To be fair to the Master, you didn’t make the best impression when you first met. You brought her unconscious and bruised mother with you. Brokedown the door to get inside, which may have not been what she meant for you to do. And you failed to defend yourself in front of the Master, bringing into question your abilities. It's fair that she was more than just a little disappointed.
So, it's safe to say that she did not take everything well. Granted not a surprise but you were still rather surprised when she started screaming and dropped your head on the floor.
Hmm. Maybe you should use your new Perk again.
Mind Thief Perk ‘Telepathy’ Activated.
Speak to anyone and everyone mind to mind, if they are smart enough to understand you.
Are you alright Master? Is there a threat? Are we under attack!? Do not worry Master, I shall defend your life even as just a skull.
You diligently but fruitlessly attempt to right your head to fight back. All you manage is spinning your head in circles with your jaw. Eventually, you settle for just keeping your eyes on the other bodies in the room. Of which the first one you notice is your Master’s mother.
Ah, evening Miss. A pleasure to make your acquaintance in a less hostile manner. Apologies for the nock on the head but I had no idea you were my Master’s former womb. I would have been far gentler with my strike if I did. Although I do hope you are understanding the whole self-defense concept.
This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.
The mother was just staring at me slack-jawed. Maybe the perk didn’t work?
Down here. The magnificent Minion Skeleton that is just a head. Yes. Me. I’m talking to you.
Still no response. Maybe I should go slower. Dumb it down even.
Me. Minion. You. Mother. Of. Master. Do. You. Understand. Me?
With each word, her face begins to contort into one of indignation and rage. By the last word, her skin was a blazing crimson.
“Yes, I can hear you, you undead abomination! Now tell me what you are doing near my daughter before I crush your skull under my boot.”
...
Master, you have my deepest sympathies. I tremble at the thought of being raised by such a slow individual. Worry naught for I am here to negate such mental damages from proceeding any further.
By the even deeper shade of red her face took, you are under the impression the mother heard you.
You have regained 1 Health.
Ah, finally. Give me a moment.
Your body begins to generate from the neck down. It is an incredibly odd experience. There is no pain, but there is a distinct class of information for your nonexistent brain. Feeling your limbs growing is something you are sure no one has experienced before or would want to. The only reason it doesn’t hurt you is that you have no organs or nervous system regrowing as well.
The male hellspawn who you have been ignoring is throwing up. How squeamish. You are just bones and a couple of gallons of blood regrowing into a humanoid form. It could have been worse. Far, far worse.
And now you are in tip-top shape. A very satisfying situation.
The mother and human assassin, who’s just been silently staring at you the entire time, meet eyes. They both nod, and now you are facing them both down with their weapons drawn. One with a magical glyph and the other with her shortswords at the ready.
You wish women would stop trying to destroy you.
