ch1: Wanting to live a leisure life.

ch1: Wanting to live a leisure life.

My name is Metis, I’m a third-year high schooler almost about to graduate. Most people think that most high schoolers are lazy people that, but I’m actually very active… In my computer, but don’t underestimate what you can do in a computer! I’m a creator that has dabbled in everything! Whether it will be 2d/3d animation, modeling, video editing, coding, software development, game development, music creation, translation, scanlation, designer, computer hardware, writer, circuit designer, the list goes on and on!

I’m a jack of all trades, master of… few… but still! I think I’ve spent my high school life the best! Indulging in my creativeness, and creating what I want, that’s the most fulfilling thing one can do! Although because of that I didn’t even make a single friend… But nigh!  I shall not be dragged down by pessimistic thoughts! Life is about looking forward! Being better! Improving yourself no matter what!

As such it’s always important to laze around, and thanks to the technology of our world, lazing around when one is feeling down has become the best thing ever!

Metis gets off the chair and computer he was in to throw himself at the bed of his small apartment, grabbing an old and ragged handheld console that’s roughly the same size as a flip phone. Turning it on just to see it stay on a black screen.

“Huh, I’m pretty sure I charged this.” Says the boy, reaching for a charging cable across his bed that has a weirdly shaped port. As he plugs it in and turns it on, the black screen did not halt.

“Oh well, looks like the battery died out, welp, it was time for a battery change. Guess I’ll have to go to the used electronic store to see if they have one.” Metis gets out of the bead, slowly stepping to the exit door of his apartment. He opens the door to be flashed by the sun and the hot sidewalk.

He stretches his body before beginning to walk in the direction of the store.

… A few minutes later…

“That was a Pretty good find, they had one of the games I was trying to get for this old thing. Sweet!” He says, walking on the sidewalk.

Suddenly, he trips, not on his feet, not on a pebble, on nothing, his face going straight to pavement, he can’t do anything to block it otherwise he will waste the treasure trove in his hands, he closes his eyes and braces for impact… but… it never comes. He feels a strong wind on his face, so he opens his eyes to find that he’s gliding through the air.

“Hu-.” Not even getting a chance to collect his thought, he gets spin around by the wind like a ragdoll.

“huhrflkjlelitjeoknlkjdlkjf.” He tries to say… something, but can`t thanks to the immense wind hitting him. Mustering all his strength, he stretches his arm and legs to stop the wind treating him like its bitch. Letting go of the treasure that he had in his hands.

After shedding a tear for the loss of his incredible find, he’s not surprised to see that he’s falling from several thousand kilometers, only seeing a vast valley of green grass on the floor, with a dirt road going down the middle.

“WHAT THE FUCK, I’M JUST LIVING MY LIFE AND I GET TELEPORTED UP IN THE AIR!!?!?!?.” Well... he’s somewhat surprised…

If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.

“Shit, shit, shit, there’s not even any trees or cars to break my fall, it’s just a fucking empty valley. Fuck! Shit! Dammit!” He desperately says, having an expression that’s a mix between, anger, determination and fear. With his body at maximum velocity, he creeps closer and closer to the ground.

“AAAGH, is there literally anything I can do? I’m just destined to splat the ground like an uncooked pancake? Fucking luck.” He’s only a couple hundred meters from the ground now, accepting his fate, he flips his body, puts his hands on the back of his head, closes his eyes, and braces for impact for the second time today.

Just as he’s a couple meters to hit the ground, what looks to be a man swoops in and saves him, carrying him like how you would carry a princess. Metis opens his eyes to thank the person who saved him and is also weirded out not by the princess carry, but from the abnormal amount of strength one will need to have to break his fall without any of them getting hurt.

As Metis opens his eyes, it reveals that his savior is…

A macho bread man? Wait what? Is this dude in some sort of cosplay?

It’s literally just a loaf of bread with the arms and legs of a body builder.

That same loaf of bread out of nowhere grows a human mouth in the middle, it was gross, creepy, but at the same time kind of cool.

“o homo, casus tui similis huc intrat” said the loaf of bread with the creepy mouth that suddenly grew in the middle of his body.

“The hell? Is that Latin? Sorry man but I don’t understand that unfortunately.” Metis said with a hint of disappointment, wanting to thank the thing that saved him, even if it was a macho loaf of bread.

“Jaaaaagh” Sighed the loaf of bread, suddenly slapping Metis with enough force to send him to the ground.

“What the fuck dude!”

“Can you understand me now, human?”

“huuh?” Said Metis confused, putting a hand on his cheek to where he was slapped, caressing It lightly to relieve the pain.

“I granted you the ability to understand all this world’s languages. There’s kingdom if you follow this road, lost human.” Said the loaf of bread, extending a hand to help Metis.

“Well thanks, that’s actually a really OP ability, but if you’re granting abilities like this, and that you’re a loaf of bread, I’ll presume that I some how ended up in another world.” Metis said after accepting the helping hand of the loaf of bread, standing up and putting his hand on his chin to think.

“Can I ask you a question?” Metis said, trying hard to analyze the current situation.

“If it’s something I can answer then go ahead, although I would be able to answer one of your questions, since maintaining this mouth is quite tiring.” Said the loaf of bread, being empathetic of the situation the boy found himself in.

“What is this world?” Metis questioned, analyzing that this was the best thing he could ask.

“This world was once merged with your home planet; it was the time when the myths and legends that are now nothing but text in your world existed. But one day thanks to a catastrophe between my friends the worlds separated, leaving a grand portion of people, the creatures of myths and legends and us stranded here. I think that answer explains enough.” The loaf of bread explained, only saying one last thing before his mouth disappearing. “I wish you luck on this world, lost human.” After that it closed its mouth and began walking in the opposite direction of Metis.

“Damn, I feel like I took 10 shots of cocaine before falling asleep, but that slap was real as hell.” Metis said, beginning to walk on the dirt road.

Meanwhile walking he was talking to himself. “He told me there’ll be a kingdom if I follow the dirt road, but the guy didn’t tell me in which direction of the road, welp! Let’s just hope I got the right one!” He said with a clearly sarcastic tone, well knowing that he couldn’t survive the night of a barely known world.

A few hours passed…

“Huff, huff, hiiiiieeeeee… I’ve been walking for God knows how long, but I finally see the kingdom, the walls, thank Christ, the sun is beginning to set down too.” Metis was out of breath for walking so much, but finally seeing civilization gave him hope of survival… wait, he doesn’t have any money, right?

“They kicked me out…” Metis said, hanging out outside the kingdom’s gate, with an expression that looks like he has given up on life, his arms hanging loosely from his shoulders.

“Money… of course... even as back as the Middle Ages currency was everything, and I have none, I’m poorer than the poor right now, even a beggar has more money.”  He said, sitting down close to the gates, chuckling to himself as a form of alleviating the stress and desperation he was feeling… He looks like a crazy person though.

Night was quickly approaching, and nothing else to do, Metis has no choice but to spend the night outside of the kingdom gates, without even a blanket or pillow, jus the cold soil and grass.

“Mom, Dad… Even though I somehow got transferred to another world, it wasn’t even by something cool like a summon or reincarnation, I just got pooped out by the sky and saved by a fucking loaf of bread, and now, I’m spending the first night here as a homeless person.” Metis was thinking to himself, while laying down in the grass, trying to do a therapy session on himself, making everything out of the situation he was in, while slowly trying to fall asleep.
