Monster filled dungeons have run rampant across Earth and humanity has joined forces with the monsters and their corrupt magic. Ismund's cold calculating experience clashes with Drifa's bright naivety as they navigate, dungeons, monsters, and this new society. They're both out of touch with the future they're in, will they bring new life to humanity or be the last light snuffed out? What to expect: Monster fighting, dungeons, the occasional touch of humor and a focus on both of the main characters developing as people as they try to work together despite their differences. If they aren't fighting monsters they're discovering something new, planning ahead, or navigating their own thoughts. There is no romance for a long time, a long time, haven't even touched that in 35 chapters and I probably won't in the first book, however, I do plan on slowly bringing that into the story as it progresses.What not to expect: a focus only on fighting/becoming more powerful, a lack of character development, selfish goals driving the whole plot (like money, wealth, power), the whole story revolving around revenge, Characters who live in a moral grey.
