in the middle of a heated battle, Karvas cast a [Fireball] towards a paladin that dared to charge towards him, the paladin stopped in his tracks, surprised that the feeling of decay and anxiety seeped into him. The armor clad man muttered a single word - "How?." - He said with absolute horror, dismaying the fact that his blessings were gone, the undead infront of him seemed to have gotten stronger. The paladin looked at the undead that slowly moved forward, exempting one, all it's arms each possessed a weapon, two swords were wielded by the two arms located at the bottom of the ribcage, then there it was, the information that solidified to hunt such an undead- a gigantic mace that was used by the fallen paladin a few weeks ago, it's bladed head glistened as it bathed beneath the light that iminated from Karvas' flames, the paladin felt shivers run up his spine as the four-armed skeleton approached even further.
Putting his faith in the god that he worshipped, the paladin tensed his legs, resolved to tackle the flaming skeleton, though these things were supposed to be weak- The fact that his ribcage literally looks like a pile of bones stuck together by glue is a sight to behold and an indication that let's everyone know of how tough this type of monster actually is. "Not to mention it's height." The paladin stated, Sighing, he looked around, trying to find a priest that could still cast spells but to his horror, Living corpses so agile that they cannot be seen could be found blurring around the battle-field, hopping from one patch of grass to another. Like raptors preparing to hunt, the living corpses proceeded to lunge at priests, disemboweling them as they passed by. Thus, every single priest that was once on this area had either been gutted, eaten, or burnt by the skeleton in-front of him.
Still, he will not let such a pathetic sight stop him from attacking such a monster for he trust his god to take him upon death, the paladin turned around-
his head got sliced open once he did. Though that wasn't the most suprising part, it was the part where his soul got eaten by the monster infront of him.
a massacre ensued.
****************
Halstein woke up, his back felt sweaty and he could feel the softness of the bed beneath him, standing up, he looked around, he was in the infirmary, then a memory flashed through his mind and tears flowed down his reddened cheeks, noticing a presence, the young boy asked - "So they're gone huh?" he said with a dissapointed, yet refusing tone. The streams of tears became a waterfall as he felt the figure beside him nod.
Three days later.
Halstein woke up, deciding that perhaps,.. it was finally time to leave his room, a place he had been stuck in ever since he was discharged from the infirmary.
A few hours later after finding his resolve and a trodden down albeit bright Halstein opened the doors of his dorm, putting on his shoes, he left the dormatory and headed for the academy a few blocks away. On his way there, Halstein grabbed the rations that the canteens provides for free, finishing it all up before he even arrives at the entrance, the young boy made a dash as he practiced his wind magic, one of the many elements he possessed within his arsenal.
For the past few days, Halstein thought of revenge and how he would obtain it, unsurprisingly, the one who carelessly attacked important villages of a kingdom was an undead. Or atleast the report said a lich but he digressed, there was no way a powerhouse would sit at a country side during this time. Not after the massive siege within the land of giants.
"All of them should be taking the massive oppurtunity that that place has provided." Halstein thought aloud.
Entering the massive halls of his magical academy, the young boy looked around, trying to find someone he was familiar with, though he was considered an outcast, very few that are in the same situation as him are people that he considers a friend. Halstein was soon able to find a girl, around his age with a sapphire-blue hair, she was standing beside the lockers, looking at a piece of tablet that glowed, something called a "Phone" by most nobles.
Halstein waved at the young heiress the moment that she noticed his call, the girl, known as Jorunn waved back smiling towards Halstein. "So, how was the mourning?" she said towards the young man, "Three days." she added, "Three whole days you were gone from the academy. What kind of hardened mage is that?" she finished. Though the taunts were indeed hurtful, she was right, as a mage, crying about something as petty as the death of loved ones is shunned by other practitioners. Though they are indeed supposed to be weapons, most seasoned mages like the one at the infirmary could understand as to why such a thing was necessary, and thus, the young boy was left alone by the authorities to mourn.

Jorunn grinned as she showed Halsteinn what she had been working on her phone, a spell that supposedly is able to cast a freezing spell so strong that it is capable of inflicting frost bite on the very first second it was conjured. Though such a spell undoubtly exists within this world, Halstein, for all his research found none around his kingdom.
The young boy looked at the wiring of the spell, the magic circle was quite potent. If not downright deadly. He smiled towards the creator, commending her in his own little way.
Parting ways after chatting for a bit, the two headed towards their respective classrooms.
[Room 687 - Magic.] was written on a sign atop a wooden door-frame. Halstein was greeted by a silent classroom upon entering, most of the students are already here, with some simply staying outside and chatting alongside their aquintances.
The entire room ignored each other. Something that everyone was used to by now, as all of them were multi-elemental mages, so to say, elites. They did not want to chat to one another unless it is necessary.
Halstein sat on his designated chair, waited and when the teacher arrived, bowed in respect. Just like clockwork, their class once again starts today.
The teacher grabbed a glowing stick, placing it on the massive stone that was called a drawing board, the man drew a massive circle, within this circle lay a Pentagram, 6 triangles were drawn on each vertex, and at the center of this 5 sided shape was a Square, within it is a smaller circle, further in this circle was another triangle and at the center of this triangle is a sign for the usual elements that magi use.
"This is a Tier 6 magic circle." He stated as he looked around, everyone was currently drawing the circle drawn on the board but they were still intently listening. "Though this isn't really a complex one, Tier Six magic circles usually consists of multiple hexes that would be the circle's source power [The five triangles on the vertexes], three sigils [The vertexes.] at best and a hieryglyph [The sign of the element] at the center. Runes can be added as well but sadly, they cannot produce potent magic for they are too weak to absorb the mana required for said magic"
"as for the conduit for the entire thing, though a pentagram is indeed good, adding more sides could potentially increase the power output, and the risk." The teacher said with a smile.
Halstein, listened as the class went on, with it eventually ending after an hour.
The entire class left the classroom that taught them magic, Halstein followed behind the entire group as they went to their second class for the day, which was [Room 230 - Alchemy]
A teacher was on the pedestal, concocting something on it. Multiple items were found on each student's desk, Seems that we're going to have to make potions for the day. Was the thought of halstein as he entered the room, his guess was right as the moment they all sat down, the teacher simply left, leaving the students to their vices, the only guidance they all have left being the potion at the center of the classroom.
Halstein heated up the brewing stand as he looked at the different ingredients present in front of him, a water filled cask was soon placed on the mouth of the brewing stand, the student waited for the water to boil as he opened his notebook to remember the different reasons as to why the ingredients worked the way they did.
The reason as to why plants and animals can possess elemental; power is due to one thing, that being the fact that mana is surrounding them. Mana, in essence is capable of influencing and changing both non-living and living beings, from the stone that you walk on to a dog that you see in the street, mana influences them. Enchantment, so to say, is everywhere. It simply becomes more potent once you use runes and anything related to the amplification of mana, you can use different materials to imbue, but some is obviously much more better when it comes to conducting such an energy. Plants, for one thing, is one if not the best one when it comes to conducting mana, for not only are they alive but also something that's akin to material than anything. That is why our wands are made out of wood, why are potions are made using herbs and the like.
Halstein closed his notebook, ready to concoct the potion at the front.
