Update: New chapter coming soon!

First of all, I want to apologize for the long silence. Life happens to us all, and authors are no exception. This has been a hectic time in my life, as work began to slow down and finances dried up, I found myself working harder and harder for less and less. All of this made it very hard to find time to write, and when I did have time, stress and the pressures of providing for my family made the creative juices dry up. Thus began a job search and the joys of entering a new career. Many, many applications and a lot of waiting and a new job was finally found; but this came with adapting to a new schedule, training, and the stresses of my family adjusting to all this along with me. A nasty case of bronchitis during all this also didn't help.

Well, now things are finally settling down, a new life rhythm is established and the creative juices are flowing again. I have finished the first draft of the next chapter in the saga. It's a bit bloated; the rough draft is over seven thousand words long. I need to pare it down a bit, figure out where to cut the fat, and see if I can get it up to my standard of quality, but overall I'm happy with it. We are entering part two of the story, and new characters and perspectives are being introduced. This, I hope, will broaden the story and shed some new light on the world, but this also means that, as the author, I had to find a narrative voice to put to those new perspectives, and that hasn't been as easy as I originally thought it would be. We've been exclusively inside Jonathan's head until now, and it was a pretty comfortable place. New places to explore can be exciting, but it's not always easy getting there. I'm still not completely satisfied with these new voices, but it's close, and I hope to have the wrinkles ironed out sometime in the next week or so.

Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

In the meantime, please bear with me and know that I have not abandoned this story. I have a clear ending in mind, and will not rest easy until I have put it down on the proverbial paper.
