As the information appeared on Mr Hargrove his appearance started to change from a handsome man and a brown suit into a man wearing loose fitting pants tucked into leather boots. His upper torso was completely covered and bandages with scribbled runes written onto the bandages that started to glow faintly as he looked. There are no eyes, a bump where there should be a nose and a slit where there would be a mouth. His overall physique is tall but well built and toned, the bandages tight on him as if skin.

“Well Killian it's been… what? Lets see..” He pondered “it has been what.. 1,800 cycles give or take a few decades for you since we've last met. I can understand why you have forgotten your place.” As Mr Hargrove spoke his tone went from sarcastic jovial joking to take on and gain a very hard gravely tone to it.

The figure in the centre; Killian immediately went stiff when he heard Hardgrove start to speak. The other one, all in black leather armour, also went stiff and his head looked from Callum to Mr Hardgrave and back at Callum before his body relaxed. The third looked at his other two companions wondering why neither of them had moved not noticing the play in their body.

“You're supposed to be dead, Graves” Killian said, biting each word.

“The Fath'Rythar suffered greatly after your disappearance.” Killian added with a certain level of joy in his voice.

“Well I did tell Tekken there was going to be a reckoning for what he was planning and I would have no part of it.” Mr Hardgrove said bitterly

While the two were talking Callum could feel the tension thicken. a vibration in the air like the air solidifying becoming slightly harder to breathe in.

“There's no need for fighting graves, we just want the boy.” Killian said with a note of hesitation in his voice

“And as I have said before the boy is under my protection. The sins know the rules and their little puppets have to obey.” Graves responded with venom in his voice.

The pressure exerted in the air intensified and then I was getting to an absolute building point. The figure colliding black leather stepped closer to his other companion and steel plate and in a quick fluid motion grabbed the sword on his back and brought it down to capitate the man hitting the silver plate. He looked at graves

“Long time no see scribbles”

Then Graves exploded into action. The hand of greed moved blurring fast too fast for Kalam to follow it as the black armors warrior engraves pounced on them. Calendar didn't remember the man carrying any weapons and yet there are two blades not as long as short swords dancing in his hands blocking the three blades coming at him from graves and the black warrior.

A message popped up in front of him with a simple word

[Run]

Calum, still confused on what was going on and why his teacher was here, got up and sprinted and the direction he was travelling before.

Another message popped up

[You are being pursued but too familiar with the hand of greed. The familiars that are following you are flash abominations created from the corpse of the warrior travelling with the hand of greed. The black clad Warriors in pursuit but he will not make it in time. You will need to know how to use your abilities in order to survive this situation.]

“Okay okay okay” Callum muttered in a panic “what do I do?”

[To activate your gravitation manipulation powers you have to will gravity around you to increase that or you can focus on targets better within your area of effect I would recommend the easiest use of the power is to affect the area around you with its max capacity. This will leave you truly weekend unable to run for some time until your stamina recharges. You will need the time perfectly in order to crush the flush abominations into the ground.]

[The flesh abominations are approximately 35 m behind you and closing at a rate of 5 m every 3 seconds. You'll need the time perfectly in order to maximise the amount of damage. They are 10 m away on my mark]

[One]

Calum heard the steps behind him close again faster and faster he almost panicked and use the ability but he held off screaming inside his mind not wanting to die wanting to die when the countdown hit one with the footsteps and then a hard pound and he focused with all his might turning up the gravity around him to maximum three times. Around him there was a loud crash in a spray of blood, bones and flesh around Callum as he stumbled to the floor looking back and seeing a crater, flesh , blood and bone.

Panting trying to catch his breath and what he just said done and it just killed something. The shock of that drain left him unable to notice the figure in a pale blue suit that appeared in the tree line around him. The figure walked towards Callum that wasn't until he was within callums eyesight of heating on the ground that called him frozen and looked up at him. The figure had a kind handsome face with a ragged scar going from his left temple to the right collarbone. His eyes were hard and steely glowing, a soft blue flickering with gold. He looked down at Callum

“Tsk tsk. This will not do.” The man said in a condescending tone.

The pressure around Callum intensified much greater than he ever felt before and he was slammed into the ground

“Much much better you do not look up at the face of a Herald. I Had worship from your people and they have fallen far far far indeed. They do not worship us as they once did.”

“You are not from this world. I have been tested to ensure that you do not become part of it. Have the honour in knowing you were killed by the hand of the herald of Odin.”

Calum tried to move but the pressure was overwhelmed. All he could do was strain his head to the side trying to look up. He could feel his body being pressed further and further into the ground. Morning messages popping up over and over. The pressure lifted a bit and Kelly was able to look up and saw the man in the blue suit locked in combat with the man and the black lad armour.

