Weird... As the skeleton stepped out of the cave he covered his eyes with his hands from the blinding light coming from that scary yellow orb in the sky.
Since when was that there?
The skeleton tried to look at the mysterious orb but turned to the side, as looking at it had burned a hole through his two sockets.
Ignoring the scary burny thing, the skeleton looked in wonder out of his little cave as he stepped out and into a lush green pine forest, birds chirping happily in the background.
One unlucky stumble over a very inconveniently placed stone later and skelly was sitting on his bony bottom ten meters below his previous cave abode.
Standing up and dusting himself, Skelly began his trek through the pine trees, winding through dark bark and bushels of colorful berries skelly made for a random direction. Absolute faith in his instincts.
hours walking in the underbrush had led skelly down a path of no return. He could forget about getting back to the cave, he didn't even know where he had been just ten minutes ago. But forget about those useless things.
Everything is so, Green! so Wrinkled. So.. so.. Weird.
Since when has everything been so weird? He had just been floating around minding his own business in his pitch black void of total emptiness when some glowy things popped up out of nowhere and now he had found himself surrounded by.. by.. what even are these?
They had this odd way of rustling around and making noise for no real reason. And they just seemed to pop out of the ground. A spike of bark and leaf.
Not to mention they were EVERYWHERE.
Skelly pondered over the meaning of trees, when in the distance came the sound of screeching, a sound to make his bone holes bleed. Interrupting any of Skellies attempts to sate his curiosity of these odd spike beings.
ouch.
What was that sensation he just felt? It was repulsive! Did the thing that was making that sound feel it too? Was it communicating with him? But why did it make that horrible sound?!
Skelly was too curious at this point. Forget about the stupid inane spikes, he needed to find whatever was making that noise!
Skelly ran/shambled over to the source of the noise, skidding past a flowing blue path of liquid and some brown critters with fluffy tails that nibbled on seeds by the side of the liquid.
Skelly braced himself and leaped over the stream, scaring the squirrels as he flew through the air.
You see, when you give something the strength of a young adult and then forget to give it any weight it makes for
a Fantastic jumper.
Skelly aced the landing, heading foot first into the forests underbrush on the other side of the stream.

And stumbling into a clearing in the forest, empty with an exception to a large boulder, imposing and brutal.
Shifting his skull back and forth, Skelly searched for the source of the noise. He NEEDED to know what made it.
Out of the bush came a small furry creature, whining as it panickedly limped away from a rumbling of bushes rapidly approaching the clearing.
The creature had been covered in blue striped fur if it had not been ripped off by what could only be assumed to be claw marks as three jagged lines dug deep into the surface of the creature's skin. Leaving gashes of red blood. It limped on its broken leg the other three dragging it through the grass. It had a short snout and a long slender tail giving it the appearance of some sort of mutated wolf.
As Skelly finished his analysis he turned to look as the rumbling sound had broken with a roar into the clearing. Leaving trampled bushes and small trees in its wake. It had big yellow triangles of scale pressed over its leathery skin only disappearing when the scales reached its exposed white stomach. It had eyes like a cats and an alligator-like skull leaving the body with a form somewhat like a lioness covered in scales.
It had a piercing gaze that bored into Skelly as it assessed him. Looking between the two creatures Skelly dictated the one that must have made the sound was the blue wolf. So Skelly walked over to the blue creature and started to examine it.
Apparently it hadn't even noticed him before and flinched away when he got close. The larger predator, fearing the skeleton would steal its first meal in days started to circle them both with a predatory gait.
Skelly was bewildered. Where was the noise? Why had it been made? A flurry of questions entered and exited Skellies mind before being interrupted once more by the growl of the yellow beast from before.
Aiming to pounce the beast put weight on its hind legs before launching towards Skelly with a vengeance. Grasping Its prey's neck in its jaw, it twisted violently, scoring a crack out of the skeleton's neck.
The predator was pleased. What an easy opponent, it didn't even retaliate!
Turning back, the predator released its grip on the skeleton, and started towards the prey, victory in its grasp. But before it could take more than two steps the skeleton had stood back on its feet, taking its head in its hands and twisting it back to its original position.
So that is what I felt before. Skelly had no intention before of harming the creature, but that sensation. It was disgusting. It left a mark on his happiness. He knew now what the beast was planning. It wanted to direct more of that pain towards the wolf.
No, it would not let this happen. It would stop this beast. Even if it meant he had to inflict that same pain on it instead.
Skelly started to mimic the predator. Slowly walking in a circle around the monster, eying it and its movements. The beast had had enough however and leaped at Skelly once more flinging its body through the air and into Skelly.
Raising an arm in instinctual self defence, Skelly rolled and tumbled over the grass until slamming his back against the boulder, the predator fiercely gnawing on his arm.
Completely calm, Skelly ignored the intense pain in his arm and creaked coming from it and started smashing his fist into the eye of his attacker, hoping to gouge out its eye.
THis was not enough however as the predator shook its neck, vividly snapping Skellies arm bone leaving a sharp splinter of bone attached to his elbow.
PAIN PAIN PAIN PAIN.
Skelly ignored it, and used the loss of his arm as a way to get rid of the predator's leverage. He stumbled to the side and rolled to his feet. He tried to compose himself but the beast gave him no chance, using its signature tactic it pounced off of the boulder at Skelly.
However , Skelly reacted just in time, as he dodged out of the way of the stupid beast. propelling himself into the boulder. Back to rock, Skelly braced himself for what he knew would come.
Some growling later and the creature once more aimed to pounce on Skelly. But this time he was prepared. He angled himself towards the pounce, and braced his elbow against the rock. Aiming the splinter of bone at the beast as it flew through the air.
The monster realized too late as it tried to twist itself out of the way, but fate had other plans as it had landed belly first on top of the splinter, impaling it through its torso and past its lungs.
Skelly pulled the splinter out of the monster and tried to step back, but the beast in a final moment of desperation and anger, clawed Skelly right in the ribs. Leaving hideous scratches of bone.
The beast growled one last time as its legs twitched and its eyes faded and clouded. Leaving Skelly to stand there and watch in silence.
