exiting to see how some of those animals in games such as flame bears, come to be thanks to their adaptation to mana. After around a hundred years all the wildlife is established, and their population is enough to sustain some of the more magical beasts like dragons. but I decided not to add goblins. at least not yet because there usually depicted as a scourge that needs to be eradicated before theirs's to many and they destroy everything. So, I wont put them in until I have something to keep them in check, such as the sentient races. And that brings me to another problem should I steal them from other worlds, just spawn them in through the system, or should I come up with a story like the elves were created by the world tree to help and nurture nature. Then I metaphorically kick myself, what kind of fantasy world worth their salt doesn’t have a world tree or at least a myth or ancient forest as the home of the elves. Well, there’s probably actually lots, but that doesn’t change the fact that I forgot about it. And I'm definitely going to want one, the question is should I just plant one or should I use something to turn an already existing into one. I decided to go with the later option on both the sentience question and the world tree one. First, I figure out what tree I'm going to pump with drugs “cough” super fertilizer forcing it to mutate, and I decided on an old oak on an island in the center of a lake that is also in the center of a huge forest covering half of the largest continent. Of which there are twelve. And obviously I'm putting the elves in that forest, and the story I'm going with is the goddess of nature saw that the forest was fighting with itself and smothering the young before they could sprout, and while she knew this was the nature of life. Young as she was, thought she could change that and so she took form in the tree we know as the world tree. And gave form to the elves to keep balance in the forest trim the old so the new may grow, fell the rotten so the land may heal. Etcetera etcetera you get the gist. Then I decided to put the centaurs, minitours, and the like on the planes covering the other half of the continent. And I mean the half beast men not the beast kin that only have the ears and tail I'm putting them on another continent. Also, the story I'm going with for the half beast men is that the god of the planes had a particular fondness for the herds and so blessed them with intelligent and a more useful form. And ill place all the other races in there respective cliché homes. they can move to other lands if they really don't fit in where they are when i spawn them. and go with stories like the dwarves were born from the fiery molten core deep in the mountains. And some other stuff to spice it up, you know the works. Actually, ill just let the races themselves fill in the details as that would make it more fitting and it would stand up to the ravages of time better. Just let them believe what they want and make their own religions.