They moved like blues dancing around the trees. The clashing from their blades sent cracks through the trees ripping off bark sending some trees toppling over. It happened faster than Callum could process. All of a sudden the two are clashing in a clearing they had made and then the man in the blue suit was standing in front of Callum, his sword plunged deep into his chest. Calum looks down at the sword's hilt protruding from his chest as an interface showing his life force draining.

He looked back up at the smug handsome face of the man in the blue suit. Looked up and saw that smug smile turn into a grimace of rage as the point of a purple blade pierced through His chest. The sword impaling Callum vanished in a puff of sparkly smoke and a gush of blood erupted out of the front. As Callum fell to the side he saw the man in the blue suit turn around face the man in black. Men in black poised as he had just thrown his sword looking down at Cowan's body frozen realising he was too late. Calum could feel his heart beating slower and slower.

A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

“You have failed warrior but I do commence your efforts as a partner but this has to come to an e–.” the Man in blue said Harald of Odin.

He saw the man in black hang his head and raised his hand up to the hood pulling off the mask and pulling the hood back. His eyes burned white.

The sclera were black the pupils burning and iridescent white and silver. Man in blue froze his hand out about to summon another blade.

“Well well when it has been a while since I face one of your kind is not expecting to expand this much today.” The man in blue growled.

“Odin Your Herald summons your power-” the man in blue has started to say as the man in black his eyes shining brighter and brighter white lines flowing over his armour. The intensity of of the air around Callum lessened as he began to slip from his body. The last thing he saw was a boy in loose black robes sitting on one of the fallen trees with the other two battling around him as if they could not see. The boy smiled and then everything faded to black.

Calum came too groggy and tired his chest feeling very sore. Then he remembered everything that happened and panicked and opened his eyes, looked down at his chest and saw a vivid red scar where the sword was. He looked around at the surroundings , which were in a clearing and a forest. It was night time now and the sky had an odd purple colour to it. there is a fire crackling off to the side and the man clad and black crutch down by the fire

“They're finally awake” man in black said

A system message popped up in front of Calum's eyes.

[You died]

[You have been revived with the energy from a Greater Mana Crystal.]

“What the hell, I died?” Callum muttered out loud?

“Yes you died but you still did not leave your body yet I was able to heal the damage with a man of crystal and keep your soul from drifting off.” The man in black said.

“Now that you're awake we're going to have to continue to move fast. I don't know what happened to the scribbles in the hand but either way they're supposed to be another contingent sent after us as a precaution for anyone like scribbles showing up.”

“Why do you call Mr Hargrave scribbles”

The Men in black let out a dark chuckle. “The writing on his wraps were done in a rush so the spells and wordings on them aren't exactly perfect scribbles became a kind of nickname for him because of this. And due to the nature of his being he can't fix it.”

“Okay I'll pretend to understand that. Where am I and how did I get here? Why did my flesh start dissolving off my bones? Why are there people after me and how the hell did I die and not stay dead!!!?” Callum started asking questions quietly and calmly but ended up shouting at the end.

“To be honest, I'm not sure why they're after you. It's something about a prophecy that someone from another world will come and destroy the god king. Could be that they're just collecting another species from other worlds again trying to experiment but seeing as the hands are involved I don't think that's a possibility. As to where you are we call this planet Nyx. Yeah so why you're flush with mounting I would assume that's because you're from a world with a low Nyx count. No, not the same energies we use for our magic, spells and power. I've been told it has a tear-eating effect on offworlders. Especially ones that come from worlds of no magic. And as to how you're still alive, well you can think of the Dark Phoenix curse. No it really knows where it came from but the powers of this world encountered something or someone that cursed the entire planet every single inhabitant on it born or that came to it is cursed with the Dark Phoenix curse. This curse ensures that you in a sense cannot die, your soul will not pass on for a while, you'll be stuck and tethered to this world. Other entities can grab your soul, throw it back in your body and revive you but normally that's some sort of deal you have to make, a side from a deal with a God, if you got enough money or powerful enough mana crystal like this one I used on you you can bring a person back. You have to quickly as it doesn't work on souls that have been detached from their bodies for too long that you need some divine power.

Callum took some time. He digested the information. Then I looked at the man clad and black and said “Who are you, really?”

“You can call me Adam, kid” Adam said. “I'm the man your dad sent to help scribbles. He wanted to-”

Adam stopped speaking and looked over to the left. Out of the shadows walked a slender figure clad and a cloak.

“My my Adam you have been a naughty boy. I kept telling him you couldn't be trusted but he wanted to use your infulence in order to gain position. I see that it worked for him and you just became a lacky. The woman's voice came from the cloak venomous and cunning.

