The constitution of an ace

“Oh great monarch, it would be an honor to accompany you, but if they find me they will kill me. Forgive me but I will be walking to my death if I accompany you on your journey to the lands of nirvana.”

‘Lands of Nirvana… so that’s what the burly soldier meant back then.’, I thought.

“Nothing will happen to you as long as I decide to keep you alive. Moreover, they should have given up on chasing after you by now, it’s been a long time since then.”, I told him while walking to where Lyna was.

“You could also ask the villagers to look after your eggs until you get back.”, I said while thinking that the eggs might be precious to him.

The dragon remained silent after that. Lyna was sweating profusely meaning she was alive.

I turned to him and asked, “What did you do to the girl?”

He said, “I released the pain restraint on her body, she must have fainted from the shock of pain of the sound reverberating in the hall and the wind blowing on her skin. I already undid the spell so she will be fine after some rest.”

‘Wow! He can do something like that, fascinating. I should be able to do that since I am a monarch in his point of view, right?’, I thought while looking at him for a moment or two.

I then turned and lifted Lyna from the ground and told the dragon to carry us on his back and take us out of this place. The dragon turned to look at his eggs at the center of the altar and then turned and bowed his head as a gesture for us to get on his back.

“Shouldn’t you tell the villagers to look after your eggs.”, I asked the dragon.

He said, “Oh great monarch, no one would dare to go inside this place and if anyone gets in, they can’t go out without my help anyways, also there is nothing they could do to protect those eggs.”, while still bowing in front of me.

“Alright then.”, I said and hoped on top of his head and sat while laying Lyna on her back while resting her head on my lap.

The dragon started to move and suddenly, everything went dark. After a moment or two, the light came back and we were outside of the shrine. The shrine must have had some sort of security design implemented to prevent any unauthorized personnel from accessing the shrine.

‘That’s what he meant by not getting out of the shrine without his help.’, I thought amazed.

The dragon had intelligence that was more than that of humans, if that’s so, he should have had a name. After thinking for some time I decided to ask him, “What is your name?”.

The dragon replied, “Oh great monarch, I don’t have a true name yet since I am still on my first layer.”

‘…!!!, I almost got caught there.’, I thought.

“I see…”, I said, “How should I address you then?”, I asked the dragon.

“Address me however you see fit my lord.”, said the dragon.

“Should I call you Zero?”, I asked him.

“Such a great name my lord, I have happiness overflowing inside of me…”, the dragon said with emotion.

‘hehe… this guy, getting emotional over something like this.’, I thought.

“Okay Zero, how much time for the girl to wake up?”, I asked.

“It differs from one person to another but this girl should wake up after a day of rest taking in to account her undeveloped body.”, the dragon said.

“Okay go as fast as you can, I need to get to the lands of Nirvana as soon as possible.”, I said and closed my eyes to meditate and explore the probable potential power sleeping inside of me.

I could feel the wind cutting my cheeks just by how fast we were going. This guy has a decent speed and could be useful for transportation.

‘Should I keep him?’, I thought. I caught myself from going too far with this silly thought and turned to my meditation.

I closed my eyes and started to concentrate on my body, the rush of blood on my body could be heard. I focused on the stone which was on my right hand supported below by my left hand in front of me.

After focusing for some time, the darkness came and the stars started to appear there.

‘What am I supposed to do now?’, I thought.

I could think of a number of things but I decided to just watch for now.

The stars that were glowing white a moment ago now started to glow emerald. I watched as the light changed color on each of the floating lights one by one. After some time, almost all the lights started to glow emerald. The lights started to move slightly and slowly around themselves.

I waited and watched the lights vibrate and rotate around themselves for some time. And what came after that surprised me.

The lights started to form some kind of a shape by positioning themselves with each other. I could see something that looked like a cube. Then I noticed another shape next to it which looked like a sphere. Other shapes started to appear next to those two. The appearance of each shape was faster than the one preceding it.

Some shapes were like a tetrahedral, a pyramid with six faces all together. Out of all the shapes appearing around me, the one that caught my attention was an irregularly shaped polygon.

It was like a stone that has been showering in a waterfall for hundreds of years. The emerald hue it immitted added beauty to the irregular structure. I approached the stone with my consciousness and tried to touch it. The stone moved and slid away from my hands as I was about to touch it’s surface.

I tried again and again but to no avail. It was as if the stone was coated with oil and when I try to touch it, it slips out of my hand.

‘I don’t think this is going to work.’, I decided to try to attract it with my will, just like with the first light that flew into my forehead.

The stone light, I decided to call it, was still and didn’t move. It was floating there about a meter away from me. I willed it to go to my forehead and nothing happened.

‘It’s not working.’, I thought, ‘What am I supposed to do then?’, I thought to myself half irritated.

‘Maybe it’s not responding because I lack something.’, I thought.

‘But what is that?’, it felt like I was in some kind of brain game, if I solved it, I would live, but if not, I would die.

After pondering for some time, I decided to leave the light stone and to concentrate on the other shapes floating around on the void. The sphere was an easy choice, because it’s a natural and perfect shape, it may be easy to uncover and understand.

I willed the sphere to come to me, it didn’t move. I then tried to reach it with my hand but just like the stone light, it slid away.

‘What is with these lights? Are they just going to float there and do nothing…’, I realized, ‘That’s it.’

All I have been thinking about was to try and reach out to the lights or have them come to me, what I didn’t think of doing was to just watch them and see how they move, float, or change color, state, or shape.

‘In doing nothing, something can be done.’, I thought remembering a quote I heard a long time ago.

I just stood there watching the sphere and after some time has passed, the sphere started to glow more and more and it’s color was starting to give off some faint gold color combined with the emerald hue.

‘Now!’, I thought and willed the light to approach me, so it did. The sphere was floating towards me with calmness. I reached to the sphere with my hand but it just passed through my hand and stopped moving just before my forehead.

Small lights were fragmenting from the sphere and dissolving into my body. I felt clarity in my mind with every fragment entering in dispersing through my body.

The sphere was fragmented and absorbed to my body, then I felt a surge of energy flow into my body, and a series information and knowledge started to appear in my mind. Rather than appearing in my mind, if felt as if I was thinking those things myself.

I tried to process the new information flowing in my mind. The knowledge was related with the biological structure of my body, the anatomical constitution making every inch of muscle fiber in my body.

The bones in my body were a combination of carbon and steel with a lot of calcium and magnesium ions flowing through them. There was also a layer surrounding the surface of the bone. The layer was inert and very stable, so electricity couldn’t be conducted.

‘This is what I am talking about.’, I thought feeling excited and happy at the same time.
