Part 1:  Struck

It was 1976 first of september, the sun was shining down upon the citizen and a young girl named Sandra who was having a need for some candy. She had been nagging on her mother for what seemed to be ages to go to the caramel store, that was just over the street, but right now her mother was so busy talking with her friend that she was paying her daughter no heed.

Though as all children, little Sandra was quite a bit of a little rascal. Leaving her mother to get the taste of candy was something most children could and would do, and that was exactly what she did!

Yes,  eventually as time went by and the caramel became more and more desired, she finally gave up on nagging on her mother and started to walk towards the candy store alone. Silently the little lady ventured towards the street. Normally it was a road that had a fair amount of traffic, but even if she was a little rascal she kept her mother's teachings and looked both to the left and the right, before taking the scary trip across to heaven.

As no cars were seen, she immediately started walking across the road. The road was a so called double decker and as she started crossing it her eyes and mind were glued towards the nice and sugary caramel she was going to have. And Sandra was certain that her mother would not even notice she was gone.

Unfortunately though the young lass had quite short legs, and used quite a bit of time to cross the road. Of course this is quite normal for a five year old child.  But it is not really a benefit during regular working hours, when traffic was quite high. Suddenly she could hear some really loud honking coming from somewhere, before she suddenly was slammed down towards the ground and started crying.

“Oh my, what is that woman doing? Is she not paying attention to the little lady going towards the streets?“ was the thoughts of a man, standing quite close to a candy store. He had taken a short walk to think about some of the simpler and deeper facts of life. Though unable to find what he was looking for, his mind turned elsewhere and went across to the other side of the road.  As he was looking across the road, he could see a little girl who was walking across the street with proud movements, though amidst of these proud little steps, a truck was moving towards her. And not in a slow way either.

The man quickly had to start contemplating whether or not he should jump out to try and save the little one. Well he should have contemplated, but his body reacted automatically and he moved quickly as lightning towards the little girl. The sound of breaks was screaming as he jumped towards the girl that had just noticed a man running towards her and pushed her flat down on the ground. Even though the girl was in shock from the occurring events, she blushed instantly as the man’s face was so close to hers.

But the man's face contracted in pain for a short time as his elbows hit the asphalt on each side of the girl. And as his face was contracting the little girl gave a little yelp in fright as she found herself constricted under his chest.

Cramped under man's chest, the girl got lost in his beautiful and deep eyes, not even noticing the loud car that was as of now straight above her. She didn’t even feel the cold asphalt that was surrounding her body, as she found herself swimming in his deep blue eyes. Within that well called eyes, the sun started to shine. The man showed a sincere smile towards little girl, as he turned his head and leaned towards one side and looked up at the truck that was now standing still above them, as they were lost in darkness.

As the man turned himself towards her again, a few words of wisdom were whispered silently in her ears, before he took his arm gently around her waist and then slowly started to move forward, to get outside of the truck.

Still lost in the abyss, the girl was stuck on the man's eyes. The man had a slight grin as he got them both outside of the truck before they got on their feet. As they were walking towards her mother, the young lass found herself unable to say a single word. Lost in a gentle smile, the little girl fell in love for the first time.

The mother was standing in shock at the events occurring around her. Unable to move or do anything she just stood still as the unknown man moved towards her, with her daughter's hand.

Her eyes locked on her daughter. Stress and panic kept her stuck to the ground, but as she was starting to wake up slightly, she began to ran straight towards her child. Tears started to run from her eyes as she closed in on her daughter and tossed herself on the ground in front of her. She gave her a hug while yelling loudly towards her child, both with love and anger, not giving a single glance to the man who had just saved her daughter. The mother had found herself to be so focused on her daughter, that when she felt a hand touch her shoulder she turned around and met his eyes, noticing him for the very first time. She suddenly found herself stunned, completely unable to say a simple word.

He smiled before giving two caramels to her and then turned towards her daughter to give a teasing wink.

The little girl nodded with pink tinted cheeks having the brightest smile ever seen on the little girl. While the mother found herself unable to do or say anything towards the man that had given her the candy, before he got lost in the crowd.