Screen popped up in front of Callum with data on the character in front of him.

“For fuck shakes.” Callum swore trying to get up to bolt and then the pressure which was absent up until now slammed him down back on to the roll.

“Now, unlike those other fools, I will complete my task to the letter.” All of a sudden she appeared behind Adam with two long dagger tips piercing out of Adam's chest.

The hit didnt seemed to faze Adam much as he growled, swinging his arm back, a sword appearing in his hand faster than Calum could have followed. His eyes started the glow the white iridescence again

“Nope we will have none of that” The woman said from the darkness

She appeared in front of Adam placing a hand on his forehead and muttering a string of words faster than Callum could hear was like a pop of sound but Callum knew and felt that they were words. All of a sudden the light snapped out from Adam's eyes he looked shocked before the woman bent down and a fluid motion twisting and spinning and sending Adam with a kick as Adam flew through the air she muttered another string of words again sending like a pop of air and the tree Adam slammed into opened up around him swallowing and holding Adam in place of vines and tendrils sprouted from the tree and sank into Adam's exposed skin.

“Tsk tsk Adam. After seeing you clash with ether Harald I expected more of a fight.” the woman said cunningly.

Adam struggled against his encasement and then finally fell limp. The woman looked over to Callum and another pop noise and a gesture and the grass sprouted around Callum binding him and dragging him towards her. She brought him up to her face and pulled back her hood. Her face is sharp but extremely beautiful. She sniffed him and then stood back in a start.

“You're cloaked as human but you're not..” she said, intently not getting any closer to him.

“What are y-”

A slow dark chuckle started to emanate from Adam stuck in the tree. Calum looked has the woman went visibly pale as the chuckle turned into a greeting

“Hello Melissa, it's been a while.” Adam looked up with a grin on his face, his eyes glowing but not white they're glowing a deep purple and gold.

Melissa stared dumbstruck as all the pressure around them that Callum was feeling vanished in an instant. Callum struggled against the glass and broke free, noting to himself that he's a lot stronger than he realised it was not just his running endurance that was affected.

Calum looked over at Adam prepared to run while Adam looked down at his surroundings and then looked back up at Melissa and the trees simply dissolved around him.

He fell from the air and landed softly. Brushing off the dust from his armour. Call Kelly felt he wasn't really wanting to be in the middle of this so he decided the bolt then all of a sudden he was frozen in place of the pressure enhancing dumping down on him and then it let go he turned to look at Adam and then Melissa and saw Melissa tried to run as well.

“Now what is it you said Melissa we can't have that now can we.” Adam's voice now slippery and cruel.

He raised a hand to Melissa and pulled something out of the air from her. It was the same colour as the white silver iridescent light that Adam's eyes glowed when he powers up. The iridescent light didn't return to Adam but formed into a book. Melissa Frozen in place only able to move her eyes helplessly watching as Adam walked around her in a circle flipping through the pages of the book in front of him. The book disappeared after a while the smoke vapours receded back into Adam's body then there was a grimace on his face as if he was struggling and then the eyes flash from gold and purple to white and silver.

There was a hiss in the air that Callum was pretty sure it wasn't actually heard but more felt "kill herrrr!" It seems like the pressure disappeared from Melissa and she sprung to move but found a sword at her throat.

“I should do what you want but I need her alive at the moment. All your mana is gone and we both know you can never beat me in a duel.” Melissa looked deflated but then a pressure redoubled in the area. One of Adam's eyes flicked purple gold "fool" and then it happened in the flash Melissa snapped a sword out of Adam's hand as he was frozen and plunged it deep into his forehead all the way out the back.

Calum watched in horror as Adam's body fell backwards into the ground, the sword sinking in deep and a white book appeared on Adam's chest. Rage boiled up within Callum. He focused with all his effort on the Melissa woman in front of him and activated his gravitation manipulation. It seemed like someone blocked her on the head. She turned around and looked at him with a smile on her face.

“Cute kid but it's going to take more than that.” Melissa said as she casually walked towards him.

The anger boiling up inside Callum, the fear that he's going to die next after seeing someone strong as Adam happily taken out. A message appeared in front of his face.

[Ability unlocked: Life for Power]

[Give up a considerable amount of life force stamina and mana to increase the effectiveness and strength of your other abilities and spells for a short time.]

Calum felt the life force drain from him he saw in his interface the mana and stamina he felt weakened frail like a gust of wind could knock him over. Melissa stopped walking; she's strained against the effort. A snarl appeared on her face with the strain. Then I'll look with shock and surprise on her face as she spat “You Varyn'Kyth, You filth! “Why does he want you alive?” She let out with a growl.
