All she could feel was pain. Occasionally she would be able to catch moments of sound or sensation, but she couldn’t escape from the foggy state her mind seemed to be in. A sharp prick brought her back to an in between lucid state, and she could hear sounds of fighting begin to come through. The prick evolved into a stinging sensation that began to spread throughout her body until she felt like she was being burned. Weakly raising her arm, she brought her hand to her cheek where the pain had numbed into a pleasant cold feeling. A small pulsating lump was there. A poke to it brought pain back to her face, so she let it be as her attention moved to the side where she could see two blurry shapes jumping around a giant mass of green. A slime? She dismissed the thought, if it was a slime then she would feel something towards it, but she felt no familiarity with this creature.
The identity became clearer as her eyes adjusted to being open again, and she could tell that what had appeared to be a solid mass of green was actually a compilation of mossy matter rippling around the creature. The people revealed themselves to be Garath and the woman she had met days previous while watching a sparring session in the Slayer base. Where am I? If they were here then she must be close to the base. Others might be in danger from this monster. That was enough to get her to her feet and wearily grab her spare dagger from her side. It was small and jagged, but it would do the trick. She staggered forward on numb legs and began to shuffle forwards. Her body felt funny and foreign to her, but she was too distracted to notice.
The creature slammed itself against Garath a few feet in front of her and he flew back. An arrow snapped against the vine that had risen to hit him before he was able to find his feet again. Rita took that moment to aim with her knife as she could now see that getting close would not end well. The most vulnerable part of the beast appeared to be a globular dark mass inside it and she attempted to focus her mind before letting her dagger soar through the air. It sunk home and she thanked her luck that the attempt had been successful. The monster vibrated aggressively and its movements became sluggish. Garath gave out a pained groan to the side of her and her knife suddenly moved inside the creature's body. Soon all that was left were clumps of organic matter lying in a pile in the tunnel.

They all looked at one another and despite having never seen a message from the dungeon like this, Rhea could tell it was a rare bonus. The woman, Leah, started laughing while Garath looked exhausted, but pleased. She didn’t know what had happened to cause this, yet she was feeling more self assured and content then she’d felt in years. The peaceful tranquility she was feeling vanished in a moment when she felt a slight pulsing to her cheek that she had ignored while the adrenalin was coursing through her. Reaching up, she could feel the lump and remembering how it had hurt, she resisted the urge to rip it off. Looking to Leah, she spoke carefully like any movement could release the thing living in her face “Leah, what is this? What happened?” They filled her in on the events of the pervious days, but she could tell they were hiding something. When they got to releasing the spider on her she cringed. It could be doing anything to her and they had no idea its actual effect. If she became a vampire or something more vile than her life would get a lot worse quite quickly.

They had left the tunnel and been moving for hours when she felt the pulsing begin to slow. As time passed, the small lump shrunk and slowly ceased all movement. She woke up the next morning to see a startling notification that brought forth a smile, and a dilemma.
Integration Complete! You have gained the aspects of an ancient race of spider-kin that once resided here.
