The day at Rugby High School seemed to pass as slow as possible. Gideon, Arthur, Angel, and Kage, all set spread out around the room. Their math teacher, Mr. Z, then rose from his desk, and looked out among the class, seeming to stare directly at each of the four boys.
“I do not believe this has to be said, but as you all know, Summer Break is creeping up on you all, so next week we will be having our End of Semester tests” He said, and the class all groaned, except for Angel. Angel Romero was known for his love of reading and studying. It seemed almost impossible for him to fail a test, and if he did, the poor boy would have a melt down.
“On a further note, We will be getting out May first for the Panthers game, so I want all of you, if possible, to go… I will be offering bonus points” Mr. Z said, and the class all cheered, and some even clapped Kage on the shoulder.
“And Last but not least, I would like to announce the class favorites of The Freshman class” Mr. Z said, and all the boys and girls beat on their desk in a drum roll.
“Most Popular, Wendy Louise and Kage Ross,” He announced, and the class all cheered, the group of girls giggling in the back of the class. “Friendliest goes to Andi Long and Angel Romero” Mr. Z said and the class erupted in laughter and cheers. Angel lowered his head, blushing greatly, as he felt hands pat his back and shoulders.
“Class Clown, goes to Gideon Wein, and lastly, Best Dressed Goes to Arthur Lawrin…” Mr. Z said, then the bell rang. Everyone rose to their feet, and Angel quickly rushed to gather his things, walking up to Mr. Z’s desk. “Sir, is there any way we can move the EOS test to later, I hardly have any time to study for them” Angel pouted. Mr. Z sighed, “Angel, you know as well as I do you don't need to study anymore” He said, and Angel looked down disappointed.
“Angel, you are my best student, you need to rest some, don’t overwork your brain” Mr. Z said, and Angel nodded, walking out of the classroom to the bus.
Angel climbed on the bus, holding his books tight to his chest, until he sat in about the middle of the bus. Beside him, was one of his best friends, Gideon Wein. “Angel! How are you?” Gideon said with a smile, grasping Angel’s shoulder. Angel blinked, before he shook his head to clear his thoughts.
“I'm, f-fine ”Angel said, clearly lying but Gideon did not seem to notice. “That's good” He said happily, his eyes glistening, making Angel blush and look away. “You okay, Angel?” Gideon asked, and Angel shook his head. “No, not necessarily,” the boy replied.
"Aww, what's wrong bud, you can tell me," Gideon said with a comforting smile, and Angel shook his head. "I'm sorry, but I don't really want to talk about it. '' Angel said, blushing hard, and Gideon put his hand on his shoulder. "Well if you ever want to talk, I'm here" He said, then the bus came to a stop.
"Gideon Wein, I believe this is your stop" The Bus driver said, and Angel pursed his lips. "Remember what I said" Gideon said as he stood, then he made his way off the bus.

Angel took a deep breath, walking to the door of his modern home. He then turned the knob, and poked only his head in. He saw no one so he crept his way through the house. Angel made his way up the stairs, and closed his bedroom door as quietly as he could. But when he turned around he nearly screamed.
There in front of him was his father, Houston Romero, and Angel began to shake. “You're late” His father said in a deep voice, and Angel struggled to form words. “The bus ran a little late today, I had no control over it” Angel gulped.

“A little late! You’re a full hour late!” Mr. Romero yelled, and Angel flinched. Then his father came towards him and Angel backed against the wall. Angle whimpered as he gripped his hair, and yanked his head up. “If you ever are late again, I’ll beat the ever living shit out of you” He snarled. Angel whined and nodded quickly, and Mr. Romero threw him to the floor.
“And another thing, If I here, even one more rumor, about you being gay, you’ll regret it” His father said, and then he stormed out of the room, slamming the door behind him.
Angel curled up on his carpet floor, balling his eyes out as his headache grew. How he wished his mother was here, he was to the point now he wished he could just fall asleep and never wake up.
He cried for about an hour, before he heard tiny knocks on his window. He wiped his puffy, red eyes, and slowly made his way to the window. He pulled back the curtains, and opened it, only to smile down at a familiar face.
“Vesta!” Angel yelled, just loud enough for his friend to hear. “You coming, Bookworm?” Vesta replied, crossing his arms. “Yep, gimme a sec to change” Angel replied, then he rushed around his room, looking for the perfect outfit.
He ended up changing into a striped black and white shirt, and short booty shorts, white thigh high stockings and white converse. He curled his eyelashes and put on a tiny bit of makeup, clearly trying to impress.
He snuck his way through the back door, and smiled as he saw Vesta waiting on him. He seemed to get all giddy as he ran to his side, looking Vesta up and down. His blue polo shirt, his khakis, and rainbow, checkerboard vans, made him look hotter than ever.
“Ready to go, Short stuff” Vesta asked, and Angel blushed greatly, nodding eagerly. Then they set off, walking along down the trails of the woods. Angel’s heart was pounding the entire time, wanting so badly to just grab Vesta’s hand and hold it tight. “Something wrong, baby boy” Vesta asked, snapping Angel out of his fantasy. “Uh, yes, everything is fine” Angel stuttered, and Vesta gave him a sideways glance. “Uh huh, sure” He said
Then out of nowhere, Vesta pinned him against a tree, taking Angel’s hand in one hand, and his side in the other. “Angel” Vesta said in a low tone, and Angel’s heart was pounding hard. “Y-yes?” Angel asked, and he seemed to hold his breath. Then about the time Vesta’s lips were about to hit his, they were interrupted by a voice.
“Could you two gays get a room” A monotone voice sounded. Angel groaned and pushed Vesta back, and he glared. Then he noticed who it was.
“Arthur Lawrin, what are you doing in these woods?” Angel asked, and then he saw the weed pipe in the boy's hand. “You're either crazy or just plain dumb to smoke this close to town” Vesta snapped, and Arthur managed to smile.
“I'm in the middle of the woods, maybe you should think about having sex so close to town” He said with a smirk, and both boys flared red. “That is not at all what was happening” Vesta said, and Arthur scoffed. “Sure, if I had let you continue you’d like be on your knees su-”
“Enough, it's over with!” Angel yelled. Vesta looked away from the both of them, extremely red in the face. “Now Arthur, please, just, go away…” Angel said. “I was here first dip shit” He replied, and Angel sort of screamed as he stormed off.
Angel walked for a long while, ignoring Vesta as he called after him. “Angel slow down, please, let’s talk about this” He called, and Angel’s back slid down a nearby tree, and he began to cry.
“Angel, baby, what's wrong?” Vesta asked, and Angel sniffled. “I just wanted to go for a walk, just me and you, no one else, just to escape the chaos of home” He cried, and Vesta crouched down, pulling Angel close. “I know, I know, and I'm sorry, I thought we were alone, so I just thought it would be okay” Vesta said, and Angel whimpered.
“You don’t know, do you know what I deal with at home, being abused from the time I get there to the time I finally go to bed, crying myself to sleep from the pain, waking up on and off from nightmares… you don’t know” Angel cried loudly. “I do know, I was abused for many years of my life too, I just finally spoke up about it” Vesta said, and Angel nodded.
“I have no one to tell…” Angel said, and Vesta smiled, before he lifted Angel’s chin. “Let me take care of it, baby boy, you’ll be out of there before you know it” Vesta said, then his lips collided with Angel’s lips.
